That's what I thought as well- JanuaryGarnet087 years agoSeasoned AceI hope they don't tune it down. Ugh! Every time we get something that can cause some randomness and some negative consequences they tune it down. It's really pretty boring to know every time you create a sim they are basically 100% guaranteed to live to be a thousand years old because nothing bad will ever happen to them unless you absolutely force it to.
Seasons made it possible for about 2 weeks after release then people started whining and now it's plum near impossible for a sim to die from weather unless you force them too. There's almost no challenging aspects to this game whatsoever. Now I suppose we'll get this pond people will install it Sims will die, they will cry on here and instead of just being told to delete the pond it will get tuned down to a glorified goldfish bowl. - EgonVM7 years agoSeasoned Ace

A lot of the Sim Camp videos show sims dying in the pond and not just by sharks and piranhas but fairies and koy fish as well.
What's happening is their drowning. I can see maxis having to tune this with a patch later. From what I've heard the death rates from drowning is high.
A lot of videos show that? I have seen none.
Please link some videos where that death is shown. I'm really curious. "Pamtastic72;c-16810157" wrote:

Same. I want it to stay that way so there is a sense of danger when I use it. Just how they turned down the aliens way too much that I haven't seen one since that patch.
Or they could exist without saving lol. I want my sims to die randomly from not being watched.- MidnightAura867 years agoSeasoned AceThe only videos I have seen is death by drowning and they all admitted it took a few shots to get it to occur.
- AquaGamer12127 years agoSeasoned AceNope the animation is just drowning, but they were “eaten” by the shark and pirahna.

Yep. The same thing that happened with alien abductions. Now it's impossible to get an abduction! - Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned AceYeah I think if you choose the sharks or piranhas that might eat your sim you are basically choosing death for them. Even then it seems like it takes a few tries. They wouldn't have to turn it down unless it's autonomous... I hope it can be autonomous for sims to jump in there but doubt it will be. I also doubt though that a sim would automatically choose what to fill the pond with so that would be the player choice protection.
I agree though whatever they do with it I hope they don't gimp it because someone didn't like their sim being eaten because they had a pond full of piranhas.
And yes I know it looks like a drowning animation.. it's okay to me. They are unlikely to put gore and blood in the Sims (but I'll bet it could be done..) "Pamtastic72;c-16810157" wrote:

People "whined" about that because it was affecting their games in a really dumb way. It's one thing to encourage more encounters with death in the game but they should make sense. The concept of someone deciding to go on a jog during a blizzard and freezing to death all for the sake of losing a couple pounds is ridiculous
