- EgonVM7 years agoSeasoned AceWell, drowning in a pond no matter what fishes are in actually makes sense to me. Jumping into suddenly cold water may make a human freeze in shock. And if they are able to move, it may be too late.
And as I have heard a lot during the summer: Don't jump into unknown waters. - TakThomas7 years agoNew Ace

Maybe make it so sims with the "very sad" moodlet decide to bathe with the sharks.
I don't think they'd put that in the game because it's too dark and makes light of depression.
It would be good if they fix up the animation when a sim is being eaten by the sharks or piranhas so that the water is covered with a hard splashing effect and then when it passes there's just a skeleton in there. - ValiantRedKnight7 years agoSeasoned Ace

Seasons made it possible for about 2 weeks after release then people started whining and now it's plum near impossible for a sim to die from weather unless you force them too. There's almost no challenging aspects to this game whatsoever.
People "whined" about that because it was affecting their games in a really dumb way. It's one thing to encourage more encounters with death in the game but they should make sense. The concept of someone deciding to go on a jog during a blizzard and freezing to death all for the sake of losing a couple pounds is ridiculous
Yeah, there’s a difference between a decent chance for death and having a dozen unplayed sims freeze to death outside a gym because one guy died and everybody else had to go see. - loubyloulou7 years agoSeasoned Ace

A lot of the Sim Camp videos show sims dying in the pond and not just by sharks and piranhas but fairies and koy fish as well.
What's happening is their drowning. I can see maxis having to tune this with a patch later. From what I've heard the death rates from drowning is high.
There are fairies in the pond??! :o - Can someone share a link to a video with this object? Just curious
- Everyone's video I saw on it said you can only die when sharks or piranhas are in it
- I wont' be adding that object to any of my sims houses anytime soon
- There is a simple solution: Put a fence around it. I made a restaurant with a pool with objects in the pool for a decoration for the restaurant but to keep everyone from jumping into it while they were working or eating I placed a fence around it and locked it. If you put a pond with sharks and a person jumps into they should die. It makes no sense for a person not to die with sharks.
- AquaGamer12127 years agoSeasoned AceYou literally have to add the fish in yourself. They don’t just spawn, so if you don’t add them in it’s just a normal pond.

I still think this was mod induced in old saves, because I tried and tried and tried to have it happen in a brand new vanilla save by playing winter on 28 days and letting my sim go about their business indoors and watching the neighborhood and by taking him to the gym and watching the outside while he worked out I side and it never once happened. All that ever happened was joggers would turn really blue going by the house and just when I thought they were done for, they would despawn. Outside the gym the would turn super blue but run very quickly indoors, no matter how long I waited. Even Simguru Nick never to my knowledge managed to recreate it, but now weather deaths like alien abductions have basically been tuned out of the game completely and we are back to nothing random ever happens, ever.
