Deceased sims disappeared off family tree?

it's culling if you aren't afraid of mods..you can use MC to control culling in the future

Oh, this is just apart of the plum culling system in the sims 4 :neutral: , and it doesn't seem like the sims team is doing much about the culling issue :( (well not much that i've seen). As @MadameLee stated, you could get a no culling mode or Mc Command Center to stop the culling (i personally recommend mc command center :) ).

If you don't like mods, something that I noticed helps is deleting all the elderly townies, or just any group of townies every now and then.

If you were playing the sim when they passed away, the sim is safe from culling. They will be safe on the family tree.

Just to make sure I understand it.

Question: Let's say that I start off with a sim that just died, there is a gravestone and their name on it. At the moment that sim takes one spot in the population. If I release the spirit, then I have the information in the family tree but they no longer count in the population nr.

If the child of that dead sim is culled then the sims above go away as well, but other than that I thought that the information would be safe then?

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong (because I'm not positive about this), but don't Sims basically disappear forever once their spirits are released? Off of family trees and everything.
If this is true, maybe that's why the parents aren't showing up in the tree?

But again, I'm not positive about this. I've never personally released spirits before, just read about others doing it and their experiences.

They disappear in the sense that you cannot bring them back to life again with the book of life or something like that. But the information is still there in the family-tree :smile: I have released the spirit of several sims and their information is still there.

I do this for townies when I know I won't be playing their household when they die and don't want to lose them in the tree.

I know this is an old thread but it pertains to an issue I am having now.

So if I release the spirit of a sim in my family it wwill not disappear? But if I leave it as a ghost and lat it be culled then it will?
