The criteria they use is whether or not the youtuber share their same opinion. I think this forum is probably the most critical of all the sims communities, and while I think it's good and important to point out flaws and suggest improvements, I find there are too many here that shun anyone who genuinely enjoys the game.
On the flip side, some of the more positive players tend to think the game shouldn't be criticized because the devs spend so much time and effort on the packs (like we're bff's with them or something? it's their JOB!), which is plumming laughable and delusional.
You haven't visited the Sims subreddit since this news broke. It looks kind of like this forum, except far more upset, with lots of swearing and some interesting new EA/Sims memes.
