Did I Just Experience a Glitch? Urgent

My Sim has three children, currently. Or, I should say three toddlers. His son is the eldest and then twin girls. For the first time in forever, I let my Sim give a concert Live, as opposed to sending him into a rabbit hole, (which keeps me at the house and able to care for the remaining Sims). There were three other adult Sims in the household, but sadly, we all know they don't take care of the babies and/or Toddlers, they barely take care of themselves! I took a risk. Well, the moment his concert was over, (and he was just across the neighborhood) I sent him home. Harmony was in the high chair, her mother standing right before it. Erik went to the fridge and grabbed food for Harmony. (I had actually sent him there to grab food for her twin, Melodie. Harmony just sat there unmoving. Mom was frozen in place as if she'd seen a ghost. I clicked on the food for Harmony to eat. Poof! In that instant Harmony was gone!. I checked the family's icons and hers was missing. So I scrolled down the entire list of messages.

Question: Does the Social Worker ever, ever, EVER, take a child/toddler out of the home A) Without notice and/or B ) without taking the others child/toddler(s) from the home?

Or, did I just experience a glitch?

I can't perceive of Melodie existing without Harmony, so I exited without saving.

Please, and thank you, in advance.

  • I have only ever had a toddler taken once, she was a twin as well. Her brother remained in the house but I did get the notification. I think it depends on how low their needs are. The fact that you didn't get a notification, sounds like a glitch. Only one getting taken, doesn't.

My scenario was similar to yours, their parents were at work at the vet clinic. When they returned home, they went to immediately care for their toddlers but one of them got taken away. I quit without saving and had no interest in playing that family after that. It's not like there wasn't anyone to take care of the kids, the household had about three generations living there at the time.
  • This is the game save I have had to restart on so many previous occasions I have simply lost count. I will just roll back a save, and prior to allowing my Global Superstar to give that live concert, I will simply cheat up all three Toddlers' needs and lock them in place, if need be. Their needs drain so quickly in this game, it's worse than Sims2. LOL I'll never give up on this family. This time around, my celebrity Rock Star, finally got his Starlight Accolade. So you see, I can't walk away …

Yes, they will take only the one child. I know MC Command Center has a setting where a neglected child can get adopted by another household if this option is turned on-maybe that's what happened. I literally just decided to start using MC Command for the first time the other day, and I immediately turned on this option in settings. Apparently MC Command is supposed to give a notification about the household that took the child.

It always bothered me that neglected children just vanished in vanilla gameplay. I only ever had it happen once, back when I used to play a vanilla game. They took away one of my twins, and I exited without saving. Since then I started using mods, but I had been hesitant to install MC Command because it is so complex. I'm glad I did.

Sorry about your Sim's concert though-I hope he can get another Starlight Accolade this time around.
  • I have MCCC set to adopt neglected children but never actually had it happen. My Sims are usually well cared for. I heard others say they got a notification so and so is hungry etc. However I don't know if that's MCCC or the game. It's never happened to me.

The notification that they're hungry is from the game. I've only seen toddlers and children get adopted (I have that setting on MCCC)when their parents died.
  • I've had my children taken away a lot and they always give a notification, even when I use testingcheats to take away my baby. Also, I'm pretty sure they're only supposed to take away the one baby who's needs were neglected.
