Did They Change the GF Meet & Greet Event?

It was fine about a week ago when i did my last one.

I'm playing my household that has famous sims right now, I will schedule one for tomorrow (sim day tomorrow, so later today) to see how they are in my game.

I just did one 2 days ago and it worked as normal. Had goals etc.

@GalacticGal when I did my 100 baby challenge I realized that all these new things in the calendar messes up the social events. You need to try and have the events when there is nothing else happening on the day. I could not even move my teens out on days that there was events on the calendar because it would not show all the world's sims to search for their dad's. Perhaps try it on a day your calendar is free of events ;)

I just set up the event on my calendar and while I was setting it up, it occurred to me that whether the event has goals or not depends on whether you tick the checkbox to make it a goaled event in the first place. @GalacticGal, are you sure you set it up as goaled Meet and Greet?

I just finished the Meet and Greet which I'd scheduled. It worked fine, with all the normal goals and ended successfully with rewards collected. I scheduled it on the same day as 2 other events, it actually overlapped one right from the start and ran into the start of the second, so that's not an issue. And I also use MCCC (which I updated today), so that's also not an issue.

I suspect you just forgot to check the box to enable it as a Goaled Event. The boxes for most events are not checked by default if you schedule from the calendar....I feel that before the update most of them were checked by default, so that may be what tripped you up. (Though I could just be remembering incorrectly).

Totally an aside, but the event it ran into the start of was the Starlight Accolades, which I finally found a mod today that sends me a notification reminder when it starts...I always forget about it.

Was there a holiday that day? The goaled events don't work during holidays.

I removed the 'holiday'. I don't like the idea of a neighborhood brawl. I do hope that's all it was. I will attempt to do the Meet & Greet on another day, where no holiday is scheduled. Thanks for the response. He ended up with a Bronze award, but it was very difficult to hold this event, not knowing what was expected from the host.

Now I'm wondering if that's the case. I'll have to be certain when I schedule the next one. I often do see a notice reminding me it's a goaled event, but I don't recall anything that would remind me. I do wonder if they did change the default? I think it should be goaled, unless the player changes it. Otherwise, perhaps it was a holiday that messed things up. I did remove the Neighborhood Brawl, which I have never played as it seems barbaric to me. So, I don't know. At least he got a bronze Accolade for his efforts. I'll have to check into it more. Phew, I thought they had tweaked it to remove the goals! Yikes.

No, I'm not sure. But, I will be from now on. I only saved because Erik at least won something for his efforts. He's one gold, twice for his Meet & Greets, but then he's always had goals to achieve. They are hard enough when you queue up actions for your Sim, who would prefer to just stand around with a goofy look on his face! I do recall in the past, getting a quick notification that this was a goaled event, however. Unless it's just early and I'm experiencing Brain Fog. :open_mouth: The first time I exited without saving, knowing something wasn't quite right. It put me right back to the morning around 11AM. I changed the bar destination, since the other town was having thunderstorms at that time. Same thing, just the timer, no goals. Oi!

He's got the Starlight Accolades coming up, (his first nomination in this save) so I'll setup another Meet & Greet for another day, making certain there's no holiday scheduled and that I check the box for goaled. Thank you for your undying support. I must be getting old …

I thank you so much for the advise, but it never used to work that way. I would get a notice, sometimes, that another event was occurring at the time chosen, so I would simply adjust the time of my chosen event. Odd that a challenge would interfere. Do you need a mod for that?
