So... Same day as my first dog became and elder :( he got the red nose fever thing. We went to the vet... Signed in, got onto the examination table... And then the vet ran out and disappeared. No...

When this happens, I generally cancel the appointment and sign in again. If this doesn't work, I cancel again and go to a different clinic. A trip to the vet's office is generally an all day thing, so I have my Sim take a vacation day. You could always purchase an examination table and treat your pet at home.
