Totally agree. The past is the past. Sims 4 has had many misleading trailers from seasons to cats and dogs to the initial console trailer which used pc footage. Most games now use a “ not actual gameplay” warning on a trailer if it’s showing exaggerated game play scenes.
I've seen that warning a lot in Nintendo games more specifically the new super smash brothers that's coming out next month. They show a lot of scenes that are definitely not part if gameplay.
@Reksoh what's truly unfair that we as consumers see this type of advertising as okay to the point where we allow this to happen in our everyday life. Why do we keep allowing companies to manipulate us into buying their products? It's really bad with kids advertisements and since this game advertises to a younger audience, who might not completely understand how the advertisement world works, I can understand why Op is so upset. It's not just adults, who are more than capable of understanding how advertisements work in our world, buying the game but kids who see the ad and want it instantly without knowing what they're getting because of the trailer. I'm not saying you're wrong either though, but coming at OP with a snarky attitude because she doesn't like how the game is advertised doesn't help the conversation. Let me also add OP never said anything about accepting other advertisements or being okay with them. This is specifically about the sims 4. With that being said I am with @simgirl1010 . Op what is the next step you want to take when it comes to the way the team advertises the game?
