Do normal interactions really raise Charisma?

I know that it does, only because I've had popups telling me my Sim's charisma went up a level. But it seems to be harder to do it that way. I've only seen it with Sims who are always out partying at clubs and stuff. The rest of my Sims, if I don't have them practice speech at a mirror, just always have low charisma.

Romantic ones rise it faster.

Yes it does. Unfortunately, if you ask me. I don't want all my sims to become such smooth talkers simply through casual chitchat with their friends/family at home. I often find myself having to reduce the charisma skill for this reason. It's fine when it's in character, but sometimes I don't want a sim to be perfectly charming and articulate.

They do but the ones with sunglasses are much quicker

I don't think all the friendly interactions do. My sims that don't focus on it only get about 3 or 4 levels in it. I think interactions like deep convo, discuss interests, & tell story are what really raises it casually.

Only the sunglass interactions. I hate charisma, and I rarely do the sunglass interactions and I have Sims that never even get the charisma skill.

So that's what those sunglasses mean in the dialogue topics. Two years of playing and only now I get it. Thanks for the info

Idk what all these introverted emos are talking about but... I love charisma. I thrive from it. And I have heard that only the kanye west sunglass interactions raise charisma, but I never really pay attention enough to notice if it raises from normal interactions. But I think it does. There is only a few sunglass interactions and my sims charisma raises regardless... IN the end does it really matter? go to a mirror.

Yes, telling a joke gives the Sim a first charisma skill point by default. That is proof the friendly interactions (like joking) raises the skill bar.

I raise it really fast — I use MCCC. :o I know, I'm bad. LOL
