- mitchiebanjoRising RookieI don't want to play your idea of the game. I want to see what EA has in store. Everyone was so gung ho for laundry. Waste of a game pack. Everyone wants babies to be freed from the bassinets. Boring. Babies are helpless and needy. They aren't going to become interesting until they are toddlers. I love the vampire pack. I think it's the best thing they have ever done. Let them come up with something new and different. Everyone wants the same stuff that was done in previous iterations. Again, boring.

Honestly every single time I see someone demand for occult content to be nerfed in an occult pack (because apparently that makes sense) I want to just demand for random non-occult things in packs to get nerfed too. Nerf the festivals. Nerf the kids asking their parents for advice. Nerf the cats and dogs. Nerf the chickens. Nerf jungle exploring. Nerf holidays. Just nerf everything that is getting in the way of my occult shenanigans. Seems pretty fair if you ask me! :|
It might be simpler snd more fair to just add a toggle. Some of us buy the packs mostly for the worlds or build buy., and honestly the more sales EA gets for occult packs, the more you are going to see being made. Though, I have never been bothered really ( even upon an occult packs first release ) with a few occult’s around, doing what they do, but personally I don’t like to see a lot of occult’s around….. it tends to spoil the uniqueness of the occult if there are too many of them running around in the game. I would much rather have a special few around, and of course ones I might create and use. - SheriSimSeasoned Hotshot

We didn't have to riot for toddlers so there are other ways to get heard. Just have to be consistent with asking and be nice about it if you can. I mean we got a farm pack thanks to customer demand, so demand isn't always a bad thing. It keeps the Sims 4 going. I do like a bit of realistic and fantasy with the Sims. I do know there are quite a number of Gurus that are occult fans, so there is hope with that.
There was quite an uproar with people wanting toddlers. I remember how upset people were when ‘Get Together’ came out, and they were expecting toddlers…… now because of the usefulness of the club system and the beautiful world in ‘Get Together’ , it is seen as quite a popular pack, but many people were very angry that wanted toddlers back then. I wanted them too, the same as I want real babies so badly now, but, I don’t get angry ( maybe disappointed ), when something other than I want comes out. I usually find something in each pack or big update that is useful to me.
I hope they fix plants reverting though….. that causes me lots of problems. - SEREFRASSeasoned VeteranI want my Fairies, Genies & Werewolves. Who's with me.

We can be as loud as they want, but they won't listen to anything unless lilsimsie agrees with it.

How can you say something so controversal yet so brave. - atreya33Seasoned AceNot sure if a riot helps but occults are not given the attention they need in this version of the sims. I remember the good old days in sims 2 and 3 where every pack had some occult lifestate to go with the 'realism' part of it. I hate how the packs are now split in realism vs supernatural.
The quality of the occults in sims 4 is ok, the problem is that they are released at such a painfully slow pace. If it takes two years to get another occult lifestate, than the sims 4 needs to run for at least 10 years just to get the basics. - GracieFace312New SpectatorOccult Sims are Sims too!
- Occults are 100% not my jam (and my single biggest wish for an upcoming patch is a toggle to turn aliens off since they were an unwelcome side effect of Get to Work), but it is no skin whatsoever off my back for occult players to have more ways to feel like they're getting the best experience possible—if EA wants to release a $20 Game Pack that gives occultists everything they want and more, that's great! I mean, I'll keep my $20 and spend it on dinner instead, but that's just it—I have that choice and so should everyone else.

Yeah working on getting that fixed talking with the Gurus about it and trying to let the QA Gurus especially know about it which is actually a different team than those that work on the packs themselves. I found out the marketing team is different from the Gurus too which was interesting. I think it helps knowing who to talk to especially the team they work on to get things done. Thankfully I hung out the EA silence on toddler threads, people kept coming in to derail the thread to get it closed that claimed to be realism players, so why I take the label with a grain of salt. Why I don't go for the realism vs. fantasy idea myself because both playstyles tend to overlap a lot. Not everything fantasy is occult. I mean there are some people that prefer dressing up in animal outfits which I relate to werewolves of transforming oneself into an animal. Roleplaying is big in the Sims community especially for content creators, so of course I see the game changers dress up in their favorite occult. Roleplaying is roleplaying whether it is in costume or not. Journey to Batuu proved that costumes well don't sell as well as the occult counterpart. So sales are very telling on which themes are more popular and well besides the latest EP, realism packs really haven't been that popular. The roleplaying/occult packs are. Sales speak louder than assumptions. Now mix both well and yep they attract more players that are interested in both. Sims 4 well just hasn't done well at mixing both well so far. Why there is always this push and pull of realism and fantasy players, the formula of both hasn't been done really well yet. But yeah rioting doesn't get content, conversations do. sparkfairy had many conversations with the Gurus about toddlers and thanks to her leadership we got them.
Well, like I mentioned I buy all the packs. There are always things I find in the occult packs I like, even though I don’t normally play occult’s. I think they did the ‘Get to Work’ aliens pretty well, but they didn’t even let us build on sixam, or give us any special build buy things for them, I probably would play a family of aliens if they had. The ‘fake’ aliens on Batuu don’t bother me because I look at it as more of a theme park with workers wearing costumes there. But, for those who would like real aliens with the pack ( like my daughter was hoping there would be ), it is sad. The thing that bothers me about Batuu is that they could have at least added an actual hotel there where our sims could actually spend the night, and added a couple of lots were we could build and put a restaurant and or a lounge or nightclub there for vacationers also.
I’m kind of surprised that the realism packs don’t sell well, I would figure EA would have the Dev’s mostly making packs that were most requested, and it seems like there are a lot of realism players, but it also seems like there are a lot that like to play occult’s too. I think you are right the mix is not quite there in the sims 4. I believe they should have made toggles for occult’s/fantasy etc. right from the start, I think more realism players would have bought the packs. Like you mentioned, some like to play both, but perhaps in different saves.
