For those not having CL, I assume this asian addition will be nice. No CL = no chopsticks, this new addition is for all, not only those with CL.
Technically, they could have added the chopsticks for everybody if they wanted to.
Technically they could patch all EP's into the game and not only we'd all be mad we spent our money to get them EA wouldn't make any money off of them anymore or suture content at that if they were to just patch everything. Not very good logic you have there. The chopsticks are part of the City Living DLC if you want them buy the EP.
If someone gets enraged because of some tiny chopsticks being patched into the game.... Lol. That's beyond silly. All I did was point out that it was possible to make them usable for everyone. I was responding to someone who implied that if EA added chopsticks, they could only be used by owners of the EP. It's not like it hasn't happened before (i.e. photography.) Big deal.
*ETA: And when photography was added, I wasn't mad one bit. A few freebies isn't comparable to patching in an entire EP. To me, it's similar to being pissed because you paid full price for something while someone else got it on sale. :D - janysesNew ObserverAnyway, I'd rather have consistency in the game. That's more important to me than pouting about a small bit of content that someone might get for free. :/
- ladybreidNew Spectatormeh, free is free.
Personally I eat most things with chopsticks because I have this beautiful set I love using and it reminds me of a happy memory. No one else in my house chooses the chopsticks over flatware though. "Netzspannung;c-16944783" wrote:

I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I'm just upset because there's not enough bug fixes and the 'free' items seem rather bland. I feel like such a fool continuing to support this game when the content is so disappointing.
Whatever. It's fine. I'll see if I can mod it so they eat with chopsticks.
Your comments (or rather the tone) make a lot more sense if your frustration is with the game/content in general and not with a dish of dumplings added with a free update. You should not support the game as long as you're not satisfied, that would make me feel foolish as well. That is why nothing can make me buy the MFP pack, not even a sale. Otherwise I am happy with the game though. A game like The Sims will always have bugs because new content is being added constantly. With my playstyle I rarely experience anything game breaking. But I am sorry, if you do. Hope things get better for you or you find another game to play!
Yeah, the chopsticks thing is just one thing in a long list so it just kinda set me off. Like when you get mad at something silly because you've been holding something in for too long.
We've gone so long without new content and Get Famous was such a miss for me (and so badly implemented) I just don't know why I keep playing the game. I want it to be good so badly, but there's so many problems and so much of it is lackluster. I just feel like this team is just stringing me along, promising many things but delivering bland content that gets old fast.
For a $500 dollar game, I'd expect it to be good.
I feel cheated. The trailers all seem to make the game so good, but when you play it you realize that all sims have the same personality, that nothing really matters since all sims end up wealthy/good mannered, that sims don't have actual interests or aren't attracted to anyone specifically. It's all random and meaningless. And so many cut corners. Registers aren't functional, sims don't stand in line or look through clothes like TS2, the vending machine in Cats and Dogs is not animated, there's like 3 selfie poses for all sims, children can't garden, adults can't play voidcritters, no snow accumulation and no rain effects dripping from roofs, snowball fights are boring, they keep reusing the woohoo bush and vending stalls instead of adding new things. Reused animations for the design tablet instead of making a proper desk tablet for drawing. No package delivery and instead objects are instantly delivered to one's inventory. babies are an object and ugly. Teens/YA/adults/elders are all the same. So many giant objects that don't even fit in lots instead of making normal objects: observatory instead of telescope, giant arcade machine instead of a small individual one, cupcake machine instead of small cupcake maker for homes, giant toddler gym instead of toddler walkers. No pool games or lounge chairs or different ways to swim. Adults 'teaching' kids to swim by sitting on the side of the pool and talking to the kids instead of acutally teaching them hands on.
Just. So much.
I'm tired of this game being like this. I wouldn't mind them making chopsticks basegame. If they're implementing asian foods they should use chopsticks. Using forks doesn't make sense to me (not to mention that the fork eating animation is a mess-- sims don't hold forks correctly. They eat like children )"ladybreid;c-16944878" wrote:

it's really not, though. Free means you don't pay anything for it, but it requires base game, obviously so it is not free. Plus, TS4 is marketed as a live service, meaning that they're supposed to add fixes and content every month instead of it just being a one time deal thing. That's why they released the base game so empty and eventually added pools and toddlers. It's not a gift, it's what they were supposed to do. Plus, making new content such as the new foods takes up part of the budget that comes from sales of expansions. We *are* paying for it, albeit indirectly.- chopsticks are actually quite a significant part of CL; they have animations, a hidden trait, and sort of a hidden skill so it's not surprising to me that they didn't decide to make all that free for the dumplings.
- Nindigo79Seasoned Novice@DreamaDove What is wrong with paying for the base game? You make it sound like the whole thing should be free. Also, as far as I know, there are bugfixes in each and every patch. You make it sound like that bugs are never fixed.
- EA_RtasCommunity ManagerOk folks we're getting off topic again, the thread isn't about the price of the game or whether its worth it or not. Please stay on topic.
- AirakaleNew SpectatorI would feel mortified if all of a sudden all my sims could use chopsticks perfectly while I, a Chinese who was born and raised in China, never mastered the art of chopsticks?
Seriously tho never seen any non-Asian able to use chopsticks so I guess animation for spork is more realistic? - HermitgirlNew SpectatorI don't want chopsticks to be default utensils just because a food is Asian or Asian inspired. It's almost insulting really to assume that everyone is going to try to learn and master it just because they cooked it.. or worse yet as @Airakale suggested just suddenly be great at handling chopsticks. If they did patch something like that in I'd want a choice of what utensils my sim decided to use and frankly that's getting really complicated to even imagine. We need some Asian food that can be eaten with flatwear also.
I agree with @Sigzy05 if you want sims to learn and master chopsticks there is a pack that has that. I wouldn't care if it was patched in, not saying that...but would still want the option to eat at least some Asian foods with flatwear so I don't see the point in doing that because of one freebie.
