With just about every welcome wagon, my Sims have gotten a fruitcake, and every time they've eaten it, they've hated it. Has anyone here ever had a Sim that actually LIKES the fruitcake? Does it depend on their traits, maybe?

There's a hidden "Likes Fruitcake" trait, which gives a +2 happy moodlet from eating fruitcake. It's totally random whether or not a Sim will end up with that trait, but most don't have it. Two of mine have had it, though.

I would say about 15% of my sims like the Welcome Wagon Fruitcake. All of them love the ones my maxed out, essence of flavor cook makes, those are good fruitcakes.

The best is when the Sim who brings it over (I assume it's the cook) hates it too, lol.

Both my current sims like it. So cool, love the happy +2 bonus for eating it. This is the first time I've had two sims in the same household who both like it. They often autonomously talk about how good it is!!

Doesn't it have something to do with the fruitcake bearers being bad cooks? I know the few times they've brought it over, it was usually a sim with very low skill levels. Either way, I always throw it away asap :)

Heheh. I detest the stuff but I do know there are people who actually like it. It does get a pretty bad rap, though. :D

I get the feeling my joke may have gone awry so I apologize if I offended anyone. I really was teasing since fruitcakes tend to be the butt of a lot of jokes. Though I still don't like the stuff.

No no no. Fruitcakes are never actually baked. They're regifted. Repeatedly.

Bummer! Of course sims can bake fruit cake in the stove oven.

I was joking. Every fruitcake I've ever had or been given was as heavy as a brick and tasted like it was decades old.

A kid in my game likes it. He has the gloomy trait. Everyone else in his family dislikes it.

Yes! I had a household eat fruitcake today. One Sim got a positive moodlet and then got the interaction to "Enthuse about Fruitcake". :)

Yes, and I even have long suspected that whether two Sims agree about fruitcake is a good indicator of their compatibility in a relationship.

I must have some odd luck in game then because I have had several who got a positive buff from the "fruity deliciousness" and I think they have better relationships with other Sims when they also love fruitcake.
