Do sims ever go to the Theme Park on the Boardwalk?

They can't make them actual lots because of the scripted events that take place there.

I hope they learn for the sims 5 to make sure people spawn and use these type of lots ( like they do at the festivals in San Myshuno ). The amusement park should at least be busy on weekends, and for a several hours at night during the week.

My guess is they’re worried that as more content is added everyone’s computers have to work that much harder. City Living and those all came early so there wasn’t as many packs so player’s computers could handle the stress of having lots of sims everywhere. Now the game is massive and computers are working harder than ever to run the game. I think they’re trading off the number of sims in the newer worlds to compensate.

This shouldn't be an excuse, although I fear that you're right about The Sims 4. In a well designed system it shouldn't matter how many worlds there are, since they are not all loaded at once. And it shouldn't matter how many relationships Sims that are not even present have etc. But here we are with relationship culling and everything...

It's as if we would say "oh, of course this streaming service takes a lot of time to load videos because they added so much more content to the platform" :D

But another thing is: they just didn't invest time/money to create specific events/situations for this world. The CL festivals are all individually done, but for the pier they just recycled the vendor and any other Sim is just doing whatever the lot they spawn on makes them do...

@DaniRose2143 while I hear your point about City Living being and earlier expansion pack, and the game not being as enormous, I still think, while the game is on, all of the other packs being dormant,(not being use), do not impact the game performance. I think they could have made Tomarang a lot more bustling just like San Myshuno. I while I was trying to play in it thing weekend, I noticed they traded less lots (and sizes) for these other spaces which act like parks, temples, sanctuary, beach, playground lots. I think @flauschtrud noting the festivals and activities missing, maybe a park of why it's not bustling. That aspect of programming they did not add. And I don't see what would be so hard to make a physical temple you can walk in and experience like that spot for the festivals in Sulani. I was staring at the lot and noting I can could make one. Why couldn't they make it like the theme park. Literally my family had to go in one at a time. Same with animal sanctuary, Same with boats. I see the concept was there but they didn't fill it all out.
@FlamingoKicker1 Ever since I got THY it is always bad weather when I go to high school. Like always without fail. I have to cheat the weather. At first the amusement park was not full, but a few others than my group there. Lately, no one but they group I came with.

Tomarang loaded in nearly every single day rainy or cloudy if I didnt adjust it with some kind of cheat. I don't know if it's deliberate to explain the lack of people passing by, but I wish was better weather.

I agree with your guess :) I just wanted to point out that what we experience with the game is not normal but a symptom of bad design choices. I empathize a lot with the developers. I'm sure there are many that want to improve things but do not get the time to do so. I've been in this position myself and it's difficult to convince decision makers that customers might actually value performance and reliability more than new features.

@LeucosiaX I'm no computer expert but I thought all packs and all content are active all the time. You have a point too about the festivals, I don't recall new ones, not active ones, since Cottage Living. I don't use the festivals as much as I did in the past in my current stories so maybe there are more than I know because I'm kind of ignoring all of them and doing my own lately. But at the same time Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, and Windenburg never had festivals and they never had a problem with looking dead. I wonder if there's something written into the code for the newer worlds to limit the number of sims that spawn in a world?

@flauschtrud I'm sorry if it came across like I was arguing.? TS4 has had quirks and it's been famously temperamental since the day it launched, and now by itself it's accounted for over one-third of The Sims franchise's existence. Delays in getting TS5 into development haven't helped, thank you Covid. Instead of being the longest running title it probably should have been retired by now. I love this game with all my heart but it's been flawed all along and I'm amazed that the devs have kept it running and keep adding on to it this long and that they intend to keep it going for another year or two at least.

I agree you with totally, hats off to the devs. They're working miracles with what they have, and as many titles as EA has it must be a dog eat dog contest between the various teams to get the biggest share of funding for their respective titles so they can make their particular game the best it can be.
