Do Vampires Visit Other Neighborhoods Autonomously?

I'm not keen on Supernaturals. I prefer to play family/realistic styles. That said, there seems to be quite a few cool new items in this pack (which is mainly why I would get it). Could you tell me...

I have one save where I went to forgotten hollow and played there a lot. I turned a few sims and had non vampires visit the new area. I see vampires in that save on a regular basis.

I have another save where I have not touched forgotten hollow or anything to do with vampires and I have yet to see any. This doesn't mean that I won't see any but at the moment there is nothing going on.
