I love adding clutter to my houses because it makes them look much more alive and less boring. Whenever I add clutter to my houses, I never have a problem with having to balance functionality and clutter, everything in my houses look pretty and work perfectly.
I don't feel like there is too much clutter and if you ever need more, then the debug objects cheat is amazing.
