Do you ever cheat a sim's skills for story/character reasons?

I do this all the time when setting up certain households. I cheat up some skills, apply some traits, and even promote them in certain careers if I know it is meant to fit how the household starts out as. Financial matters I rarely touch that unless the sims in question are supposed to be financially comfortable. Otherwise I make them earn that moolah!
