Do you ever kill a sim because they’re just okay?

Okay hear me out here. I just fed my sim Phoebe’s wife to the cow plant because I didn’t really feel a connection to her like I did with Phoebe, she just kind of bored me. (Plus she had the jealous trait so she was a little annoying.) and they didn’t really feel like soulmates so I just was like “yup you’re dead now.” I haven’t purposely killed a sim in a while so I feel a little guilty, (plus they have a baby together so now she’s a single mom, oops.) So anyway, my point is- do you ever kill your sims because they bore you a little? Or do I just have the insane and evil traits?

Edited because of grammar

I've never actually gone through with killing a sim, but I have had some incredibly strong urges to.

Not so long ago, I came so close to killing my sim's husband. For literally no reason whatsoever (his needs were perfect, his relationship with his son was maxed out, and he wasn't in a negative mood), he refused to hug his son. This was the first time I had ever seen a sim reject a toddler, and let me tell you, it was heartbreaking. I was in a state of shock for a solid ten seconds, but once it subsided, I was SO mad. I've been mad at sims before, but this was a whole other level. I even thought of having my sim (his wife) divorce him for being a bad daddy, but I never got around to it. :grimace: I could only conclude that since he was "Focused" at the time, he must have been very preoccupied with planning out new ways to nap (he had the Lazy trait). :rage: Aaannnnddddd...I just realized I'm still mad about it. :joy:

The same thing happened to me between my toddler and her mom. I totally get where you're coming from. I was livid! I couldn't help but think, why would they even be programmed to reject their own child?? The mother even had the family-oriented trait, and they were both in a happy mood. I didn't really consider killing her off, not seriously anyway, but I made sure she was miserable for the next few days, lol. In any case, that toddler is now YA, and they have a good relationship.
  • The only times I might intervene and cause a death is if I'm doing a challenge or something short term. I always think of these as temporary games and get deleted once the challenge is done.
On my regular saves, I really get invested in my sims and I don't purposely cause deaths or anything too tragic. I think the only time was when I downloaded a sim from the gallery as I needed a maxed skill retail employee. She turned out to be a stalker, always appearing where my married sims happened to be, and always ringing up the husband. They had no romance bar and friendship was in the red, yet she calls saying something like opposites attract!? She just got too creepy for me but I couldn't be bothered orchestrating her death, so I just deleted her. What can I say, I'm very protective!
  • I have a couple times but the last time I did was only to get the Grimm Reaper added to my town. Baha he now lives in Forgotten Hollow.
  • I did that to my sim Richmond. He's one of my favourites, and his wife just wasn't living up to that (I wanted them together for shallow reasons and it wasn't working). So I offed her and her whole family line. I like to think Richmond went a bit bonkers as a result.

She was ruining my enjoyment of playing him, so I cut the cord and saved Richmond instead.

But I still feel a bit bad about it.

I kill off some sims who I thought were very boring/basic. I'm very sadistic so I don't care. I killed a child with the evil trait because he kept annoying my sim. :D
