You don't, You have to make Your own or download a premade from the gallery. a new world with restaurants would've been awesome though
  • Hello
There isn't a new world that comes with Dine Out. There are pre built restaurants that come with the pack that you can place in your game if you would like to. They are found in your library.

You can also download restaurants from the Gallery or bulld your own.

Thank you all. I'm still undecided whether to get it or not

Hello :) These are guides to the pack, which may help you to decide whether you would like to purchase it.

  • I've put restuarents in Willow Creek,Oasis Springs,New Crest,Magnolia Promanade,Windenburg and even Granite Falls.
  • Even to not play a restaurant owner I still enjoy playing with restaurants. They are a nice setting change/destination IMO. I also think dineout will improve with city living with the added menu items to make more specific restaurants.

You can still use your same Sim!
  • As the threads above say, there is no new neighborhood with the Dine Out game pack. However, with that said, this is my favorite game pack for the Sims 4!

1.) Get Together works well with this pack. I'm not sure if you have Get Together, but if you do, let me tell you, I had created a Foodie club who go to restaurants during their club gatherings and gain points for socializing and eating and it's one of my favorite clubs to play. I have all of my sim's close friends in the club so that way they can all keep in touch, all while enjoying a meal!

2.) New Date Type. Another great thing about Dine Out is that it comes with a new date type. There is a "dinner date" in this pack with goals such as ordering food, have deep conversations, talk about meal, and flirt with date. I've had many of sims propose after a meal at a fancy restaurant.

3.) Birthdays. A cool feature is that you can order a cake for the table, and have a birthday for your sim to age them up in style. To really make it interesting, hold a prestige birthday event at a restaurant.

4.) Efficiency of NPCs. The restaurant mechanics have greatly improved from Sims games in the past. I was impressed on the reliability of the NPC sims, whether it's timely seating from the host, a server coming over to take your order, and unless there are lots of sims in the restaurant, your sim usually gets their food fairly quickly. Watch out though, a bad cook can give you poorly made food (which you can actually complain to your server about), and servers who are clumsy can drop food on your sims and then they have to remake everything, just like in real life.

5.) Menu Selection/New Foods/New Lots: You can customize the menu if your sim owns their own restaurant. There are also premade restaurants in your library that have customized menus as well. This pack gives you more lots than I've seen in any pack I remember, and there are different types of premade restaurants with themes. There is a diner that serves breakfast foods and sandwiches, a seafood restaurant, a fine dining restaurant with meals such as steak and roast chicken, and an "experimental" food where your sim can learn new recipes to food found nowhere else, such as Artisan Fish Trio and Vertical Berry Cake. You can choose beverages, which are different from restaurant to restaurant. You can order a drink and either an appetizer, main course, or dessert for each sim at the table. Watch out though, the whole table's bill is paid by your sim, but there are some cheap options. Here's a link to all the premade menus: https://aboutsims.com/sims4-guides/470-sims4-dine-out-presets-and-customized-menus.html

Drawbacks: Alas, with any Sims pack, there are going to be flaws.
-Sometimes after sims are sat, they will get up and leave the table. Luckily there is an option to make everyone sit at the table again, but it is something I wish I wouldn't have to force.
-I haven't ran a restaurant as a business yet (believe me, it's on the to do list!), but I heard that staff is difficult to manage. If it's anything like running a bakery in Get to Work, it is challenging dealing with staff, but I think the mechanics are better than Sims 2 Open for Business.
-Restaurants take up a lot of sim time. Plan on your sim spending at least 3 to 4 sim hours to eat at a restaurant.
