Do you have to sign up with a "Talent Agent" like previous Sims games?

I'm looking for how to get started "getting famous" or going into the acting career.  Is there a talent agent you have to sign up with like in "Superstar" or does your sim just go about their daily lives being mahvelous and people will just notice them or what?

No. You can just do whatever interactions give Fame to start building up your fame. There are agencies but they're tied to the acting career and nothing else.

If you join the acting career you will be given an option to change to pick a talent agency. The agency is specifically for acting.
