I got seasons with the Get Famous expansion, so this is all new to me and I'm struggling to decide whether to take the time to store and re-use decorations or just use the lovely build mode hammer to get rid of them when a season ends. I'm thinking from a standpoint of bills, it makes sense to just get rid of them unless playing with the shorter season-lengths. What do you all do?

I always keep the box with the decoration options somewhere in the house (laundry room, or an odd hidden corner for example), the rest, I sell and buy each year. I thought about doing the inventory thing but I never did it, I don't really celebrate many holidays anyways.

@AlbaWaterhouse, sounds like what I think I've decided to do as well. I put in a basement pretty early in the game just for keeping that decoration box stack in. More down there now, but originally it was the main thing. I almost built an attic for it instead but that was more expensive. :p

I like the decorations box to rummage for freebies, put up lights and take them down after the Holiday. Sometimes I'll keep a rummaged decoration if I like it, but usually sell most of them. I don't abuse rummaging though, only do it once. So, I mostly just keep the decorations box in the household's inventory and bring it out for any Holidays my Sims celebrate.EDIT: BTW Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow U.S. Simmers! *gobblegobble*

I put some in the attic or basement when not in use. But I must add that I decorate only a handful of my houses, I play rotationally (50 households), can't decorate them all. Some don't even get a chance to celebrate the holiday :)

I always just sell/rebuy them. I have my seasons set to 28 days so I have looots of time before each holiday happens and it never feels like a chore.

Results so far are really evenly split, guess there isn't one clear "this way makes more sense."
I especially have to chuckle that several have voted for the bottom option, I'm glad I thought (albeit at the last minute) to add that one.

There's a fifth option. Make a basement or even a subbasement and put all the decorations in there. Doesn't even need stairs leading down into it, and it keeps my family inventory from getting too full.

@SimTresa, that's actually what I was mostly doing. I don't see that as a 5th option though, more like it falls under option 1 except without using the family inventory. I guess I shouldn't have worded the option quite so specifically.

I have a basement room that I keep all the yearly decorations in. That way I can just drag them out when needed. But most of the time I'm too lazy to decorate in the first place. I get paranoid about putting stuff in the inventories.

I think when I start playing with Seasons, I will sell and rebuy each year. I'm not looking forward to the skyrocket in bills and since what is sitting in your home or in your Sims' inventories counts towards the bills, I want to do everything I can to keep it under control.
Of course if you're living in an apt, this won't be an issue.

I put the christnas tree in the inventory (or basement if they have one). I change the theme of the other decorations depending of the season/ holiday or I use one swatch, that doesn't look like a particular holiday and let it be the whole year ?‍♀️

I used to keep them all, but once my family had enough disposable income (so much that I didn't know what to do with it), I just sold them and re-bought them.
