I'm too lazy to make new sims for partners, so I usually use npcs. I try and move away from premades most of the time unless I'm fond of them.
I always cas edit my newly generated townies now since after a while they sort of generate the same few faces--but I never intend certain ones for my heirs. Everyone's free game--well, not everyone, since I try not to pair up distant relatives--and I usually go for whoever they get along with best relationship wise since genetics on my main family tree is already a trainwreck :joy:
