Always! And not just my simself, but also my sister, parents, friends, etc. My entire family knows this, and sometimes they even ask me how their sims are doing. I find this a lot more amusing than playing with completely original characters, especially when one of those sims does something in my game that the real version would never do, or the opposite, when some of the sim's actions or behaviours that I don't really have control over turn out to be extremely similar to the real person's, as if the game knew who they are.
A few years ago, I tried to hook up the sim versions of my cousin and her practically-husband in TS2 while the cousin and a few other family members were watching, for some reason this relationship was tougher to build than usual, and the problematic things that kept happening - by chance! - totally reflected their initial problems in real life. It was almost creepy, but still fun!
But back to topic, TS has always been about escaping reality for me, and sometimes, especially at the end of a rough day or after a frustrating incident, when I start questioning the reason I even exist, it can be the most relaxing thing in the world to just sit there and accompany a version of myself that doesn't have the same problems and can generally lead a better life. Granted, that doesn't actually solve my problems, but everyone has their own personal drug, right?
