Thanks! ๐
Wait, what? You kept a number of amazon boxes so you could use them one day to move? ๐ฎ Dedication right there! I wish I had that type of storage to be able to keep several dozen of those lol. That being said, yeah, that much for 10 boxes is a joke LOL. We actually have a company here that will literally pack up your stuff for you (which actually did that for our mom since you know...), and that cost 3 grand. So we definitely would not have spend money on boxes even if we could. It's ridiculous to think that someone would think it's a good idea. I dunno know, rich people don't care I guess.
How... are they even in business? ๐คจ lol. I've never in my entire life seen a beehive, and typically people would not move a beehive. Too much can go wrong. ๐ And I agree, I'm not a fan of honey either. Unless I'm sick, then I may mix honey and tea, or honey and peanut butter (toasts). I'm not grossed out by foods in general or anything, but I usually don't like things that are either too sweet or too salty. It's like when you buy chips, traditional chips are VERY salty, which is why I tend to buy less salted chips. As for food that may have sugar like muffins etc., I do NOT accept food like that from coworkers. I did twice, and found myself disgusted, while everyone else thought they were amazing. Never again.
And you made me think of Lisa in her 80s dancing garb while she was dancing to 80s music. I think? lol. It's been decades since I saw that episode.
@Midevil_Chaos I flattened any boxes that I got from around September to February time, and built them up again with some scotch tape. Suffice to say though I'm a bit of a hoarder (just in case I need it, is my excuse). ๐ I certainly don't have as much space in my new house compared to my old one. I don't know if you've seen how large amazon pantry boxes are, but just two of them not flattened is enough to fill my entire house, Lol. Lowkey though, just one amazon pantry box could fill a medium size family home. They. Are. Huge *Donald Trump Impression*
As for the bees, I think the website was just a beekeeping specialist website. It didn't offer a service, just many pages on beekeeping, and how to give your bees a new bee box, and moving bee boxes like a professional. ๐ I plant flowers that bees like in my garden, but don't have a bee box, nor have I seen one in person myself, but kudos to them for looking after such cute stinging pollinators! ๐
I too love most food, I'm quite a foodie, but like you, I dislike overly sweet things, or way to salted, I also don't like it when chips are overly flavoured too. Take the cheese and onion flavour for example, I love onion, and love cheese but I'm eating chips here and I'd like the taste the potato, which I also love! Love isn't strong enough word for the way I feel about onions and potatoes. (How Irish of me ๐) My ancestors and me agree on food choices.
And yes! The Simpsons is legendary. It really is the show that paved the way for all mature cartoons like Family Guy, South Park, and so many more! I always think The Simpsons is a family friendly show with a mature twist, and others after that got inspired and realised cartoons can be for anyone of any age. ๐ โฟโ โฟโ โฟ

I get some Amazon packages, but the only boxes I've seen are standard size lol. So... what do you order that is SO massive in size? If it fills up an entire room, THAT is one huuuuuge box LOL. I couldn't imagine any of those boxes fitting through a door. ๐
I don't like bees, they are hurtful *me/ shaking fist a bees*. I remember when I'd get stung when I was a child, my grandmother would use soil to get the dart out. How or why, I don't know lol. It worked, that's all I know. ๐คฃ
For chips, I don't mind flavours as much, depending on the actual flavour, but the salt? God, that is horrible if it's too much of it. Otherwise, some flavours can be overpowering for sure. I've tasted several and they are meh. What perplexes me is how we have some flavours that other countries don't have, like Ketchup flavoured chips. Mind you, they actually taste good. ๐ When I heard channels in the US talking about Canadian chips as foreign food, I was confused as to how US companies sold us those types of chips, but not in the US. At least, not for a long time.
I absolutely love South Park. It's just one of those shows that doesn't care about political correctness. The Simpsons stopped being the Simpsons for me once they upgraded their tv to a flatscreen, got a laptop etc. How do you go from a kid having a tube tv to magically having a flatscreen tv and a modern laptop? After that, it lost its magic. That, and I vastly prefer(red) Futurama. At least with Futurama, everything is futuristic, so they could be like: "here's a new type of tv or stadium grass" or whatever, and it would make sense because they are literally a millennium ahead of us.
I didn't realize you had Irish roots too :D ๐ Do you have red hair? I've got a red beard, though I am lazy at times when it comes to trimming it down or shaving it lol.

@Midevil_Chaos I seriously only ordered a couple bottles of diet cherry Pepsi, some mixed nuts, and dog treats (not for myself๐). And what was delivered was the most outrageously sized box ever. I thought at first the box was for somebody else. But when I opened it, the majority of the package was filled with a massive amount of brown paper. ๐ I might have exaggerated a bit by saying as big as a room, but not much! Lol.
Your grandmother did such a cool thing! I know bee stings hurt a lot. thankfully, I've actually never been stung by a bee, I was told to be more wary of wasps because apparently they sting more often than bees. I don't know how true that is though.๐ When I was a child I was taught If I got stung by a nettle to rub the sting with a dock leaf, it really works well too.
I know what you mean about The Simpsons, it didn't have to change that vastly, It probably ruined it's nostalgia for most people with that move. IMO it should of kept it's original innocence and shouldn't of changed the fundamentals, I watched in the 2000's and remember no crazy tech being in it, and didn't need to add that aspect to make it 'relatable' to people now. As for South Park I love it's lack of being politically correct too, and they've never changed that. My friends always liked Kenny, but I was always a Cartman fan myself. ๐ His self-centeredness and one liners are legendary! I think some series have a difficulty keeping episodes fresh especially if they've been running for years. I think that's a problem with Family Guy in particular, I watched a newer episode recently, and it's so different to the old set up. I thought some jokes were just not funny IMO, the older episodes I still enjoy though. I started watching originally in the 2000's because I thought Peter reminded me of my Dad. ๐คฃ much to his disappointment, as people said he looked like a young Robert Redford.
And no, I'm not a red head but almost all of my dad's family are, him included. I'm blonde, well dark blonde with highlights. if anyone asks if it's my natural color, I don't tell them some of it's not! ๐คฃ I get my coloring from my grandma she was always fair. My grandad on the other hand, had black hair with dark eyes. Opposites attract was very true in their case! In personality too. ๐ Wow, Ramble over! ๐คฃ

Katie be like *Katie/ ordering random foods for random neighbours, dog/cat/bird food for people she doesn't know, so she can get free shipping for the single can of peanut butter she buys* ๐ Living the life, aren't you? But... I have to ask, did you re-use the brown paper? Not that it matters, I'm just curious. ๐คฃ
Oh yeah, my grandma was THE best woman ever. I remember when she would made a bunch of desserts. From pies to bun like things to even jello. She was SO awesome. Not only for that reason lol, but she was always the most kindhearted woman I knew, as well as the most understand person. But to be fair though, yes I always appreciated when she made food. There was something authentic to it, and nobody else could make the food the way she made it. There was such love and care put into it, and I enjoyed that. She made everything from scratch.
She was the remnant of an older time, where women were housewives in a way which would not be possible now (for more than one reason). As far as I am aware, or at least from what I've seen, my grandfather didn't treat her any less because of that. I think she actually enjoyed that role. I think it was because she had around a dozen grandchildren, and she liked being a grandmother for all of them - I can't comment on how it was when she was a mother for her children though. That's probably why I have a lot of respect for housewives and househusbands. I've seen it firsthand how much work it was, though I also know she seemed happy in being who she was.
Yes, you are right! That's why The Simpsons became something else. I get that there a limited of things you can do creatively, but at that point, change it up by creating long side stories with secondary characters. You know, like a lengthy backstory. As for South Park, I always preferred Kyle. I think it was because I never really had many friends growing up. Even now, actually. I guess seeing him with an actual best friend for the rest of his life was something I like for a character. As for Cartman, that guy is hilarious. Both in a negative and positive way. Please tell your dad I am sorry for him that he looked like Peter. ๐ I'll feel even worse if you mother's name was actually Lois. ๐คฃ
The nicely honest part of me wants to say, "blondes are awesome!" The funnily sarcastic part of me wants to say, "my condolences for not being a redhead" Please don't hate me. ๐ As for my beard, it's completely red (in terms of the base)... as for any type of grey hair in it, no comment lol. I don't have a "5 o'clock shadow" as you call it, as I don't shave that often. I also never use a razor, which I think is the reason people have that "5 o'clock shadow" you refer to.
EDIT: Really? I had trouble seeing your post until I pressed "CTRL+R", then it popped up LOOOOL. - Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
My dad still looks like Peter IMO! Lol. And no, thankfully my Mother's name isn't Lois. ๐ I had to remove some of my reply as it was acting up big time! EA dislikes my rambling, how dare they! ๐คฃ
There really isn't anyone like your own mother and grandmother! There is no doubt IMO. They really are the best! My grandma also came from a different era too but always had to work, such a hard worker too, and a beautiful person inside and out. I agree about being a stay-at-home parent too. IMO it's way to much to have to work and look after your child/children. There's nothing like coming home from school and having your mom there! It's terrible that some parents don't have a choice in working, and just have to nowadays because bills are so high and one income or part-time isn't enough. It's a shame some people don't see raising a child/children as not a full time job, because it is indeed! I have a lot of admiration for good parents. It's amazing the difference that having just one good parent can do!
And I also love red hair it's very individual and incredibly beautiful. I have a sister with red hair and she actually doesn't like it! It's so awful when I hear of red heads being called ginger in a derogatory way! Many red heads I know dislike their hair colour, Isn't that sad? I always say how lovely red hair is, and red heads usually don't believe me. ๐
And yes! I found a way to use the brown paper. I put some underneath my dog's water bowl, and some under her food bowl. She makes a lot of mess when drinking and eating. ๐
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Speaking of people who look like people, I had a friend in high school that looked like Bobby from King of the Hill... And that was his nickname that people gave him on top of that :D I normally wouldn't ask, but I have to see a pic of your dad. It has to be hilarious having someone that looks like Peter. But... please don't tell your dad that LOL. And if EA "hates" your rambling as you put it, send me a direct msg. I think EA allows that.
It was weird for me. My parents are so different, in ways that you would think are the same, but aren't. It would take an hour to just talk about that stuff ๐ As for my grandparents, we had one grandmother and one grandfather that we absolutely adored. Whereas the other 2 were... didn't feel like grandparents. Which actually saddens me, honestly. It was so strange, because I felt like 2 of them were so amazing as people with/towards us, but the others felt more like strangers. I wish it hadn't been that way, but what can you do? That being said, I wish I could have been there when my grandfather died, but for whatever reason, my mom didn't want us there. I don't know if it was because she was afraid it would traumatize us? I wish I could have been there. With my other grandfather, I was so surprised to hear his last words (which were said to me). He told me he loved me, and I couldn't help but tell him the same thing - I couldn't bear either not saying anything or telling him things that would have been crappy. The thing is, he always felt like he didn't care about us, but maybe he just never knew how, which is so heartbreaking.
I couldn't agree more! In this modern economy, I would love for us to be able to live a freer life. I'll say this though: the younger generation do something well - they value comfort and great job perks. If they can follow through, I'm hopeful things will be better in the future. BUT! They must follow through.
If anything, it perplexes the * out of me when traditional individuals think that a man can realistically work, have kids, have a house, without his wife working. In this modern economy? That's... not feasible (at least not here). Not everyone can earn 100K+, as you have to either be very fortunate, or be extremely good at your job and/or be an "alpha" that has zero fear of anything and climbs the corporate ladder as if it's nothing. That being said, if traditional individuals can do that, great! If they're able to AND they want to do that, that's great!
It is heartbreaking that people have nothing better to do than use a person's appearance in a derogatory way. That is something I'll never understand.
I think your dog has a secret vendetta against you. What did you do? ๐

Don't worry, you didn't freak me out one bit with the Peter comment, lmao (we stan our Peter!). I know when I say it irl I get the same response. Then I simply say OMG no ๐ I don't mean like a doppelganger. Just similar to me when I watched Family Guy as a child. (Ik it's a 16, but who didn't watch tv or play games with a age limit older than them ๐) Plus I have, and have always had a cool Mom. ๐คฃ
Tbh, people always say "huh, you think your Dad looks like Peter, I can't see it". But if you know him he reminds you of him more with his ways, mainly liking a beer and being ditsy! Thankfully he actually has a human lookalike for reference, The guy who presents Restaurant Stakeout is basically 99% his lookalike. I think his name is Willie Degel, you can look him up if you don't know the show (wouldn't be surprised if you don't). ๐ I would say they are pretty much doppelgangers. And yes, I have watched that really bad show, Lol. Food Network used to be what I'd put on to to get sleepy (Sorry food network ๐คฃ)
I have quite a few lookalikes in my family, my mom could pass for Kate Bush's sister for sure! And my granddad looked a lot like Gregory Peck and my Grandma looked a bit like a fair Rita Hayworth. I also have a cousin who always gets told he looks like Keanu Reeves, Lol. I've been told I look like either Charlize Theron, Michelle Pfeiffer, or Debbie Harry. I got told that before from a couple of different people. And when I was playing the exciting game *sarcasm* of which celebrity do you look like the most. ๐ Have you ever played that game? ๐ Or just my family *Hyperventilates thinking it's not normal* ๐คฃ
And my dog is seriously just messy in general. she sees water she dives in no matter what. Even if it's basically pure mud. ๐คฃ
ใฝ(โ'โก'โ)ใThis is more on subject to the original thread too, isn't that satisfying! Or just me? I don't like it when I go off on a tangent. ๐
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Also, I'm sorry about your grandfather. it's traumatizing to lose anyone you love, pets too. It makes you feel guilty for a very long time about everything you could have done. I hope you have healed since this loss. even though you never forget the ones you've lost, try to remember the times you did have with them positively. โ
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Glad to know I didn't freak you out ๐ I'm not the best in all social situations, so it's good to know there is normal person out there like yourself. ๐
Oh ok! To be fair, it's hard to find someone perfectly similar to a cartoon created by Matt Groener lol. His cartoons are so damn hard to have a real life comparison. Glad you had a cool mom lol, mine was very protective.
Your dad could look like Peter if he was 50 more lbs, AND did specific lip movements. The guy from the tv show you mentioned... I swear, I saw a picture and in that specific one sorta looked like Peter. And I have to admit, I never watch the food channel. I'm not a foodie lol. I'm a gamer through and through... *saying that as I could be watching Sims do just that*. I've never fallen asleep watching tv, except once when I was 18, and I was watching The Crucible. Sad movie. I prefer watching the Shopping Channel where I can look at people trying to sell me things I will never buy, because they don't sell video games or other electronics XD
So, that is where they get all the look-alikes and the stuntmen/women. That makes a lot of sense, I knew they all had to grown somewhere lol. Do you happen to have a clone of David Duchovny by any chance? We could maybe reboot the X-Files starting at season 6 (I think 6 when he left). It could be nice to do that, using the same type of video from back then so it doesn't look updated or anything :D Since I know you'll ask, no I don't look like anyone except like my father XD.
I can see that, they have that same facial feature. It's hard to explain without actually showing in person lol. ๐คฃ And no, I've never played that game, but you're normal regardless ๐ Why? Because I said so ๐ As for your dog, are you sure? Maybe you did something day 1 that pissed it off. It has to be a dog vendetta. And not sure how the dog talk is not a tangent of the original post...(?) I need some explaining here concerning that LOL. Like serious explaining. Like that Julia Roberts gif with the math.
And thank you. I wished I could have spent more time with my grandfather. We lived in different provinces, so I didn't see him everyday. I wish I could talk to him once more, honestly. - Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I forgot to add, about the tangent thing... it made me think of the Big Bang Theory when they all have scotch tape and kept ripping it out from each other.
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
It's completely normal to be socially awkward at times, I often get called nosey if I want to know more about something. ๐ The majority of people I've been friends with have always been quite introverted, and it takes a bit to make them feel like they can say certain things, and not feel like they're going to be judged, or offend for saying more than 'bad weather today, huh'. ๐
I also watch a bit of QVC I have to admit, Lol. I never want to buy anything from them either, mainly because a lot of it is overpriced IMO. They do sell quite a bit of tech now though, on the shopping channels I see they sell all kinds of things. Even a humongous clay Buddha.๐ I just thought to myself 'do they actually sell any of these'. ๐คฃ
No, sadly no David Duchovny lookalikes that I know of. ๐ As for the tangent thing, I meant about the family aspect of the thread. rather than me blabbing about the size of amazon pantry boxes, complaining about the prices of cardboard boxes, and mentioning a beekeeping website. Which is quite a tangent IMO. ๐คฃ that being said, I don't really know why I put that after I said my dog's permanently messy, I should've put it before that. I just realized how confusing that is now. I'm a mystery to myself most of the time. ๐ *X-files music plays*
As for The Crucible, I've never watched it. After reading the plot I know why I haven't, Lol. It does sound like a depressing film. ๐
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Define the term, "at times". Socially normal... as if that's a thing ๐ You have to be awkward socially, that's the norm. Right? Right? No? *me/ walks away in shame*
If I may brag for a moment, I think I'm probably a lot nosey than you are. Not sure that's a good thing. ๐คฃ That being said, it seems you have a knack for finding introverted people... Surprise! I'm introverted! ๐๐๐ And I dunno, bad weather can be offensive lol. So offensive.
I actually had to Google QVC. In Canada, it's literally called The Shopping Channel. Why complicate stuff, eh dear United States? LOL. Please tell me you bought the Buddha statue. I used to have a few. I don't know where they are. I had a medium sized one, maybe around 10-12 inches in height. It was epic, he was on a turtle, why? I don't know.
Well... if no David Duchovny, was about Gillian Anderson then? That would be epic if you have at least the other partner. Just saying.
As for what you stated about babbling, naw, you're fine! I usually don't talk much to people. If I do, it's usually because that person is awesome. I usually wouldn't share this information as it's maybe embarrassing? I don't know if it is lol, but I assume some people might consider it so. I've probably spoken to you more than I have with most of my friends. ๐คฃ So random discussions are fine. Honestly, you probably know more about me than most of my friends. But hear me out! I'm usually more open online, because with people you meet first (in person), there is literally this wall (ok fine, figuratively speaking) and you have this entire thing about small talk and you sorta have to get to know them before you can become friends - adulting is hard in that regard. Whereas online, there isn't this wall that prevents you from being yourself, because if someone really wants to judge you, you move on and it's their loss. While if you get along with someone, great! In fact, I belong to a Discord server for a game I play, and we're maybe 6 or 7 in there that actively talk everyday, and we consider each other family. An online presence is something which is a blessing on occasion, because at times it's where you can meet people you get along with more than other people in your own area.
You know the term "fake it till you make it"? That's my life story socially, and I'd like to think I've become fairly proficient at it. I learnt a lot over time, and I'm better at it. Sometimes in ways that makes adulting awkward."I'm a mystery to myself most of the time" I like that. One day you have a dog, the next you have a cat and you wonder how that was possible. On the third day, you have a guinea pig and become confused. Do I have the gist of it?
Girl, you should watch The Crucible. At least once. I liked it, and considering I'm not a huge fan of those older types of movies based in the past for the most part, that one was good. To be fair, I watched it 2 decades ago. ๐ So, I am basing my assumption on a young me. - Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
@Midevil_Chaos Exactly, what is normal? ๐ There really isn't a normal, just a socially accepted manner for which is considered being normal. everyone has different ideas of normality. I never liked that word anyway it suggests boring to me. ๐
Bad weather can be very offensive! don't know why I put that, Lol. I was tired when I wrote it. and forgot last week I got caught in a hailstorm with gale force winds, suffice to say I was extremely offended, Lol.
I didn't buy the buddha, It was almost as big as the presenter. ๐ It would've been fine if he was a baby buddha. The shipping on it was accurate for the size too, Lol, you could buy a few small buddhas for the price of the shipping on a humungous one. ๐คฃ
I also don't have a Gillian Anderson lookalike that I know of either. The X-files remake might be on the backburner for now. ๐คฃ
Adulting is very difficult indeed, So I just try to avoid it as much as possible. ๐ Having a discord group is fun, I know of many, but I'm actually not in any. But people who are get very close to one another. I remember chatting to a friend who told me she's in many discords, for her many interests. She's in 2 youtubers discords, then one for her favourite soccer/football team, and one for historical fashion. One of the girls she met on a YouTube discord is one of her best friends now, they chat almost everyday. She's Australian and my friend is Dutch. I find it amazing you can talk to people all over the world. The internet can be harmful in some ways, but very positive in others. ๐
Yes, you do have the gist of it. ๐ I find myself thinking why did I even say that yesterday? Or why did I put the remote control in the fridge? Then ensures a search operation to find it, only to be shocked to find it somewhere I don't remember going. ๐คฃ
I might watch The Crucible, I've watched a couple of Winona Ryder's films, and have always been weirded out by the end of them ๐. I don't know if I can handle anymore sad endings after RDR2, I mean the first game was sad but the second was even more depressing. ๐ I try to play games that cheer me up now after that, Lol. โญ
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Well... I am normal. And most others are not normal. That's how I see it. Perhaps I am boring ๐คฃ but, what can I say? I lived a very awesomely sheltered life, or something. I'll go with that! Damn, seems like you got out of it unscathed. Damn hailstorm! Kudos! ๐
We both know the presenter was the size of a hobbit. Thus, the Buddha wasn't *that* big. Am I right? ๐ How much was the shipping? A few hundred dollars? If ever you want to gift a Buddha, I think my aunt might enjoy having one. ๐
We can make it work. Who says we need look-alikes? I look nothing like David Duchovny, and you nothing like Gillian Anderson. But, it'll awesome re-creating the X-Files. I'll see myself out now. Though, you gotta admit it'd be pretty funny to actually remake the X-Files with a low budget.
Wat's your trick when it comes to avoiding adulting? Is it hiring a bunch of younger adults ๐ and then having them do all the chores in the house? That's the smart thing to do, I mean sure, it'd be expensive, but you know.
Hold on... you're not in a Discord group? ๐ฎ That is hard to believe, considering you're probably cooler than me. ๐คฃ I am in shock to hear that you're not. Well, if ever you're looking for a random one that has good people in it, lemme know. Oh, and I will tell you a secret: I only ever use the term soccer myself. Ok, not a secret, as I will say: "you mean soccer?"
I had to re-read that twice... you placed a remote control in the fridge? I can see how you could make that mistake. People make everything look edible, I can't blame you for thinking it was food? Right, you thought it was food? Right? That would be funny. Look at it this way: you can buy cookies that are in a veggie bag, why? Because the kids won't look in a veggie bag for cookies - adulting 101 at its highest peak where something is NOT what it appears to be. At least, that's the idea behind the concept. When I saw that online, I thought that was hilarious! AND smart.
Wynona Ryder, it brings back memories. Also, I hope you've watched all current seasons of Stranger Things? Such a good show! Although if anything, I do love when she dances in Beetlejuice. I loved that movie. So good.

Also, I meant to add: I assume we're in a similar timezone. Seems like someone is going to bed very late, hope you're at least watching a movie or something when you're replying. As for the part about depressing games... Good times. Ok, not really, but, I assume you play some Kirby games, or something?
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
@Midevil_Chaos Late reply yet again! Apologies.
I have been going to bed slightly too late recently. I am a night owl, but sometimes it gets out of hand. Especially if I'm going to bed almost at the same time I've got to get up. ๐ I've always had that problem, so it's not a new thing. ๐
I think doing a remake of the X-files with some inflatable aliens, costumes from H&M, and some overly fake looking wigs. And it would still be better some some of the rubbish Netflix and other film studios are making ๐. I still can't believe how Netflix take things and turn them into odd fan fictions. ๐คฃ I've seen so many 'adaptations' that have made unintentional comedies. It reminds me them memes that are like, for example: 'Luke Skywalker played by a Jeep' 'Han Solo played by Ice Cube' 'Princess Leia played by Mr. Mackay from South Park'. I don't know whether you've seen them memes but they always make me laugh, embarrassingly so, I have to admit. ๐
In fact there are many films that are deadly serious that have made me laugh. Either because of a low budget, or just a completely awful story that makes zero sense. ๐
And yes I'm not in any discord. ๐ But I never have been particularly 'cool'. It reminds me of you're earlier response to @simsplayer818 where you said you'd never "partied" in terms of like "clubbing", me neither. maybe I should now, just to see if I do like drinking a bunch of alcohol and jumping up and down a lot. ๐คฃ
As for games I'm sorry to say I've never played Kirby. I can play games with darker themes without being that affected by it. I don't know what is about RDR2 that got to me, I think it was just that it there was no satisfying ending that saddened me. I also felt like shaking all of the main characters which didn't help! Lol. But everyone whose played RDR feels that I think.
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
You got me scared there for a day lol. I'm sorry though, hope I'm not making you stay up late on my account. ๐ฅ
We could do that. I can act, believe or not. It's been a long while, though more Shakespearian stuff. I mean, it's been a very long time - but I'm sure I could make someone cry as my writing tends to do that at times, so that would help with the acting. When you said from H&M, I thought you were talking about M&M and was very confused as to why you'd want us to get costumes at a supermarket. I was like, "they sell costumes?" Until I understood you said H&M, then that made more sense considering what they sell in comparison.
Really? If anything, I've seen some weird parodies in some Simpsons shorts. Around 5 minutes long or so. I do, however, watch Netflix way more. I've been watching some Anime on there actually. I've never really watched Anime, but I've started watching a bit - but more of the older genre like InuYasha. Considering I don't really look like a nerd, you've be surprised about some of the stuff I do at times lol.
Girl, when you said Mr. Mackay, I knew exactly who you meant LOL. Still nice of you to add South Park in there just in case. As for the memes you're referring to, send them my way if you get the chance. Oh! I remember once when I was probably in my early 20s, I went on a 'sorta date' with a girl. We went to see The Hills Have Eyes. She was laughing throughout the movie. ๐ Sounds like you 2 are similar in that respect. To be fair, I have watched movies which certainly did not intend laughter to be part of the experience XD
Finally! Someone who understands me ๐ I've never been someone to party... you see that bench there? Yeah? That's where I'll be, thank you very much! ๐ I am grateful my friends growing up in elementary and high school weren't the partying type. The fact that you aren't either as an adult? That is what I needed to hear lol. For me, I've never really drank throughout my life, as I never understood the appeal of it. But, I'm also just not a social butterfly by nature. Unless it's with a single person face to face, that's different. My offer of the Discord still stands if you're ever interested.
Thank God... I was just saying Kirby to be nice, but I've never ever liked Kirby. He's like a nightmare within a fluffy world. When you see him, you run for your life because you don't know what he's gonna do.
You know, I'll always remember when someone said that the Goombas in the Mario games are just minding their own business, and then out of nowhere, some man stomps them to death. Like, that Goomba could have a family, you don't know. Mario is THE antagonist of the franchise if you think about it looool.
Tell me, have you ever played the original Playstation game called Silent Hill with the lights out? That game, even to this day, is THE game that will... that will... *breathing in and out* scare you shitless. And I used to watch horror movies when I was younger, and there was nothing scarier than that game.

Don't worry I've always stayed up late, I'm quite a night owl. I've always been the one to keep other people awake too long. I always say to them don't stay up late just because I'm a vampire. ๐คฃ
You sound quite the actor. I could never get into Shakespeare, as the old English language boggled my mind. ๐คฃ You making people cry with your writing proves it's good. I can cry easily at fiction too. Including Disney films even, I remember watching Coco and crying like a baby. I couldn't believe I was crying at a supposedly happy, sweet Disney film ๐ When I cry at fiction people always say "don't worry it isn't real". But I always say does it matter if something is real or not. I've always found it easy to put myself into the in the shoes of another person. It's just empathy whether the person is fictional or not. If fiction makes you laugh or cry, or both, it's a sign it's good. Sometimes that's not the case though, Sometimes you're crying because it's extremely bad (I have done that at a few films and games). ๐
There's nothing wrong with watching anime, it doesn't make you sound like a nerd at all. Some of the coolest people watch anime, I never knew what they were talking about though, they'd be like "You ever watched? ect ect", and I'd be like just staring blankly thinking the rock I must live under is a big one. It took me forever to know what people meant by "Naruto run". ๐ The same people would stare at me the same when I was like "You ever played the MySim series? OMG that series slaps, The MySims kingdoms soundtrack is an absolute banger" ๐คฃ I have a love for a few obscure Wii games they just give me heathy nostalgia. ๐
Glad to hear there's a girl out there who will laugh hysterically throughout a film about mutant killers in a public movie theater. Lol. Hope you had fun too, and not just her. ๐คฃ I've never watched Hills Have Eyes, although it's been on TV a few times, slashers don't interest me that much. The original was by Wes Craven though and his films always made me laugh, so I might have done the exact same thing as her. ๐
What you said about the Goomba's reminded me of RTGame talking about the Goombas being innocent pawns in bowsers weird obsession with kidnapping Peach, Lol. Poor Goombas ๐
Lmao silent hill is scary af to this day, I remember my brother playing it. He's more of a Mortal Kombat kinda guy, but loves many older games. I remember that, and resident evil 4's merchant with his 10/10 quotes like "Got some rare things on sale, stranger" ๐คฃ

I've always been a night owl too. People who go to bed at like 22:00... Why? Don't you have anything better than getting up at 6:00? Even in university, my courses would start at like 10:00 minimum lol. ----- If you're as pale as me, you're probably a vampire. ๐
Oh, I don't know about that. Speaking in a theatrical voice is pretty simple, at least for me. And the those teary eyes... an art. ๐คฃ However, I am shy though.
Indeed! ๐ Whenever I write, I have a process and people would probably think it's nuts. I either listen my music collection, or I listen specifically to a track from a game - one sad af. That gets me in the mood to write the saddest things. When it comes to writing above anything else, I have an innate ability for that. I always have.
I would be genuinely curious to know what movies you watch that you cry. I have to admit, I've never heard anyone tell anyone else, "it's not real, don't cry" unless they're 5 years old, in which case it's because their prefrontal cortex isn't developed fully. Why would an adult say that to another adult? When an adult cries, they obviously know it's not real, but the emotions evoked ARE real. Ok, but I have to say... I am confused about why you'd cry about a bad game (or movie). I need an actual explanation for that lol.
Oh, I don't know anything about anime. Well barely anything (I only know stuff about InuYasha lol). I know who Naruto is, and that's it. What Naruto Run is, I don't know. ๐ That being said, I couldn't tell you the story, backstory or anything else about Naruto except what he looks like... at least his face. What Wii games are you referring to?
LOL, I can't recall much of it. Still not sure if it was a date tbh. It's been what, 10 years at this point. Maybe more? I've never seen her since. ๐ I dunno, I think her fb got hacked or something *shrugs*. Don't worry, not by me lol. Speaking of horror-like movies, have you seen the remake of Pet Semetary? It's my all time fav movie. It's so good. Like OMG good.
"Glad to hear there's a girl out there who will laugh hysterically throughout a film about mutant killers in a public movie theater." Sounds like you're one of those individuals too, like her? ๐ No judgement. If anything, I liked her for what it's worth. Oh! I will always remember this though, I went to the movies with my brother once - it was the Predator vs Alien movie (or whatever it's called). The Predator was in front of the girl after their *victory*. The Predator I *think* had his helmet on, and right before he took it off, a viewer screamed, "kiss!" and the theater burst out laughing. Hey! When you look as good as the Predator in the movie? Can you blame the viewer for screaming, "kiss!".
Wes Craven, now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
As for the Goomba part, it could have been him saying that. I can't remember where I saw it tbh. Possibly him (though the name is not familiar) or maybe Mike Matei or AVGN. I honestly can't recall.
"Lmao silent hill is scary af to this day" Yeeeeees, it is so scary. Who cares about modern graphics if you can't have the mood, ambiance etc. from a game like Silent Hill. When that ghostly apparition of a baby appears and scares the crap out of you? Lord have mercy.

I have no idea where my friend got them damn memes from! When I couldn't find hardly any I was freaked out. ๐
Yes, I'm pale too, it's just part of having Irish ancestry. ๐คฃ
Being able to write is a real talent ๐. It takes a lot of presence of mind to know the reader needs everything explaining to them, as they aren't in the authors mind. The best writers have the most in depth descriptions, IMO. Affecting people with writing is difficult, as the reader has to be moved with words only. I on the other hand just don't have the patience to write well. Simply because, I have the issue of missing out small details and getting carried away. Being a good writer requires good patience IMO. Which I sometimes lack ๐
I think people in my life who have said that just don't want to me, or anyone else, to cry. It comes from a good place, really. I don't think they mean to be patronizing. ๐ As for why I've been upset at bad movies and games, I might have exaggerated at bit. ๐ But I have been unimpressed with many, maybe I'm just a diva for being angry with a film being awful, Or maybe just too sensitive. I had I similar reaction to The Last Of Us 2, I never played it as I knew they'd butchered the original story, which should've ended with the first game. I remember watching a certain streamer playing it, and crying at a very bloody scene. As she was genuinely crying, I cried too. It doesn't take me much to cry at genuine emotion. ๐ That game was so bad a lot of people cried/despaired throughout. The way the original story was ruined is very sad, I think the second game was just about vileness, really not cool.
The Wii games I'm referring to, well, I played quite a few. I'd say the MySims series are considered obscure to some people, Lol. I also played TS3 on the Wii which was different so say the least, not that I didn't enjoy it, it was just odd. ๐ And Naruto Run is just referring to the way in which Naruto runs, basically an anime style of running with the arms behind the back, Lol.
No, I haven't been to a movie theatre since I was around 7...Lol. I probably wouldn't make any noise in a movie theatre though. I just never fancy going to see a movie in a actual theatre. But I agree with you on Pet Semetary, I usually really enjoy anything by Stephen King. Accept from The Shining, that film just made me laugh, I do know though that Stephen King didn't actually like that adaptation from his book. I get it, the film was odd but pretty unintentionally funny. ๐

@Midevil_Chaos I forgot to add that when you mentioned watching the predator movie and the guy shouting kiss. reminded me of when boxers do that face off thing in an attempt to look like they want to fight, whenever I see it I always say "kiss already!" ๐

What can you do? Memes are difficult to come by when you're looking for the one you really want.
So... you burn in the sun after 10 minutes as well? *sigh* lol. ๐
It does take some, I guess? I mean... I have little patience for some things because I'm getting older *sigh*, and yet I manage to write books and then publish them. You know the meme of the little girl in pink, and she's like, "I dunno". That's me right now LOL. And also, same meme when you're in your 30s and 40s and think you're getting older. ๐คฃ If anything, when it comes to writing something, I literally have a document with X amount of lines, and each line has what each page, 5 pages or chapter will entail. Otherwise, forget it, it'll be pretty damn hard lol.
Maybe they aren't. Maybe I would be patronizing? I'd gently hold and tap your hand and be like, "there, there. It'll be ok. " ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ Meanwhile, I'd be confused as to why you're crying lol. To be fair, I don't cry in movies, maybe with the exception if it's something I experienced that was deeply traumatizing/painful, and was reminded of it in the movie. Or it can be an object, though I usually don't cry. The last time I cried was 4 years ago, almost to the day.
I have to admit... I've never played The Last of Us, nor the 2nd one. Please don't judge me. I dunno why. I've seen that game remade/remastered etc. like 3 times. ๐ So either it's really, really good... or they keep failing to make a good game. ๐ If it was as bad (the 2nd one), I would have been like, "what? this sucks" and stopped playing LOOOOOL. There are games if I really don't like them, I literally will stop playing.
Naruto runs with his arms behind his back? See, you know more about Naruto than I do. You're more of a nerd than a I am. ๐คฃ This is conclusive proof. Checkmate! ๐ค
Whaaaaaat? Last time you went to the theater was when you were 7? You must be like me then, when it comes to being surrounded by people. I get it, I definitely understand. Hence the pale nature of my skin that burns in 10 minutes if outside lol.
For The Shining, I recall seeing it and the axe scene and all... but not much else. I think for me, it was probably more akin to a deluded psychopath trying to be funny in a horror-like movie. Yeah, I'll go with that. Imagine that. - Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Yes, they should :D

I do burn in the sun very easy, sunscreen doesn't cut it sometimes. So in the midday I don't venture out, or at least that's my excuse anyway. ๐
I wouldn't be patronized by that. I don't get patronized by people that mean well, one bit. And personally I think 95% of the people that watched Coco cried when the grandma died ๐. Disney is sometimes hardcore sometimes lol, I cried at Bambi too ๐คฃ. I also cried at Iris Von Everec's story in TW3, Wow, that story was very touching. TW3 is an amazing game though, It's probably one of my favourite games of all time though, so I'm biased! ๐
Don't worry about not playing TLOU. I can't say I've played many of different games, I just have games that I replay that I are my favourites. I'd say TLOU 1 didn't need a remaster at all. It's a good game, I enjoyed the first quite a bit. But the second is just...yeah...๐ฌ It didn't need a second that's the problem, the story ended in the first. As for the remasters, I have no idea why it keeps being remastered, Money maybe? I think they changed too much with the remasters actually. The 2013 version is the original and best IMO, the atmosphere felt tense at times. And yes, some parts made me cry. ๐ I sound like I cry at everything now, but I don't, I swear. ๐คฃ
A nerd! ๐คฃ Okay I'll accept that. ๐
As for The Shining, It was supposed to be a horror, but was a comedy to me. ๐ This particular scene made me laugh a lot, and has stuck with me The Shining - (Clip) Man in Bear Suit - YouTube ๐คฃ

Oh, we both know that's not the real reason, but merely the "official" reason. Since no one can argue about skin actually "burning", it's a great excuse to use honestly. "Oh, you wanna go out today, to the park and then to this fancy restaurant. Jeez, I dunno about that... it's so sunny outside, you know I'll burn" Secretly inside, you're all like, *Phew! Disaster averted! I can't believe the nerve of some people, thinking I can go out like that, with skin so fair as mine*. ๐ Alright, the last part was a bit dramatic, but *shrugs*.
Oh, I am so sorry. I have never played any of the Witcher Games. I never liked 1st person games. I feel like if you're gonna have a game, you absolutely need to see the character, otherwise, you're actually playing as a weapon. If they remade the franchise in 3rd person AND allowed you to customize the character, I would totally try it out at that point.
I might be spoiled with some amazing game franchises like Mass Effect, Neverwinter Nights and Dragon Age, but I absolutely love when your character is your character based on who you want them to be. You obviously can't do that with characters like Link or Mario lol, but when it comes to other games, hell yeah. Which is why I didn't really enjoy Star Wars Fallen Order (that and the story was meh - and you couldn't get a red light sabre until you actually completed the game... ugh. Which red is the best light sabre colour).
Why is The Witcher 3 your fav game? Is it the gameplay, the story or something else?
I've never heard of Coco before *me/ after 5 minutes of googling it* Ah yes, that movie. I had no idea it was called Coco lol. I assume you are part of the 95% of people who cried during that movie? ๐ค
I feel ya, I will buy new games sometimes, either because it's a new entry in the franchise (like Mass Effect for example), or because it's a new game from a franchise that may not have something like that which was ever released and I'm psyched about. It's not to say I would necessarily enjoy the game (though I hope I do). I bought the last Zelda game for that reason, and I'll buy the next one (Tears of the Kingdom - I think it's called). Otherwise, I buy older games at times on gog if they are remastered. Have you ever heard of Pharaoh? That game was amazing and soooooooo addictive. I will be buying the new remastered game, and I am so grateful they remastered the game. I will buy it in the future once I get the chance :D
"I sound like I cry at everything now, but I don't, I swear." I mean... ๐คฃ I don't spend every waking moment of the day with you. I dunno if you do or not ๐คฃ. But, there is no reason for me to not believe you. So, I have to believe you... right? ๐
Ah ah! I knew it, you are a nerd! ๐ Takes one to know one. ๐ Wait a minute!
Was that clip for real? I don't remember a bear in the movie ๐๐๐
