Oh, we both know that's not the real reason, but merely the "official" reason. Since no one can argue about skin actually "burning", it's a great excuse to use honestly. "Oh, you wanna go out today, to the park and then to this fancy restaurant. Jeez, I dunno about that... it's so sunny outside, you know I'll burn" Secretly inside, you're all like, *Phew! Disaster averted! I can't believe the nerve of some people, thinking I can go out like that, with skin so fair as mine*. ๐ Alright, the last part was a bit dramatic, but *shrugs*.
Oh, I am so sorry. I have never played any of the Witcher Games. I never liked 1st person games. I feel like if you're gonna have a game, you absolutely need to see the character, otherwise, you're actually playing as a weapon. If they remade the franchise in 3rd person AND allowed you to customize the character, I would totally try it out at that point.
I might be spoiled with some amazing game franchises like Mass Effect, Neverwinter Nights and Dragon Age, but I absolutely love when your character is your character based on who you want them to be. You obviously can't do that with characters like Link or Mario lol, but when it comes to other games, hell yeah. Which is why I didn't really enjoy Star Wars Fallen Order (that and the story was meh - and you couldn't get a red light sabre until you actually completed the game... ugh. Which red is the best light sabre colour).
Why is The Witcher 3 your fav game? Is it the gameplay, the story or something else?
I've never heard of Coco before *me/ after 5 minutes of googling it* Ah yes, that movie. I had no idea it was called Coco lol. I assume you are part of the 95% of people who cried during that movie? ๐ค
I feel ya, I will buy new games sometimes, either because it's a new entry in the franchise (like Mass Effect for example), or because it's a new game from a franchise that may not have something like that which was ever released and I'm psyched about. It's not to say I would necessarily enjoy the game (though I hope I do). I bought the last Zelda game for that reason, and I'll buy the next one (Tears of the Kingdom - I think it's called). Otherwise, I buy older games at times on gog if they are remastered. Have you ever heard of Pharaoh? That game was amazing and soooooooo addictive. I will be buying the new remastered game, and I am so grateful they remastered the game. I will buy it in the future once I get the chance :D
"I sound like I cry at everything now, but I don't, I swear." I mean... ๐คฃ I don't spend every waking moment of the day with you. I dunno if you do or not ๐คฃ. But, there is no reason for me to not believe you. So, I have to believe you... right? ๐
Ah ah! I knew it, you are a nerd! ๐ Takes one to know one. ๐ Wait a minute!
Was that clip for real? I don't remember a bear in the movie ๐๐๐
Exactly! How dare those sun walkers bring us pasty people into the light, it's dangerous! ๐
I totally get why you prefer customisable games. It means you can really explore different characters, and make your own story, in a way. I really enjoyed TW2 and TW3 because of many things, the humour, landscapes, stories, soundtrack, characters, and overall atmosphere. Also the expansions of TW3 are some of the best expansions I've ever played. The stories are just really immersive and really well done for the most part. I really enjoy well done stories. and The Witcher games are based of the original Witcher books. So it gives the game even more depth with having around 6 books, I think? I don't bother with the series though, it's just not The Witcher it's just...๐คจ. As for the books, some bits I liked, some not so much, parts I personally would've wrote differently. I've never played Dark Souls or Dragon Age, they are the two games it get told to play the most, I still don't know why I haven't yet. ๐ In fact the friend I mentioned before, met her friend through World of Warcraft, and their mutual love of Stardew Valley, so chatted on discord about it. she's the one that suggested to me to play Dark Souls and Dragon Age, I still haven't played any of them yet sadly. I think I live under a rock sometimes. ๐คฃ
Yes, not ashamed I cried at Coco, Disney knew what they were doing there. ๐
I haven't played Pharaoh sadly, but I'll check it out. As for Zelda I felt like Breath Of The Wild was released more recently than it was, so I googled it and was released in 2017! I had no idea they were releasing the new game in a few days. Lol
And yes, that bear scene really was in The Shining! It was sooo random ๐คฃ It made me really laugh when they just popped up outta nowhere. The bear isn't in the movie until that point, when Shelley Duvall catches them getting freaky. Those fellas should've closed the door over at least! ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ

I don't know. I wish people would understand. I figure you and I are Drow (from Neverwinter Nights - they were akin night Elves preferring the undergrounds), and the fact that some people have the audacity to look down on us. *Shake fists at the Sun Walkers*
That's understandable. Typically, games can be fun based on one or several factors: A) Vast open world B) Great story C) Great character customization D) Replayability E) In depth game mechanics etc.
I will say this, Dragon Age Inquisition is probably the best game ever made, aside from the original Neverwinter Nights. The OG NWN has way more races and classes to play with. Back in the day I had 10GB of mods for that game. Mind you, that was in the early 2000s. I may not have the patience to play the OG NWN because it is truly story driven, but if you get the chance to play that game... please do so. Get the Diamond edition. If there was a game I ever fell in love with, it was Neverwinter Nights back in the early 2000s. I wish there would be a genuine remaster of Neverwinter Nights, without changing a thing in the game in terms of the mechanics. That game with updated and modern graphics would be stupendous!
I tell you what, if you play either the OG NWN or DAI from A-Z, I will play one of the Witcher games. I know I have the one called The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. What do you say, wanna do that? You wouldn't say no to another pasty underground dweller, would you? ๐ค๐ค๐ค And yes, I'm already kicking myself for suggesting this cuz I'm slightly scared of playing a Witcher game, but it could be fun? ๐
I have never played Dark Souls, so I can't comment on that franchise. Though I heard good thing about it as well. Although, I would say DMC (Devil May Cry) was good. I had only briefly played one of those games, and it was fun for what it's worth. So, you could also try that franchise out as well. That is, if you don't wanna play Dark Souls.
Yeah, it feels like the last Zelda game wasn't that old, but yeah it's 6 years old lol. That being said, I hope the next game does NOT have that dumb sword breaking mechanic which made the game frustratingly annoying at times.
Someone must have been drunk or something... why was there a bear in there? ๐

I normally create near-identical copies of my friends and family to start but always end up creating some sort of dopplegรคnger version to balance things

For sure! Being an elf has many benefits, being superior in life span, extremely good looking. And of course underground dwelling, in the case of the Drow elves anyway! ๐
You know what makes a great game, for sure! I've been meaning to play DAI for a long time as I know many people really love it. Seriously though, you don't have to play The Witcher just because I enjoy it. ๐ If 1st person RPG's don't float your boat you don't have to play it, seen as those types of games aren't your usual choice.๐ But if you do play it, my first recommendation is to make sure you play it with both Blood And Wine and Hearts Of Stone expansions. They change a 8/10 game into a 10/10, IMO of course. ๐ And my second is, when I first played I was shocked at some of the random nakedness'. ๐คฃ So the game is 100% a 18 mature rating, that's for damn sure! Lol. So you'll have to get used to the random butt shots that happen, if you do happen to play it. ๐ So maybe don't play it around anyone that is sensitive to things that can be in a 18 rated game, Lol. I first played it with no knowledge of anything about it, so I went bright red when the beginning of the game opens with a booty. ๐คฃ The game is still great though, I really enjoy a good RPG, and it delivered for sure. Without any spoilers, the ending you get is based on your decisions as the player. So it's really fun to me, even though I do the same things every time I play. ๐
I agree about Zelda, I get a bit annoyed when weapon wear is included in games. I'm not usually into combat in games though, so anything combat related doesn't excite me much anyway. I think other things in games are more important, but that's just me. ๐
I have no idea why they were getting it on with one of them in a bear suit. ๐คฃ Maybe Stanley Kubrick thought that was creepy as it can get. ๐ Stephen King must've been freaked out when he saw that film thinking to himself..."I didn't write any of this!" ๐๐
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
lol, nice ๐ That's what it's about. :D
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I didn't want to say anything, but you are 100% right on both counts ๐ I was alive last century and still alive THIS century. And probably next one too, right? I'm not sure how good looking I'll be in comparison to now, but I guarantee you someone will be like, "awwww, isn't he cute?". ๐ I will assume the same about you! As for the underground dwelling, we may have no choice but to bunker down once the leaders of the world decide on some crazy schemes. Ah, that's why you play games like The Last of Us. Smart.
Bah! A deal is a deal, friend ๐ Connecting to EA App now... Tense moment until I realize it's not on that platform. Opening GOG... Tense moment now. Come on now GOG, load. Installing now. Even more tenser moment *looks at watch and looks at time left for download* ok, this... will take probably 30-60 minutes to install. ๐คฃ
I seem to have the original game, enhanced, but ima try the 3rd one since you'd be playing the 3rd installment of Dragon Age. If ever you need some background info on the series, let me know. I'd be more than happy to talk to you about the franchise.
I know that some games have 18+ "content", yet it's interesting that it's not considered AO (adult only) as opposed to M (Mature). The crazy part, is that it's not most of the game that's like that, but some minimal parts of the game. And that is lots of games ๐
And naw don't worry, any people possibly not suited for those games live at my sister's.
Oh! I can't remember if I asked, did you play the Mass Effect franchise? It's undoubtedly the best franchise imo.
If you don't like combat per se in terms of "active combat", the original Neverwinter Nights has this unique system. There I said it! Unique. Basically, you can pause the game using the space bar in the middle of combat, and then queue whatever action(s) you want. Such a great thing to have. You may have other systems if you decide to switch to them, but don't quote me on that, as it's been a very long time.
I can't remember in which expansion of NWN it was in (it might have been in the base game), but there is this epic sword. I can't say too much since I don't want to spoil anything should you choose to play the game. The original NWN has 2 expansions - Shadows of Undrentide AND Hordes of the Underdark. They are included, I am sure, with the Diamond edition. But that sword I mentioned, is the BEST and COOLEST sword in any possible game to date, I promise ๐ And you'll know which sword I mean the moment you obtain it.
*Katie be like/ Ima befriend that huge ogre there* 5 days later in the world of Hyrule, a priest is like, "we are gathered here dear friends to mourn our friend". ๐ Sorry, I couldn't help myself *smiles*, as you left the door wide open for a joke here.
You know... he probably wrote it. He was most likely on set and was like, "You there, mascot. I want you in this shot with this man. Surprise me!" Needless to say he was surprised.
- Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Really hope you enjoy it! ๐โ
I will jump into DAI without knowing anything, as per usual. Lol. I do that with every game. I know it's sometimes difficult to get into a game you don't know anything about, but I always find it fun to learn as I play. I enjoyed that about TW3, I knew nothing accept the characters bio's at the start. Of course then I learnt more about the backstories while playing through the game, and then eventually reading more about the lore outside the game to further my understanding of some of the references. Not that you need to, as CDPR do a great job with explaining the back stories IMO anyway. ๐
Yes! Lol. Even in TW3 playing the part of a monster slayer I didn't hurt any of the trolls in the game, they're just too sweet! ๐ So Indeed, Hyrule would be at permanent risk of monsters taking over with my dislike for combat in game. ๐คฃ
Surprised! That is the word to describe what I thought of it too! ๐ In fact that entire film could be called surprising. ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Also, 100% who wouldn't want to be an elven mage! I know I do anyway! ๐คฃ
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I hope so too ๐ We shall see how good of a game it is. Ima probably start the game later tonight though.
I have to admit that in most games, I absolutely hate playing any type of wizard/mage class. I've never been good when it came to playing with those. I once failed miserably playing as a Cleric once in NWN. I tried, I really tried... try killing an enemy with a wooden staff not meant for hitting. That being said, I absolutely love playing as a mage/wizard (or whatever they call it) in DAI. There is something about playing with a controller that is awesome with the game's mechanic. I am 100% sure you will enjoy it.
That being said, for some reason, whenever you boot up the game, it won't recognize the controller unless you turn the controller on first before booting the game up, not sure why. But, just thought I'd let you know. I've played the game with both a 360 controller an Xbox One controller fine thus far.
In terms of the character's bio etc., you learn everything about it ingame. The character isn't based on any characters from the previous games (they never are). That being said, you will learn a lot of him/her/them throughout the game. There are some recurring enemies you may have encountered in previous games. That's all I will say.
I... uhm... didn't realize you would actually let Ganondorf take over Hyrule. ๐ฑ
There are movies out there that you could totally watch and wonder what's going on in terms of the plot. Others, like Police Academy where you wonder why we haven't heard from that franchise again, considering it has 7 movies (and an animated series and 1 or 2 season(s) tv show).
I am happily surprised we were able to exchange as much as we did so far. I'm usually not really a people person.
- Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
I think you'll enjoy it especially now I've started DAI. ๐
So far I've spent longer than I'd like to admit in character creation. Lol. I think I've played for around 5 hours, and 3 of them were in character customisation. ๐ I actually told my friend (the one I mentioned before) that I've finally started playing DAI. And she left a message on my Animal Crossing town bulletin board saying "You better romance Iron Bull or we won't talk anymore" ๐คฃ and the second said "you won't get one of the best moments in the game 4real if ya don't do that". ๐คฃ Idk whether you've ever played Animal Crossing, but everyone who comes to your town sees your messages on your bulletin board. So I think if anyone else saw that they will be very confused, including me! ๐ I haven't even met his character yet. I've literally just met Cassandra and only played the first quest. Lol. So thank you for not giving any spoilers, unlike her, who was way too tempted. ๐๐
And nooo I wouldn't let Ganondorf do that. ๐ I just get on with the combat, even though it isn't my favourite in any game! lmao. ๐
And don't worry, to say you're not a people person you do well! ๐ I haven't ever posted on here, before about a week ago, despite having a EA account for 8 years! ๐ I actually came to report the face bug and then probably not log again, but I somehow ended up on this thread. ๐ So thought I'd post a little message on here, as something made me want to. I don't have discord or reddit, or anything similar. So must admit, usually I just read other peoples comments, rather than post my own. What a lurker I am! ๐คฃ

@Mrs_K_Desormeaux
Good! I played around 3 hours so far of TW3 Wild Hunt. Do the choices make an actual difference in the game? As far a I remember, for DAI, it does.I am with you on that. Character creation is my favourite part of games, aside from making decisions. Which is probably why I love DAI, there is something so... amazing about that game. That being said, what race and class did you pick? As for Iron Bull... prepare to potentially not be friends with that other friend. ๐ Don't get me wrong, Iron Bull is pretty cool. But... there is a specific woman in the game I prefer myself. That being said, I won't say more. As for Cassandra, she's... something. I won't say good or bad, but she's quite something.
So far with TW3, it's very different mechanic wise. I've had trouble adjusting myself when it comes to physically moving my character lol. That being said, gog revamped the game and added content to it. Now it's 3rd person, with a mod for 1st person. I remember when I tried years ago, it was 1st person, and I was like, "nope!" I'm still getting used to moving... and I left my horse behind. It was easier going to my destination in a beeline than having him go off road (with the auto ride or whatever they call it), since it would take the left road when the destination was on the right. So I was like... aight, ima run there instead ๐คฃ No wonder, with a horse named Roach. ๐ He must be wanting to avoid humans.
No, I have never played Animal Crossing. I had an Xbox One until the Switch was out for like 4 years. Then, I bought the Nintendo Wii U. ๐๐๐ I was a generation behind, and only got it to play Zelda tbh. Then... I heard Front Mission (1, 2 and 3) were being remade for the Switch, so I bought a Switch later down the road. ๐คฃ
Girl, we both know we'd take one look at Ganondorf, while pointing at a cave, and be like, "ima hide in there. I wanna survive, I don't wanna give myself up as bait or food for that thing. Although, getting food first would be wise. And water."
To be honest, I usually don't post on here either. I had my reasons as well (nothing nefarious, I promise lol), and then someone named Katie started posting lol. We got along, and I was like, "ima continue posting, because she's cool". To be frank, I don't have friends that really game (aside from my Discord group), so I thought it was awesome having someone who knows games and that I can talk to. In all honesty, my Discord family sometimes talk about cars and other mechanical stuff and I'm like, "..." and then I'm like "... ...". Thus, I am grateful I can talk to someone who I assume (but I could be wrong), doesn't ever want to talk about that type of stuff lol.
The way I see it, is that you have "people" and then you have "people ๐" (or is that "๐ people"?). People tend to stress me out, but people I actually get along with, I'm cool with them.
- Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Indeed it does! The choices you make have a massive impact on the story and dialogue you get. BTW I've never seen TW3 from a 1st person perceptive. The games from TW1, TW2, and TW3 were always in 3rd person. So I have no idea how you ended up thinking it was a 1st person game? I wouldn't have played it if it was a 1st person game as they always remind me of shooters, and as you probably would've guessed, they're not my forte either. ๐
Also without giving any spoilers, Roach is a mare. Geralt always has female horses, specifically mares, and always names them Roach. ๐ Also remember, if you do make a certain decision you're not to keen on the way it plays out, you can always re-load. ๐ I actually choose the the same choices I choose the first time I played, as I'm very happy with them. I will say there is a series of questions early in the game that refer back to TW2. So that might confuse you a little, so if you run into a problem with them, just ask and I'll explain them. ๐ Btw you'll find TW3 is incredibly detailed, I personally, probably have around a 1000 hours in it and still find new things out when I replay. I almost forgot to say Cassandra voice actress sounds so much like a characters in TW3 Blood and Wine expansion. My favourite expansion of TW3, personally. ๐
Also, I too have a favourite lady in TW3, of whom that is I won't share. No spoilers here! ๐
Yes! totally, I'd be like "just chill dorfy, is it that important you own all of Hyrule? We can cut a deal, so you can have your own little area, then no fights needed" ๐คฃ
"Nothing nefarious" ๐๐ I wouldn't have thought not posting on here was? LOL. That would mean I was the most nefarious person going. ๐คฃ As I literally haven't posted on here ever in my 8 years of having an account. ๐ And yes! I literally don't know anything about cars. All I know is they have wheels and a engine that should start when you turn the key. ๐คฃ Like I said before, anything that looks mechanical and complicated I won't touch. Major respect for people who do know what they're doing, unlike me. ๐
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Well then, I am curious to know what choices I can make. I dunno. I had tried several of them, and when I played them, they were always in 1st person for me. I dunno if they were forced mods by gog? I dunno *shrugs*. ๐ต But I now get to try it in the 3rd person view. I don't play 1st person games, but for other reasons - I never liked the idea of playing as "arms" + a weapon. That just makes no sense to me and never did.
I just meant with a name like Roach... I feel bad for the horse. Thank God she doesn't understand human speech. Imagine if that was someone's nickname, I'd be horrified by that.
As for making choices, what if the choice you didn't choose end up being more interesting though? Would you watch a playthrough to see the other choices? Or you would stick with your initial choice? Colour me intrigued!
When I play the ME franchise, I often play a certain way so I end up seeing different choices, because I couldn't know what choice was better without knowing. To be fair, I sorta-ish play the same as you to a certain degree because if I can get rid of a specific character in the game for example, I'd always pick that choice (if I hate that character). That being said, it's hard at that point to feel fully content. So I understand why you play the way you play.
1000 hours you say? I can dig that. Especially if the game is amazing. Who knows, maybe you'll end up playing DAI just as much or even more. ๐ I think that could be the case *me/ crossing my fingers*
It could be the same actress, btw. You can google it (as I have no idea which person you're referring to in TW3). I've seen some voice actors in different franchises lol. It's so weird though when that happens.
If you'd call him "dorfy". I think he would would very confused for a moment, and be like, "what did she just call me? What even is a dorfy?" Oh... I see. Smart move. You would do that to run away, expecting Link or someone else to make "peace" with Ganon. I gotchu.
Your nefarious post at the end. That was good LOL. If anything, what I had said sorta sounded suspicious LOL, so hence why I added the words "nothing nefarious", which yeah, is to clear the air. That's just how I am lol. I assume a lot of people would find that odd to say the least XD *shrugs*
I knew it! You ARE a Drow. Maybe not in DAI, but at least in real life. ๐
I am so glad you don't like cars. That is the best news I've had today! ๐
- Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
I have never played The Witcher 3 through gog, so I'd imagine it's on their side as to why the game was odd. I've played it on console, and also watched other playthroughs after I'd finished my own, and all are in 3rd person like RDR and many other RPG's. ๐ The game was developed to be 3rd person. So I have zero ideas why the game was in 1st person for you. ๐ค
The name Roach means something to Geralt. but even in the books he doesn't share exactly what the name means to him, even when people ask. I was like "Roach is her name, really?" at first too. There's never an explanation sadly as to why he chose a name like Roach, for a sweet pony like...โฆRoach. ๐คฃ
I have watched many playthroughs of alternate choices, and how it changes the ending. I watched xLetalis and Jinzee/ProperBird on YouTube for that. I have my own "canon" choices that I always choose, so therefore I call them my canon. ๐ I didn't play with other choices. As I just couldn't bring myself to choose anything that might lead to a bad ending. I love my canon ending to much for that. ๐ But couldn't help checking out all the alternatives, and it made me more happy with my choices. ๐
Yes, 1000 hours! It was exceptionally easy too, I love that CDPR gives you your money's worth when it comes to content for sure! I am enjoying DAI a lot so far, so maybe 1000 hours will be possible to meet some day! ๐
She's not the same VA, I googled it as soon as I heard her voice, Lol.
There's a lot that can go wrong with cars too, so they've always scared me rather than excited me. ๐
- Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
I also forgot to say I choose Elven Mage as my selection for DAI! I'm also playing as a female for my first playthrough. ๐โ
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Wait. I was sure I had seen your comment as the Elf and responded. I found my comment. Wait, why is my comment about you being a Drow before you said you were an Elven Mage. ๐คฏ This is weird? But ok lol.
Ohhhhhh, that may explain it. No one wants to play 1st person on a console lol. 1st person is the bane of my gaming existence. At least you have my back when I say that. As for types of games I'm utterly horrible at would include any platformer and any online FPS, because I never cheat like countless people.Ok! I couldn't help myself. But since we're talking about a horse here and a man who is apparently despised by random people, I think the following is funny... so please forgive me - pretty please *puppy eyes*. ๐ Geralt is just a *, right? That's why he doesn't tell anyone about why he calls her that:
Geralt: "You are one ugly horse, so ugly. Your name will be Roach from now on." That's what happened. I can't imagine naming a horse Roach and think it's ok to call him the same thing as a cockroach. When I heard the horse's name, I was like, "wtf is wrong with you, dude?" He is NOT ok as a character. *shake fist atRoachGeralt* yes, I am that tired ๐ hence why I am just striking out what I had written in first, since it makes it funnier.Oh, I see. You look at other people playing and then knowing you made the right decisions. Aight, aight (I work with young people - their influence). As for what you consider a bad ending, what is a bad ending? I mean, how do you honestly define an ending as bad?
Have you ever played Front Mission 3 on PS1? If not, please play both paths (they are very different from each other - like 2 different stories, for real), and tell me which path is good. I absolutely love that game, and I've always wanted to know which ending was "good". I need a definitive answer.
I am glad you're enjoying DAI thus far. It's a fairly lengthy game, and is pretty damn amazing imo. Choose your options carefully. This is one game where you may think the choice you make is the right now, but may or may not be.
A lot, yes. Like falling over while trying to get in using the step (if there is one) because you're almost 6 feel tall. Thank God we don't have that car. Although, I actually don't drive. ๐คฃ
- Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
I had trouble with that post. so I think I accidently posted it twice, sorry about that. ๐
I've also played TW3 on PC, and it was in 3rd person. So I think 100% it was a forced mod, as the game comes in 3rd person, how annoying to have a 1st person perspective when the game was made in to be in 3rd person. Seriously though, who wants a forced 1st person mod? That's just cruel! ๐คฃ
Geralt is a darling really, some people are just rude to him for absolutely no reason. ๐
What I consider a bad ending is a ending that I don't like, it might not be in other peoples opinions though. Also endings that don't match the characters personalities, I want lore accurate stuff here! ๐ (I just can't bring myself to choose a option that I don't like personally. it's just a habit of mine).
I've never played Front Mission 3 on PS1. But funnily enough I was reading a couple of weeks ago that it'll be remade for the switch. Maybe I'll play it on the switch when I get the chance. ๐
I love lengthy games! I know some people complain about games being "too long" but I seriously love long games. It's amazing to be impressed that you've actually gotten your money's worth! TW3 is also a long game filled with amazing content. Also in TW3 there's character panel where you can read a bit about the background of some of the characters, it doesn't tell you everything. But it does tell you the basics you need to learn more about them! ๐
I don't have the being tall problem with cars as I'm only 5'4. ๐ But I have injured myself climbing in and out of cars anyway. (I am clumsy though, so maybe that's why.๐)
Oh, and make sure you don't get so tired you go on angry rants. ๐ I do the same thing but go on what I call one of my confusing rants, that confuse me, and anybody else! ๐คฃ
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Ooooooh, that makes a lot of sense ๐ I thought I was just really tired and you know. You got me good there!
I think we can both agree that people forcing 1st person view are... I hate use the word, but evil. You try living a good life, but then someone comes around, and then baaaaam! Imposition of 1st person view. How dare they soil what could have been perfectly good games? ๐ซ lol.
Geralt, a darling? I dunno man, I haven't played enough to know if he is. But, I will for now take your word for it. There is someone or 2 that are what you would consider darlings in DAI. I know they'll feel real, and your emotions just as much so, but remember they are fictitious. ๐ But I do get it. You play with them for so long and then the story ends. If I may, there is a certain bearded man... go for him all the way. That's all I'll say. You'll thank me. ๐
Nobody likes a bad ending lol. Unless you're the villain OR running a "renegade" playthrough. I do love SWOTOR (not the MMO, but the actual 2 games)... and you get to play as a Sith if that suits your fancy. ๐
This just popped into my head, have you played Super Mario RPG? That's the ONLY Mario game I ever replay, because it is such an SNES gem. Do you have a Switch? If so, see if you can get that game through the Switch's SNES emulator.
Yeah, and I also mentioned that in one of my posts here about FM 3. ๐คฃ If you get the chance, play the remake. All the games are unrelated to each other, so you won't be missing a beat ๐ The 3rd is imho, the magnus opus of games. Dead serious. I hope the remake will reflect that. If you do end up playing it, we can play it together at the same time and talk about it ๐
Lengthy games can be fun, but the game HAS to be fun in and of itself, obviously. I remember my first playthroughs of FM 3, since there are 2 paths, I played the game again. Each path is minimum 75 hours each, if played normally. Or much more, depending on how you play it. Or possibly less. Again, depends how it's played.
As for TW3, I'd have to read some once I get used to the game lol.
5"4? That is the perfect height. You're not too tall, but not too short where it's an inconvenience. I could be be wrong, you're the one who is 5"4 lol. While I'm a few inches short of 6 feet. Though I do have to ask (as I am apparently the more nosey one here): How did you injure yourself getting into a car?
lol, naw. What could become an "angry" rant if it I'm annoyed at someone because of something. If I'm simply very tired, I may take much longer to formulate my thoughts lol.

Don't worry, he is indeed a darling! ๐ Yennefer is too, I love her character development the most in the books. ๐ So far in DAI Josephine has come across as a bit of a darling to me. My friend left another message on my animal crossing bulletin board simply saying "male Dwarf & Iron Bull is something you need to see, It's the funniest romance option in gaming history" LOL (I'm starting to think she's a Iron Bull stan) ๐คฃ I really might need therapy if I ever do a playthrough like that. ๐คฃ My playthrough is deadly serious! ๐ Vanilla it will be, as BioWare intended! ๐๐
I'm sorry to say I've never played Mario RPG. A lot of the classic Mario games, I have to admit, I haven't played sadly, other than of course, the OG Mario Cart. ๐
Thank you for believing 5'4 isn't short. ๐ I've known many people I've considered tall, call me short and I was like "it's only because your tall" ๐ I do seem to make friends that are extremely tall though, I had a friend back in school who was 5'11 at 12! And of course it made me look and feel shorter than ever. ๐คฃ
And I've injured myself in the past just by hitting myself on doors, corners, and simply anything that hurts to bump into. I have that problem, sometimes I'm clumsy enough to literally just walk into things. ๐
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I think I will prefer her over him lol. Too bad you can only play as him thought ๐
Speaking of books, have you ever heard of Steven Erikson? Let me say this: George R.R. Martin has nothing over him. You should definitely try his books, once you realize what he's doing in terms of the universe... you'll go bonkers! I promise ya ๐
Yes! Josephine, she was the one I was referring to who was my darling in the game. She was the first one I romanced in the game, actually. Seems like we would romance the same characters in DAI lol.
As for Iron Bull, I do have a saved game that I haven't played in a bit (gaming fatigue tbh at that point - as it was my 2nd playthrough in a row lol... it's a very long game). Anyhow, I created a mage (if I recall correctly), and the same specie as Iron Bull. But yeah, go with the bearded man, I promise you will fall in love with him as long as you stick with him till the end. He's not my favourite, but there is something to say about his entire backstory. You won't regret it. It'll stir some emotions within you.
OMG. Ok, after DAI, you and I are playing Mario RPG. It is simultaneously the cutest and most badass RPG I have played. I too haven't played much of anything Mario related, aside from the originals and yes, including Mario Kart. I have Mario Kart 8 as well, but my fav will always be the original.
Oh, don't worry. My aunt is 5"0, and that is starting to be short lol. But 5"4? That's a good height :D I can look into someone's eyes who is 5"6 and feel they're my height, despite me being closer to 6 feet than 5"6 lol.
Awwwww, sorry to hear that lol. I take it you stared your friend down, and left. Like Kagome does with InuYasha. ๐คฃ Oh! Please ๐ฅบ have someone record you bumping into things, like a telephone pole or whatever. ๐ But please, don't injure yourself by accident though lol.

Honestly you will love both of them! ๐ TW3 is an incredible game. I promise you, once you get into it you'll love it (or at least I think you will!). It's my favourite game so...pressures on me! ๐ Also if you're ever confused about a characters backstory you can also look on TW3's fandom page, where you can read about some of the book lore. ๐
I have heard of Steven Erickson, but I've actually never read any of his books. I haven't actually read any George R.R. Martins books either, I also haven't watched Game Of Thrones. Despite being told many times I should watch it. ๐ When I tell some people I haven't watched it they're like "......." I just say "K, I live under a rock, alright! Don't judge". ๐คฃ I must admit Sapkowski's books get quite a lot of praise but I was quite confused at times, but maybe it's because I wasn't reading it right IDK. I also didn't like parts of the last book, the ending wasn't my favourite. I'm glad The Witcher games are post books rather than the actual stories of the books, as they finish the story perfectly.
And so far in DAI I'm having a difficult time figuring out my who favorite darling is! ๐ They seriously are all likeable in different ways. I really like the humour from characters like Varric and Sera. It really makes the game extra fun, I never realised how important humour in games is to me! I knew it made a game more likeable, but now I think it's as important as the story. ๐ Also, I've met Blackwall now, but sadly, I'd already gone for mah boi Cullen because he has a FUURR collar! ๐คฃ Plus my inquisitor didn't meet Blackwall for ages, because I went to Val Royeaux before I looked through all the Hinterlands (me being impatient ๐). I actually don't know why I didn't play DAI sooner, seen as I'd been told to play it many times. In fact, I remember seeing xLetalis do videos on the choices in the game. And thinking it looked good but never playing it for myself.
I couldn't possibly get anyone to make a record of my clumsiness, or they'd be adding to it constantly. ๐คฃ
Oh, I almost forgot to add, me being nosey here! What quest are you on in The Witcher so far? Did you do them Witcher 2 questions without hesitating, if so, that's hardcore! It doesn't make much of a difference to the game, but I remember being like "what is he talking about! I've never played TW2" I just chose the options that sounded right IMO without googling it, I just hoped I hadn't choose anything weird that would ruin my playthrough. ๐ ๐
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Yes indeed, the pressure is on you LOL. I guess we are playing each other's fav PC game? That should make for an interesting conversation lol.
OMG, please read the first one called: Gardens of the Moon. Title is weird as hell, but man... such a good book.
*ecstatically huge smile* I refuse to watch Game of Thrones, I absolutely refuse to. I didn't know someone else felt the same way! ๐คฃ We might live under a rock, but a very premium rock, I might add, girl.
Yes, they are. Varric... if you really want to get to know him, you'll need to play the 2nd game. That being said, I think you would enjoy the main character from the 2nd game. Maybe not the game as much (if at all), but I think you'd enjoy playing as a male protagonist in the 2nd one.
OMG, Serra??? Oh God have mercy LOOOOOL. Most people hate her XD But hey, if you like her? Kudos to you! Wait till you meet the other one. As long as you don't try dating her, I think you'll be fine ๐ Which you could, if you're playing as a female.
Break it off with Cullen ๐ He's definitely not Blackwell. ๐ Don't get me wrong, Cullen is great-ish. But on a serious note, keep at it with Cullen, I am sure you'll enjoy his backstory and all.
I am glad you didn't go with Iron Bull though. Not as much... interesting plot with him imo. I hope you'll tape yourself telling your friend you did not pick Iron Bull. You know the gif with Michael Jackson eating popcorn? Yeah? That would be me, thank you very much! I am legit interested to know what she'll say to you.
Hold on... you picked Cullen because he has fur? ๐ค Are you saying you... like... Chewbacca from Star Wars? Oh! Don't worry. I'm not judging at all, I'm just interested in knowing. This (what I said) somehow seems so wrong. ๐๐๐ *shrugs* Totally not meant to be. *me/ facepalm and walk of shame*
Oh yeah, DAI... OMG such an amazing game. I hope you'll make amazing choices. BUT! That being said, I think you'll find it hard to make the "right" choices at times. What IS morality? You'll soon find out it can be harder than you expect. Much harder. I relish that fact. Ok, probably not the right word, but I just ate, so, yeah. But I don't relish relish. I prefer ketchup, mayo and even mustard.
If you say you feel you're that clumsy, I can't really not believe you, you know lol.
I have been helping my mom a lot this week and had some personal things to take care of, so I really haven't had the chance to game whatsoever. I will most likely start play again in a few days (though I am hoping tomorrow - technically today). But, I will keep you updated. Once I get further.
- Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
That's okay! Helping your Mom is much more important, I also have trouble finding time to play games, it's like when you've finally got some time, it's time to go to sleep. ๐
I will look into Gardens Of The Moon, I've read a few books lately that have been a bit poor so it'd make a difference to read a good book. ๐
I'm enjoying DAI! Great recommendation. I can't believe I hadn't played it after 8 years of it being out. Maybe they'll announce the next Dragon Age after I've finally played the other games too. ๐ I just hope you enjoy my favourite game too! ๐
I might go ahead and tell her through her animal crossing bulletin board that I'm doing a Iron Bull free playthrough. She'll freak out! ๐คฃ I think she had an idea I'd go for someone else! ๐ She just wanted me to see Iron Bull with a dwarf!! LOL.
I'm glad you can relate to not watching Game Of Thrones! Living under a premium rock is something I can definitely vibe with. ๐คฃ
YES! Sera doesn't p*ss me off as much as other people, she's just strange which I find funny during serious quests. I didn't know she swung that way, I've been educated! ๐ I knew Dorian did, as my friend also wanted me to go ahead and romance him and Iron Bull at the same time playing as a male dwarf. ๐ณ๐
I'm interested to hear Blackwall's story. His beard is hiding a lot then I gather! ๐
I like Cullen's style. ๐ I did actually choose Cullen for more than his nice jacket really. Especially the fact that his tarot card doesn't make him look good, so had to feel for him there ๐คฃ
You dug a hole with the Chewbacca thing didn't you?! ๐ Chewbacca is based on a newfoundland after all, so how could he not be a cute little doggo. but anyone liking him in any other way is NOT accepted! ๐คฃ
Morality is a big theme in The Witcher actually, some choices did make me think there was no actual right one. So if Dragon Age is the same I'm going to be as flustered as I was choosing some decisions as I was in TW3. ๐ I get what you mean about some sauces. Some are just awful. I tried satay sauce once, and never forgot how much it shocked me with how much I disliked it. I love Mayo with a passion though! Absolute top tier sauce. My love for mayo has shown...now I must leave *dramatically leaves with mayonnaise, much to the anger of ketchup* ๐
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Yeah, agreed!
And totally, though in my case, it's more like... Oh, I have to go work now. Where did the time go? Right, eating and trying to wake up. ๐
What I adore about DAI, is that even by today's standards, it's a pretty damn good game graphics wise and especially game play mechanic wise. I am absolutely shocked when I play other games like Jedi Fallen Order, and the controls aren't as good. Like what the hell?
Hopefully I will, too early to tell lol. But, I do love the fact that gog incorporated mods though. Thus, I have no idea what's the real experience of the game is supposed to be like.
To quote whoever coined this term, "you go girl!" And pleeeeease tell me her reaction. If she disavows you, I wanna know. Ok, and what is this thing about dwarves and other species together??? Ooooooooooh! I remember my second run of Dragon Age Origins. I had a Dwarf female, and she was dating this [I guess] good looking guy (I think? You can tell me if you ever play the original - I honestly can't tell lol). Anyhow, at some point, one of the responses was akin to her saying something like how she can't believe he's into her. And then he says something like, "Oh, you know how good looking you are! You were just fishing for a compliment". To be fair, my female Dwarf was cute lol. But like... Dwarves in general... not my type of specie if they actually existed. Now I will stop talking before I embarrass myself. ๐
Oh yeah, Blackwall is... quite the character if you decide to have a vested interest in him, be it romantic or otherwise. That being said, you will learn a lot about Cullen though with him. His story does get interesting in the long run.
As for Dorian, such a good friend. Good one. Didn't realize you met him.
As for Chewbacca... ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ Nothing like a good bromance? ๐ Realtalk though, I have zero interest in their specie. The only cross-specie I would be ok with as a human would be with Elves and Elven sub-races. I've said enough about this topic. ๐
Hopefully you are content with your choices. ๐
*dramatically leaves and takes the mayo from your hands and grab a bottle of ketchup, as I swing both ways. Who doesn't?* ๐๐๐ And if I'm feeling even more adventurous and want to live dangerously, I may add some relish. ๐
Again... *me/ walk of shame* as you would probably appreciate these types of jokes a la Austin Powers, had you seen the movies.
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
In case you couldn't tell, you made me laugh pretty hard today ๐๐๐
(in case you missed it, other post is on page 12 - at least for me) - Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Glad I made you laugh with my odd late night ramblings! ๐
So I got a reply from my friend! ๐ She said "I HAVE NO WORDS! VANILLA CULLEN! 4 REAL!? WAT WERE U THIKIN' GURL. OMGG THE DWAARFS HAVE BEEN CHEATED OUT OF RIDIN' THE BULL!! I WILL NOW ANNOY UR VILLAGERS IN AN ATTEMPT TO SERVE JUSTICE 4 DWAARFF KINDD! ๐คฃ She even linked a video on YouTube of a dwarf playthrough with Iron Bull, LOL. Gotta say, it was hilarious, she was right about me finding it ridiculously funny. ๐ She has a habit of wanting me to playthrough games with silly choices that are usually very funny, but I'm trying to playthrough all serious and such! Lol. Don't know how I'll break it to her that I'll probably never play as a dwarf! ๐
You're right! I haven't met Dorian yet, I was just told about him by my friend, in great detail as per usual. ๐ She's the type of person that can't let you go into a game without knowing anything, I don't think she can resist if she likes the game! ๐ BTW isn't Vivienne such a amazing badass character! I weirdly really like her. ๐
*Doesn't have any valid comeback for such thieving* ๐ I have to admit I have watched some Austin Powers, I used to have a friend in school that loved those movies and would want me to rewatch them with him ๐ YEAH BABY! Was a favourite saying of his, much to the embarrassment of his mother. ๐ And that was like 10-15 years after the first film was released, think she regretted buying him them. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I'm glad you're glad, and I laughed today as well lol. ๐๐๐
I guess I'll have to steer clear from your friend forever now. I'm ok with that, I don't think she'd have enjoyed my life choices... erm, I mean ingame decisions. Did she literally say "riding the bull"? What the hell. I know exactly what she means, but damn girl. I think we now know exactly why she plays the game. Hopefully she has not used her influence to taint your soul, as I'd be disappointed if she did. ๐
That being said, if you ever need to break it to her, don't worry, I'll be more than happy to have your back.
I may one day do a playthrough with a dwarf, but will finish with my current run first... once I actually get back into it. ๐คฃ
Oh! You haven't met Dorian yet. Ah, I see. Well then, you'll either love or hate him. Not sure there is an in between, unless you really wanna break his heart. But! Since you're playing as a female, that won't happen, obviously.
Girl, Vivienne... is a hell of a character. Again, you will either love OR hate her in terms of what she does (not personality). You'll see why in the long run. I won't spoil it, but she is definitely quite the character!
I love Austin Powers. Such great movies, and a great character! Somehow though... I don't think you'd want me to speak to you like if I was imitating Austin Powers, ๐๐๐ despite the fact that it would most likely be funny.
I have played some more TW3 btw. Man, combat is hard as hell lol. I barely survived an encounter with a bear. But now I met Yennefer though - she is good looking in terms of appearance and attire as well. Best female character in the game so far... Not hard to beat at this point, considering I only met peasants and a witch. ๐ As for the inn's owners, they are complete ingrates. Like, I just saved your life, and yes the patron's head just rolled onto the floor, but come on! I saved your life. I swear, the way people treat you in the game? Pfff.
