I hope so too 😂 We shall see how good of a game it is. Ima probably start the game later tonight though.
I have to admit that in most games, I absolutely hate playing any type of wizard/mage class. I've never been good when it came to playing with those. I once failed miserably playing as a Cleric once in NWN. I tried, I really tried... try killing an enemy with a wooden staff not meant for hitting. That being said, I absolutely love playing as a mage/wizard (or whatever they call it) in DAI. There is something about playing with a controller that is awesome with the game's mechanic. I am 100% sure you will enjoy it.
That being said, for some reason, whenever you boot up the game, it won't recognize the controller unless you turn the controller on first before booting the game up, not sure why. But, just thought I'd let you know. I've played the game with both a 360 controller an Xbox One controller fine thus far.
In terms of the character's bio etc., you learn everything about it ingame. The character isn't based on any characters from the previous games (they never are). That being said, you will learn a lot of him/her/them throughout the game. There are some recurring enemies you may have encountered in previous games. That's all I will say.
I... uhm... didn't realize you would actually let Ganondorf take over Hyrule. 😱
There are movies out there that you could totally watch and wonder what's going on in terms of the plot. Others, like Police Academy where you wonder why we haven't heard from that franchise again, considering it has 7 movies (and an animated series and 1 or 2 season(s) tv show).
I am happily surprised we were able to exchange as much as we did so far. I'm usually not really a people person.
I think you'll enjoy it especially now I've started DAI. 😁
So far I've spent longer than I'd like to admit in character creation. Lol. I think I've played for around 5 hours, and 3 of them were in character customisation. 😅 I actually told my friend (the one I mentioned before) that I've finally started playing DAI. And she left a message on my Animal Crossing town bulletin board saying "You better romance Iron Bull or we won't talk anymore" 🤣 and the second said "you won't get one of the best moments in the game 4real if ya don't do that". 🤣 Idk whether you've ever played Animal Crossing, but everyone who comes to your town sees your messages on your bulletin board. So I think if anyone else saw that they will be very confused, including me! 😂 I haven't even met his character yet. I've literally just met Cassandra and only played the first quest. Lol. So thank you for not giving any spoilers, unlike her, who was way too tempted. 😂😂
And nooo I wouldn't let Ganondorf do that. 😂 I just get on with the combat, even though it isn't my favourite in any game! lmao. 😅
And don't worry, to say you're not a people person you do well! 😄 I haven't ever posted on here, before about a week ago, despite having a EA account for 8 years! 😂 I actually came to report the face bug and then probably not log again, but I somehow ended up on this thread. 😂 So thought I'd post a little message on here, as something made me want to. I don't have discord or reddit, or anything similar. So must admit, usually I just read other peoples comments, rather than post my own. What a lurker I am! 🤣

@Mrs_K_Desormeaux
Good! I played around 3 hours so far of TW3 Wild Hunt. Do the choices make an actual difference in the game? As far a I remember, for DAI, it does.I am with you on that. Character creation is my favourite part of games, aside from making decisions. Which is probably why I love DAI, there is something so... amazing about that game. That being said, what race and class did you pick? As for Iron Bull... prepare to potentially not be friends with that other friend. 😂 Don't get me wrong, Iron Bull is pretty cool. But... there is a specific woman in the game I prefer myself. That being said, I won't say more. As for Cassandra, she's... something. I won't say good or bad, but she's quite something.
So far with TW3, it's very different mechanic wise. I've had trouble adjusting myself when it comes to physically moving my character lol. That being said, gog revamped the game and added content to it. Now it's 3rd person, with a mod for 1st person. I remember when I tried years ago, it was 1st person, and I was like, "nope!" I'm still getting used to moving... and I left my horse behind. It was easier going to my destination in a beeline than having him go off road (with the auto ride or whatever they call it), since it would take the left road when the destination was on the right. So I was like... aight, ima run there instead 🤣 No wonder, with a horse named Roach. 😂 He must be wanting to avoid humans.
No, I have never played Animal Crossing. I had an Xbox One until the Switch was out for like 4 years. Then, I bought the Nintendo Wii U. 😂😂😂 I was a generation behind, and only got it to play Zelda tbh. Then... I heard Front Mission (1, 2 and 3) were being remade for the Switch, so I bought a Switch later down the road. 🤣
Girl, we both know we'd take one look at Ganondorf, while pointing at a cave, and be like, "ima hide in there. I wanna survive, I don't wanna give myself up as bait or food for that thing. Although, getting food first would be wise. And water."
To be honest, I usually don't post on here either. I had my reasons as well (nothing nefarious, I promise lol), and then someone named Katie started posting lol. We got along, and I was like, "ima continue posting, because she's cool". To be frank, I don't have friends that really game (aside from my Discord group), so I thought it was awesome having someone who knows games and that I can talk to. In all honesty, my Discord family sometimes talk about cars and other mechanical stuff and I'm like, "..." and then I'm like "... ...". Thus, I am grateful I can talk to someone who I assume (but I could be wrong), doesn't ever want to talk about that type of stuff lol.
The way I see it, is that you have "people" and then you have "people 😎" (or is that "😎 people"?). People tend to stress me out, but people I actually get along with, I'm cool with them.

Indeed it does! The choices you make have a massive impact on the story and dialogue you get. BTW I've never seen TW3 from a 1st person perceptive. The games from TW1, TW2, and TW3 were always in 3rd person. So I have no idea how you ended up thinking it was a 1st person game? I wouldn't have played it if it was a 1st person game as they always remind me of shooters, and as you probably would've guessed, they're not my forte either. 😂
Also without giving any spoilers, Roach is a mare. Geralt always has female horses, specifically mares, and always names them Roach. 😊 Also remember, if you do make a certain decision you're not to keen on the way it plays out, you can always re-load. 😄 I actually choose the the same choices I choose the first time I played, as I'm very happy with them. I will say there is a series of questions early in the game that refer back to TW2. So that might confuse you a little, so if you run into a problem with them, just ask and I'll explain them. 😄 Btw you'll find TW3 is incredibly detailed, I personally, probably have around a 1000 hours in it and still find new things out when I replay. I almost forgot to say Cassandra voice actress sounds so much like a characters in TW3 Blood and Wine expansion. My favourite expansion of TW3, personally. 😊
Also, I too have a favourite lady in TW3, of whom that is I won't share. No spoilers here! 😂
Yes! totally, I'd be like "just chill dorfy, is it that important you own all of Hyrule? We can cut a deal, so you can have your own little area, then no fights needed" 🤣
"Nothing nefarious" 😂😂 I wouldn't have thought not posting on here was? LOL. That would mean I was the most nefarious person going. 🤣 As I literally haven't posted on here ever in my 8 years of having an account. 😅 And yes! I literally don't know anything about cars. All I know is they have wheels and a engine that should start when you turn the key. 🤣 Like I said before, anything that looks mechanical and complicated I won't touch. Major respect for people who do know what they're doing, unlike me. 😂
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Well then, I am curious to know what choices I can make. I dunno. I had tried several of them, and when I played them, they were always in 1st person for me. I dunno if they were forced mods by gog? I dunno *shrugs*. 😵 But I now get to try it in the 3rd person view. I don't play 1st person games, but for other reasons - I never liked the idea of playing as "arms" + a weapon. That just makes no sense to me and never did.
I just meant with a name like Roach... I feel bad for the horse. Thank God she doesn't understand human speech. Imagine if that was someone's nickname, I'd be horrified by that.
As for making choices, what if the choice you didn't choose end up being more interesting though? Would you watch a playthrough to see the other choices? Or you would stick with your initial choice? Colour me intrigued!
When I play the ME franchise, I often play a certain way so I end up seeing different choices, because I couldn't know what choice was better without knowing. To be fair, I sorta-ish play the same as you to a certain degree because if I can get rid of a specific character in the game for example, I'd always pick that choice (if I hate that character). That being said, it's hard at that point to feel fully content. So I understand why you play the way you play.
1000 hours you say? I can dig that. Especially if the game is amazing. Who knows, maybe you'll end up playing DAI just as much or even more. 😄 I think that could be the case *me/ crossing my fingers*
It could be the same actress, btw. You can google it (as I have no idea which person you're referring to in TW3). I've seen some voice actors in different franchises lol. It's so weird though when that happens.
If you'd call him "dorfy". I think he would would very confused for a moment, and be like, "what did she just call me? What even is a dorfy?" Oh... I see. Smart move. You would do that to run away, expecting Link or someone else to make "peace" with Ganon. I gotchu.
Your nefarious post at the end. That was good LOL. If anything, what I had said sorta sounded suspicious LOL, so hence why I added the words "nothing nefarious", which yeah, is to clear the air. That's just how I am lol. I assume a lot of people would find that odd to say the least XD *shrugs*
I knew it! You ARE a Drow. Maybe not in DAI, but at least in real life. 😎
I am so glad you don't like cars. That is the best news I've had today! 😂
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
I have never played The Witcher 3 through gog, so I'd imagine it's on their side as to why the game was odd. I've played it on console, and also watched other playthroughs after I'd finished my own, and all are in 3rd person like RDR and many other RPG's. 😊 The game was developed to be 3rd person. So I have zero ideas why the game was in 1st person for you. 🤔
The name Roach means something to Geralt. but even in the books he doesn't share exactly what the name means to him, even when people ask. I was like "Roach is her name, really?" at first too. There's never an explanation sadly as to why he chose a name like Roach, for a sweet pony like...…Roach. 🤣
I have watched many playthroughs of alternate choices, and how it changes the ending. I watched xLetalis and Jinzee/ProperBird on YouTube for that. I have my own "canon" choices that I always choose, so therefore I call them my canon. 😂 I didn't play with other choices. As I just couldn't bring myself to choose anything that might lead to a bad ending. I love my canon ending to much for that. 😂 But couldn't help checking out all the alternatives, and it made me more happy with my choices. 😊
Yes, 1000 hours! It was exceptionally easy too, I love that CDPR gives you your money's worth when it comes to content for sure! I am enjoying DAI a lot so far, so maybe 1000 hours will be possible to meet some day! 😄
She's not the same VA, I googled it as soon as I heard her voice, Lol.
There's a lot that can go wrong with cars too, so they've always scared me rather than excited me. 😂
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
I also forgot to say I choose Elven Mage as my selection for DAI! I'm also playing as a female for my first playthrough. 😊★
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Wait. I was sure I had seen your comment as the Elf and responded. I found my comment. Wait, why is my comment about you being a Drow before you said you were an Elven Mage. 🤯 This is weird? But ok lol.
Ohhhhhh, that may explain it. No one wants to play 1st person on a console lol. 1st person is the bane of my gaming existence. At least you have my back when I say that. As for types of games I'm utterly horrible at would include any platformer and any online FPS, because I never cheat like countless people.Ok! I couldn't help myself. But since we're talking about a horse here and a man who is apparently despised by random people, I think the following is funny... so please forgive me - pretty please *puppy eyes*. 😂 Geralt is just a *, right? That's why he doesn't tell anyone about why he calls her that:
Geralt: "You are one ugly horse, so ugly. Your name will be Roach from now on." That's what happened. I can't imagine naming a horse Roach and think it's ok to call him the same thing as a cockroach. When I heard the horse's name, I was like, "wtf is wrong with you, dude?" He is NOT ok as a character. *shake fist atRoachGeralt* yes, I am that tired 😂 hence why I am just striking out what I had written in first, since it makes it funnier.Oh, I see. You look at other people playing and then knowing you made the right decisions. Aight, aight (I work with young people - their influence). As for what you consider a bad ending, what is a bad ending? I mean, how do you honestly define an ending as bad?
Have you ever played Front Mission 3 on PS1? If not, please play both paths (they are very different from each other - like 2 different stories, for real), and tell me which path is good. I absolutely love that game, and I've always wanted to know which ending was "good". I need a definitive answer.
I am glad you're enjoying DAI thus far. It's a fairly lengthy game, and is pretty damn amazing imo. Choose your options carefully. This is one game where you may think the choice you make is the right now, but may or may not be.
A lot, yes. Like falling over while trying to get in using the step (if there is one) because you're almost 6 feel tall. Thank God we don't have that car. Although, I actually don't drive. 🤣
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
I had trouble with that post. so I think I accidently posted it twice, sorry about that. 😂
I've also played TW3 on PC, and it was in 3rd person. So I think 100% it was a forced mod, as the game comes in 3rd person, how annoying to have a 1st person perspective when the game was made in to be in 3rd person. Seriously though, who wants a forced 1st person mod? That's just cruel! 🤣
Geralt is a darling really, some people are just rude to him for absolutely no reason. 😂
What I consider a bad ending is a ending that I don't like, it might not be in other peoples opinions though. Also endings that don't match the characters personalities, I want lore accurate stuff here! 😂 (I just can't bring myself to choose a option that I don't like personally. it's just a habit of mine).
I've never played Front Mission 3 on PS1. But funnily enough I was reading a couple of weeks ago that it'll be remade for the switch. Maybe I'll play it on the switch when I get the chance. 😊
I love lengthy games! I know some people complain about games being "too long" but I seriously love long games. It's amazing to be impressed that you've actually gotten your money's worth! TW3 is also a long game filled with amazing content. Also in TW3 there's character panel where you can read a bit about the background of some of the characters, it doesn't tell you everything. But it does tell you the basics you need to learn more about them! 😄
I don't have the being tall problem with cars as I'm only 5'4. 😅 But I have injured myself climbing in and out of cars anyway. (I am clumsy though, so maybe that's why.😂)
Oh, and make sure you don't get so tired you go on angry rants. 😆 I do the same thing but go on what I call one of my confusing rants, that confuse me, and anybody else! 🤣
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Ooooooh, that makes a lot of sense 😂 I thought I was just really tired and you know. You got me good there!
I think we can both agree that people forcing 1st person view are... I hate use the word, but evil. You try living a good life, but then someone comes around, and then baaaaam! Imposition of 1st person view. How dare they soil what could have been perfectly good games? 😫 lol.
Geralt, a darling? I dunno man, I haven't played enough to know if he is. But, I will for now take your word for it. There is someone or 2 that are what you would consider darlings in DAI. I know they'll feel real, and your emotions just as much so, but remember they are fictitious. 😃 But I do get it. You play with them for so long and then the story ends. If I may, there is a certain bearded man... go for him all the way. That's all I'll say. You'll thank me. 😄
Nobody likes a bad ending lol. Unless you're the villain OR running a "renegade" playthrough. I do love SWOTOR (not the MMO, but the actual 2 games)... and you get to play as a Sith if that suits your fancy. 😏
This just popped into my head, have you played Super Mario RPG? That's the ONLY Mario game I ever replay, because it is such an SNES gem. Do you have a Switch? If so, see if you can get that game through the Switch's SNES emulator.
Yeah, and I also mentioned that in one of my posts here about FM 3. 🤣 If you get the chance, play the remake. All the games are unrelated to each other, so you won't be missing a beat 🙂 The 3rd is imho, the magnus opus of games. Dead serious. I hope the remake will reflect that. If you do end up playing it, we can play it together at the same time and talk about it 🙂
Lengthy games can be fun, but the game HAS to be fun in and of itself, obviously. I remember my first playthroughs of FM 3, since there are 2 paths, I played the game again. Each path is minimum 75 hours each, if played normally. Or much more, depending on how you play it. Or possibly less. Again, depends how it's played.
As for TW3, I'd have to read some once I get used to the game lol.
5"4? That is the perfect height. You're not too tall, but not too short where it's an inconvenience. I could be be wrong, you're the one who is 5"4 lol. While I'm a few inches short of 6 feet. Though I do have to ask (as I am apparently the more nosey one here): How did you injure yourself getting into a car?
lol, naw. What could become an "angry" rant if it I'm annoyed at someone because of something. If I'm simply very tired, I may take much longer to formulate my thoughts lol.
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Don't worry, he is indeed a darling! 😂 Yennefer is too, I love her character development the most in the books. 😊 So far in DAI Josephine has come across as a bit of a darling to me. My friend left another message on my animal crossing bulletin board simply saying "male Dwarf & Iron Bull is something you need to see, It's the funniest romance option in gaming history" LOL (I'm starting to think she's a Iron Bull stan) 🤣 I really might need therapy if I ever do a playthrough like that. 🤣 My playthrough is deadly serious! 😂 Vanilla it will be, as BioWare intended! 😂😂
I'm sorry to say I've never played Mario RPG. A lot of the classic Mario games, I have to admit, I haven't played sadly, other than of course, the OG Mario Cart. 😂
Thank you for believing 5'4 isn't short. 😂 I've known many people I've considered tall, call me short and I was like "it's only because your tall" 😂 I do seem to make friends that are extremely tall though, I had a friend back in school who was 5'11 at 12! And of course it made me look and feel shorter than ever. 🤣
And I've injured myself in the past just by hitting myself on doors, corners, and simply anything that hurts to bump into. I have that problem, sometimes I'm clumsy enough to literally just walk into things. 😂
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I think I will prefer her over him lol. Too bad you can only play as him thought 😔
Speaking of books, have you ever heard of Steven Erikson? Let me say this: George R.R. Martin has nothing over him. You should definitely try his books, once you realize what he's doing in terms of the universe... you'll go bonkers! I promise ya 😉
Yes! Josephine, she was the one I was referring to who was my darling in the game. She was the first one I romanced in the game, actually. Seems like we would romance the same characters in DAI lol.
As for Iron Bull, I do have a saved game that I haven't played in a bit (gaming fatigue tbh at that point - as it was my 2nd playthrough in a row lol... it's a very long game). Anyhow, I created a mage (if I recall correctly), and the same specie as Iron Bull. But yeah, go with the bearded man, I promise you will fall in love with him as long as you stick with him till the end. He's not my favourite, but there is something to say about his entire backstory. You won't regret it. It'll stir some emotions within you.
OMG. Ok, after DAI, you and I are playing Mario RPG. It is simultaneously the cutest and most badass RPG I have played. I too haven't played much of anything Mario related, aside from the originals and yes, including Mario Kart. I have Mario Kart 8 as well, but my fav will always be the original.
Oh, don't worry. My aunt is 5"0, and that is starting to be short lol. But 5"4? That's a good height :D I can look into someone's eyes who is 5"6 and feel they're my height, despite me being closer to 6 feet than 5"6 lol.
Awwwww, sorry to hear that lol. I take it you stared your friend down, and left. Like Kagome does with InuYasha. 🤣 Oh! Please 🥺 have someone record you bumping into things, like a telephone pole or whatever. 😂 But please, don't injure yourself by accident though lol.
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Honestly you will love both of them! 😊 TW3 is an incredible game. I promise you, once you get into it you'll love it (or at least I think you will!). It's my favourite game so...pressures on me! 😂 Also if you're ever confused about a characters backstory you can also look on TW3's fandom page, where you can read about some of the book lore. 😁
I have heard of Steven Erickson, but I've actually never read any of his books. I haven't actually read any George R.R. Martins books either, I also haven't watched Game Of Thrones. Despite being told many times I should watch it. 😂 When I tell some people I haven't watched it they're like "......." I just say "K, I live under a rock, alright! Don't judge". 🤣 I must admit Sapkowski's books get quite a lot of praise but I was quite confused at times, but maybe it's because I wasn't reading it right IDK. I also didn't like parts of the last book, the ending wasn't my favourite. I'm glad The Witcher games are post books rather than the actual stories of the books, as they finish the story perfectly.
And so far in DAI I'm having a difficult time figuring out my who favorite darling is! 😂 They seriously are all likeable in different ways. I really like the humour from characters like Varric and Sera. It really makes the game extra fun, I never realised how important humour in games is to me! I knew it made a game more likeable, but now I think it's as important as the story. 😂 Also, I've met Blackwall now, but sadly, I'd already gone for mah boi Cullen because he has a FUURR collar! 🤣 Plus my inquisitor didn't meet Blackwall for ages, because I went to Val Royeaux before I looked through all the Hinterlands (me being impatient 😂). I actually don't know why I didn't play DAI sooner, seen as I'd been told to play it many times. In fact, I remember seeing xLetalis do videos on the choices in the game. And thinking it looked good but never playing it for myself.
I couldn't possibly get anyone to make a record of my clumsiness, or they'd be adding to it constantly. 🤣
Oh, I almost forgot to add, me being nosey here! What quest are you on in The Witcher so far? Did you do them Witcher 2 questions without hesitating, if so, that's hardcore! It doesn't make much of a difference to the game, but I remember being like "what is he talking about! I've never played TW2" I just chose the options that sounded right IMO without googling it, I just hoped I hadn't choose anything weird that would ruin my playthrough. 😅😂
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Yes indeed, the pressure is on you LOL. I guess we are playing each other's fav PC game? That should make for an interesting conversation lol.
OMG, please read the first one called: Gardens of the Moon. Title is weird as hell, but man... such a good book.
*ecstatically huge smile* I refuse to watch Game of Thrones, I absolutely refuse to. I didn't know someone else felt the same way! 🤣 We might live under a rock, but a very premium rock, I might add, girl.
Yes, they are. Varric... if you really want to get to know him, you'll need to play the 2nd game. That being said, I think you would enjoy the main character from the 2nd game. Maybe not the game as much (if at all), but I think you'd enjoy playing as a male protagonist in the 2nd one.
OMG, Serra??? Oh God have mercy LOOOOOL. Most people hate her XD But hey, if you like her? Kudos to you! Wait till you meet the other one. As long as you don't try dating her, I think you'll be fine 😉 Which you could, if you're playing as a female.
Break it off with Cullen 😂 He's definitely not Blackwell. 😏 Don't get me wrong, Cullen is great-ish. But on a serious note, keep at it with Cullen, I am sure you'll enjoy his backstory and all.
I am glad you didn't go with Iron Bull though. Not as much... interesting plot with him imo. I hope you'll tape yourself telling your friend you did not pick Iron Bull. You know the gif with Michael Jackson eating popcorn? Yeah? That would be me, thank you very much! I am legit interested to know what she'll say to you.
Hold on... you picked Cullen because he has fur? 🤔 Are you saying you... like... Chewbacca from Star Wars? Oh! Don't worry. I'm not judging at all, I'm just interested in knowing. This (what I said) somehow seems so wrong. 😂😂😂 *shrugs* Totally not meant to be. *me/ facepalm and walk of shame*
Oh yeah, DAI... OMG such an amazing game. I hope you'll make amazing choices. BUT! That being said, I think you'll find it hard to make the "right" choices at times. What IS morality? You'll soon find out it can be harder than you expect. Much harder. I relish that fact. Ok, probably not the right word, but I just ate, so, yeah. But I don't relish relish. I prefer ketchup, mayo and even mustard.
If you say you feel you're that clumsy, I can't really not believe you, you know lol.
I have been helping my mom a lot this week and had some personal things to take care of, so I really haven't had the chance to game whatsoever. I will most likely start play again in a few days (though I am hoping tomorrow - technically today). But, I will keep you updated. Once I get further.
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
That's okay! Helping your Mom is much more important, I also have trouble finding time to play games, it's like when you've finally got some time, it's time to go to sleep. 😂
I will look into Gardens Of The Moon, I've read a few books lately that have been a bit poor so it'd make a difference to read a good book. 😁
I'm enjoying DAI! Great recommendation. I can't believe I hadn't played it after 8 years of it being out. Maybe they'll announce the next Dragon Age after I've finally played the other games too. 😂 I just hope you enjoy my favourite game too! 😊
I might go ahead and tell her through her animal crossing bulletin board that I'm doing a Iron Bull free playthrough. She'll freak out! 🤣 I think she had an idea I'd go for someone else! 😂 She just wanted me to see Iron Bull with a dwarf!! LOL.
I'm glad you can relate to not watching Game Of Thrones! Living under a premium rock is something I can definitely vibe with. 🤣
YES! Sera doesn't p*ss me off as much as other people, she's just strange which I find funny during serious quests. I didn't know she swung that way, I've been educated! 😂 I knew Dorian did, as my friend also wanted me to go ahead and romance him and Iron Bull at the same time playing as a male dwarf. 😳😂
I'm interested to hear Blackwall's story. His beard is hiding a lot then I gather! 😂
I like Cullen's style. 😂 I did actually choose Cullen for more than his nice jacket really. Especially the fact that his tarot card doesn't make him look good, so had to feel for him there 🤣
You dug a hole with the Chewbacca thing didn't you?! 😂 Chewbacca is based on a newfoundland after all, so how could he not be a cute little doggo. but anyone liking him in any other way is NOT accepted! 🤣
Morality is a big theme in The Witcher actually, some choices did make me think there was no actual right one. So if Dragon Age is the same I'm going to be as flustered as I was choosing some decisions as I was in TW3. 😂 I get what you mean about some sauces. Some are just awful. I tried satay sauce once, and never forgot how much it shocked me with how much I disliked it. I love Mayo with a passion though! Absolute top tier sauce. My love for mayo has shown...now I must leave *dramatically leaves with mayonnaise, much to the anger of ketchup* 😂
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Yeah, agreed!
And totally, though in my case, it's more like... Oh, I have to go work now. Where did the time go? Right, eating and trying to wake up. 😂
What I adore about DAI, is that even by today's standards, it's a pretty damn good game graphics wise and especially game play mechanic wise. I am absolutely shocked when I play other games like Jedi Fallen Order, and the controls aren't as good. Like what the hell?
Hopefully I will, too early to tell lol. But, I do love the fact that gog incorporated mods though. Thus, I have no idea what's the real experience of the game is supposed to be like.
To quote whoever coined this term, "you go girl!" And pleeeeease tell me her reaction. If she disavows you, I wanna know. Ok, and what is this thing about dwarves and other species together??? Ooooooooooh! I remember my second run of Dragon Age Origins. I had a Dwarf female, and she was dating this [I guess] good looking guy (I think? You can tell me if you ever play the original - I honestly can't tell lol). Anyhow, at some point, one of the responses was akin to her saying something like how she can't believe he's into her. And then he says something like, "Oh, you know how good looking you are! You were just fishing for a compliment". To be fair, my female Dwarf was cute lol. But like... Dwarves in general... not my type of specie if they actually existed. Now I will stop talking before I embarrass myself. 😂
Oh yeah, Blackwall is... quite the character if you decide to have a vested interest in him, be it romantic or otherwise. That being said, you will learn a lot about Cullen though with him. His story does get interesting in the long run.
As for Dorian, such a good friend. Good one. Didn't realize you met him.
As for Chewbacca... 🤣🤣🤣 Nothing like a good bromance? 😂 Realtalk though, I have zero interest in their specie. The only cross-specie I would be ok with as a human would be with Elves and Elven sub-races. I've said enough about this topic. 😂
Hopefully you are content with your choices. 🙂
*dramatically leaves and takes the mayo from your hands and grab a bottle of ketchup, as I swing both ways. Who doesn't?* 😂😂😂 And if I'm feeling even more adventurous and want to live dangerously, I may add some relish. 😏
Again... *me/ walk of shame* as you would probably appreciate these types of jokes a la Austin Powers, had you seen the movies.

In case you couldn't tell, you made me laugh pretty hard today 😂😂😂
(in case you missed it, other post is on page 12 - at least for me) - Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Glad I made you laugh with my odd late night ramblings! 😂
So I got a reply from my friend! 😂 She said "I HAVE NO WORDS! VANILLA CULLEN! 4 REAL!? WAT WERE U THIKIN' GURL. OMGG THE DWAARFS HAVE BEEN CHEATED OUT OF RIDIN' THE BULL!! I WILL NOW ANNOY UR VILLAGERS IN AN ATTEMPT TO SERVE JUSTICE 4 DWAARFF KINDD! 🤣 She even linked a video on YouTube of a dwarf playthrough with Iron Bull, LOL. Gotta say, it was hilarious, she was right about me finding it ridiculously funny. 😂 She has a habit of wanting me to playthrough games with silly choices that are usually very funny, but I'm trying to playthrough all serious and such! Lol. Don't know how I'll break it to her that I'll probably never play as a dwarf! 😂
You're right! I haven't met Dorian yet, I was just told about him by my friend, in great detail as per usual. 😂 She's the type of person that can't let you go into a game without knowing anything, I don't think she can resist if she likes the game! 😂 BTW isn't Vivienne such a amazing badass character! I weirdly really like her. 😆
*Doesn't have any valid comeback for such thieving* 😂 I have to admit I have watched some Austin Powers, I used to have a friend in school that loved those movies and would want me to rewatch them with him 😂 YEAH BABY! Was a favourite saying of his, much to the embarrassment of his mother. 😂 And that was like 10-15 years after the first film was released, think she regretted buying him them. 🤣🤣🤣
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I'm glad you're glad, and I laughed today as well lol. 😂😂😂
I guess I'll have to steer clear from your friend forever now. I'm ok with that, I don't think she'd have enjoyed my life choices... erm, I mean ingame decisions. Did she literally say "riding the bull"? What the hell. I know exactly what she means, but damn girl. I think we now know exactly why she plays the game. Hopefully she has not used her influence to taint your soul, as I'd be disappointed if she did. 😂
That being said, if you ever need to break it to her, don't worry, I'll be more than happy to have your back.
I may one day do a playthrough with a dwarf, but will finish with my current run first... once I actually get back into it. 🤣
Oh! You haven't met Dorian yet. Ah, I see. Well then, you'll either love or hate him. Not sure there is an in between, unless you really wanna break his heart. But! Since you're playing as a female, that won't happen, obviously.
Girl, Vivienne... is a hell of a character. Again, you will either love OR hate her in terms of what she does (not personality). You'll see why in the long run. I won't spoil it, but she is definitely quite the character!
I love Austin Powers. Such great movies, and a great character! Somehow though... I don't think you'd want me to speak to you like if I was imitating Austin Powers, 😂😂😂 despite the fact that it would most likely be funny.
I have played some more TW3 btw. Man, combat is hard as hell lol. I barely survived an encounter with a bear. But now I met Yennefer though - she is good looking in terms of appearance and attire as well. Best female character in the game so far... Not hard to beat at this point, considering I only met peasants and a witch. 😂 As for the inn's owners, they are complete ingrates. Like, I just saved your life, and yes the patron's head just rolled onto the floor, but come on! I saved your life. I swear, the way people treat you in the game? Pfff.
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Haha! She's got a great sense of humour. I'm not to sure whether she can put up with mine sometimes. 🤣 And yes that's exactly how she wrote it! I spit out my drink when I read it as I wasn't expecting all caps and the quote 'riding the bull'. 😂
I literally have added every single possible character addition to the inquisition, I didn't even question them on why, I was just like "Yeah sure, you can join". 😂 I'm even more intrigued by Vivienne now! I let her join without asking her any questions as well because I loved her introduction so much! 🤣
I recommend playing on story only difficulty, at least for the first time anyway, I know I did (such a pro gamer I am). 😂😂
Yennefer is stunning! A lot of people are put off by her personality when they don't know her well. But that's her, she's a contrast, black and white, lilac and gooseberries, all opposites just like her personality. She's very complicated, but loves Geralt and Ciri and puts that above everything and anybody else. Even though she comes across as maybe a little abrasive in some people's opinion, I love her character personally. In the games there's a certain sorceress you meet early on that hasn't got a massive cameo but she's got some of my favourite quotes in the game, She's a sort of a take her or leave her sort of character too. But I also love her character. 😊
For sure! The Inn keep is so ungrateful. She's actually one of the most annoying characters in the game. And she literally only has a tiny part, 😂 but I always get annoyed at her every time! As do most Witcher players though, so it's not just us! 😂
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I assumed she wrote it like that. And I was loving all of it! 🤣 I dunno if she can put up with yours. Thankfully I can! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not sure she could deal with mine either, especially not some Austin Powers one, which don't worry, I seldom use it. I may not be as charming as Austin Powers, but at least I have better looking teeth. 😂 Don't quote me on the before last before. *me/ pensive* 🤔
Ok, have own getting backstabbed by one of them at some point. 😂 I'm just kidding though. But seriously though, yeah, you can add random people who make no sense sometimes, that you're like, "Yes! Wait, was that person maybe a maniacal serial killer or something?" As for Serra, you think she's funny... but wait until you see more of her down the stretch. Hopefully you'll learn more about her. God, please don't, please don't torture yourself. 😂
I... Am playing on the easiest difficulty, that's how I beat the bear finally lol. 😂 Just like you, I'm a pro gamer! Ironically, I beat the entire Mass Effect trilogy on the highest difficulty. I can't even beat a bear on the 2nd lowest difficulty. 😂😂😂 I guess that's one of the reasons why we hate FPS games, right? Aside the fact that FPS games are just bad lol.
I can't say I have any issues with Yennefer. Better than the protagonist, and she looked good in her attire. Like dude, why can't MY character look as good as Yennefer. I wish I WAS playing as Yennefer. 😂
I can't wait to meet Ciri, since I'd like to know how they make her look and sound. That's assuming you meet her, for all I know, she might have been kidnapped or worse, murdered by those frosty knights.
Thank you! I feel vindicated. The evil side of my character wanted to burn the inn down. 😂 I wish you could play as evil though, like in Neverwinter Nights (OG). Don't get me wrong, I'm the sweetest person you'll meet lol, but I do enjoy my share of ingame fun. It makes games like Neverwinter Nights (OG) more interesting, as you have to solve things a different way, which may sometimes be harder.
EDIT: OMG, I know it's really old school and I keep talking about it... but you could totally buy Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition at 85% off on GOG right now :D So you can play as a complete saint or a complete devil lol. I think ima buy it :D Some people say they don't like that edition, but you can install the Diamond edition instead. It actually allows you to install both. Sorry if I keep talking about it, I enjoyed that game so much when I was younger, and excited to have bought it lol. And compared to the Dragon Age franchise, it has way more races, and especially way more classes AND prestige classes (which are "better" classes... and A LOT of them). - Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
I told her that I'm not going to do a dwarf playthrough anytime soon, and she sent me this link explaining her reaction AHHHHH - YouTube 😂😂 Any normal playthrough is 'vanilla' in her opinion, but I think vanilla is an amazing flavour. 🍦😆
Easiest difficulty is the WAY, Lol. If I played on harder difficulties in some games I'd have never finished them. 😂 Me being such a pro gamer *sarcasm intended*
BTW if you aren't into Geralt's outfit, the ursine armor is a nice one when you get the diagrams to craft it. There's others too, but that's one of my favourites in the base game. My favourite in the game plus DLC's is the manticore armor, I like that armor the most. 😊
Also the wild hunt are elves from their own realm, it's explained in the game, but not to the point I appreciated (Me being a diva 😂). It's difficult to know that straight off the bat if you've not read the books. They dress in such unusual outfits it's hard to actually know they're elves. 😂
It's absolutely fine to talk about your favourite games with passion! I get all nerdy about The Witcher TBH. 😂 I completely get that there's some games that have a place in your heart for many different reasons! I will totally look into NWN after my DAI playthrough. 😊★
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
That does not sound like an upset woman there, your friend 😂 So... I guess she decided to remain friends with you after all lol.In many games, I usually play Human since they have some basic advantages that other races just don't have. That being said, other viable races are either Elves or Half-Elves (if the game has them). As for Dwarves, I only played as one in the original Dragon Age Origins. I mean, I get why people find it hilarious playing as them. 😂 That being said, NWN has so many races and even more classes that it's insane to think you could have a fav class. 🤣
I concur. Playing on harder difficulty in modern games is like a death sentence for your character. I mean, for real, how is the easiest difficulty something I consider to be maybe like a 3 out of 6 in terms of difficulty? 😂 And then, the second highest is like a new game+ type of thing, but without your stuff and a considerably higher difficulty level because you don't have end game stuff. Don't worry, I know you're a pro gamer. E-Sport gamers have nothing on you. Nothing. I promise! I should know, I'm as good as you :D
There are legit some games I have NEVER finished because I just couldn't because the end boss (or near end boss) was so difficult. If I recall correctly, the PS2 game which I loved called Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, had this specific way of weakening the near end boss and all... I was like: "wtf is this?" As for Final Fantasy XII, which is the worst of the bunch... I couldn't beat the end boss. I was like: "...Uhm, so doing minimal damage to a boss that has 2+ million HP. Ok... ok. I'm screwed" I just gave up at that point. For the first one, it's a shame, since The Third Age is a great RPG imo. Fairly good characters and a good story. I just don't have the patience to have to perform specific types of attacks in order to really weaken the enemy, and then use further attacks to improve my own attacks, and THEN attack - sure, lemme try like 30 combinations and see what hurts the boss 🙄 . Older RPGs never had that type of bs. Older RPGs were simple: Attack and/or use magic, and items if need be, period.
Ima consider that armour your referred to. That is... if I ever get the diagram for it 😂 The one I have right now looks like a red and white padded armour. 🤣
Major spoiler girl loooool. I did not know they were Elves. I thought they were some evil badasses that looked awesome, and terrifying at the same time. Wait, so are you calling ME a diva as well, because I'd want all those explanations in plain sight (in the game)? Well, there goes all my spirit as a man, now a diva. 😂😂😂 I can't pull that off as a "diva". I know I can't cut it as one. Unless you wanna teach me how to be a manly diva like James Harden. 😂 (if you don't watch b-ball, don't worry, I'm not a huge huge fan of b-ball). This is what I am referring to about James Harden (such a popular gif):
Awwwww, you are a sweetheart! 😄 Aside from the clearly dated graphics, lemme know what you think of the story and game mechanics. If you play the game, if you meet a Dwarven Monk... Please get him. That guy can be hilariously dark. I mean, there are some very interesting characters in the game. Lemme say this: the Neverwinter Nights (OG) is literally the reason why Dragon Age as well as The Witcher franchises exist. It defined the genre in a way that was based on story. Not only was it driven by story, but driven by character development. If there is one thing I know you would appreciate is everything that you can do in the original game (plus expansions). There's no game, imo, that ever came close to Neverwinter Nights (OG - not to confused with the MMO of the same name) that did what they did with a game. Maybe it's my younger self speaking, but what can I say? lol.
If anything, I'm happy I can share things with you that I couldn't with others. Which is the reason why I'm actually trying a game I never would have otherwise. It's nice to be able to connect with someone in that way, since most of the time people won't care about XYZ. I've never met another gamer where either they were actually interested in something I had to say in regards to specific games (regardless of the game's age), or where I was like: "yeah I'll try that game [because you're recommending it]". That, and you do make me laugh.😂 Oh! And the fact that I was the person who finally convinced you to play DAI, that's golden [in a good way]! 🤗🤗🤗
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Amazingly well written reply, I could never! Lol.
What's hilarious about the Dwarfs too, is the fact the game mechanics make them instantly grow taller for certain cutscenes. 😂
I get what you mean about some games being so tricky you can't finish them! I have had that problem with some, but I've usually realised my difficulty was just one mark above easiest. 🤣
OMG I'm so sorry I spoilt that for you! But I will still say they are still evil badasses that just happen to be elves 😂 James Harden's expression is how I felt when I saw some armor in TW3, LOL. I get what you mean by the red padded armor! 😂🤣 BTW, fun fact, I think you should get along with Geralt seen as your a ISTJ and on the 16 personalities website they consider Geralt a ISTJ. 😄
There really are games that are certified OG status! Games that start a precedent of games with themes that go deeper than a FPS (Sorry to FPS games 😂). And you find yourself going back to those games that have that fuzzy feeling about them, I know I do. Even games that aren't even known by many but they have a special place for me, sometimes it's because it just gives you major nostalgia or just because you love them! Like how annoying the Mii music was, and now it's certified platinum (at least to me anyway) 😂
And thank you! 😊★ I completely understand what you mean about people being put off because of a games age, I'm not as I looveee so many games that are considered little older now, they don't deserve just to be ignored because they might be older than a year or two. I think you were spot on about DAI holding up to this day, graphics wise too, I think the same about TW3 and they're basically the same age. With Dragon Age I was always like "hmm should I play it, it looks like a game I'd like" but never played it for some reason, but with it being one of your favourite games of all time, I couldn't ignore that. 😄 I also haven't purchased a new game from EA in ages, and by ages I mean years. 😂 Living under a premium rock problems! Lol.
Edit: Completely forgot to suggest to put the gwent level to the easiest too, as it really took me some time to learn how to play it properly. 🤣
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Thanks! Not sure what was great, but I accept the compliment. 😄
The moment you realize you suck at a game, and that the second difficulty is too hard for some reason compared to the first difficulty is the instant you know someone programmed difficultires but forgot to program them ingame. 😂
Gwent? Yeah... that thing is like the weirdest thing to understand playing honestly LOL. Like... you want me to tell you when I think I can win? Ok, sure, ok game.
Male Dwarf character: "My love grows for you every aching moment I am without you."
Female Human character: "Is this why you are now as tall as I am, my love?"
I almost wrote an entire love dialogue lol, but decided it may be too much XD I actually really want to LOL, since that's what I'm good at lol. I'd try for it to not be cheesy.
Naw, you're alright. I should have figured humans don't recklessly use magic in this game. 🤣 That and the fact that they are called the Wild Hunt. Only Elves live in the forest. Even Lord of the Rings know that. 😂
Sometimes, I wonder what type of colour blind blacksmith and armour smith existed that thought they were creating a masterpiece. Like for real. Guy thinks red and white are great colour combinations. Commander of the army be like: "Yes indeed! Let us hide within these luscious ferns and trees. The enemy will obviously never see us!"
You hated the Wii music? Interesting. I know some youtubers say they liked it. I guess it might have been either you love or hate it type of thing. I actually never paid attention to it. 😂 So... I literally have no opinion about whether I liked it or not back then.
Awwwww, that is so sweet that you did the test multiple times just to see what types of people were like me. I prefer thinking that than you googling it or something. 😂
You said: "With Dragon Age I was always like "hmm should I play it, it looks like a game I'd like" but never played it for some reason, but with it being one of your favourite games of all time, I couldn't ignore that"
That is definitely the sweetest thing anyone could do when it comes to gaming. I do appreciate your words, thank you! 🤗🤗🤗 Rather, I should say in general, as gaming is a real investment time wise. Especially for a game like that. It means a lot to me. Thank you :D I know it may sound corny saying all this, but I have been a gamer all my life, and it's always nice having someone who actually gets it.
- Missie_Kate3 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Believe it or not, Gwent has a standalone game! 😂 That's how iconic it is! Lol.
Lol! I wouldn't of minded a full Dwarf story! 😂
Maybe that was the aim of the red and white armor, for everyone to see them and be like "ohhh, those guys are looking snazzy in that hedge over there" then the enemy would be so distracted with the colours, they get surrounded and captured. 10/10 design IMO. 🤣
It's a nice thought to think I'd actually have enough patience to do that test multiple times, but I don't. 🤣 Here's the page for all the personalities. Personality Types | 16Personalities
I didn't hate the Mii music, I actually always grooved with it, 🤣 but it does get very repetitive if you spent too long in the Mii channel, but if you didn't it was fine. 😂
Thank you! 😊 As for DAI I've sided with the mages because..well....they're mages so why wouldn't I, Lol. It seems my mage inquisitor is extremely biased. 🤣 I must admit I didn't even know I was making a big choice at the time. 😂
- Midevil_Chaos3 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I know lol, I saw the game on Steam... but the TW3 version looks so much better than the standalone game (go figure). 😂
Strangely enough, Ciri (adult) looks way better made than Ciri (kid). The kid version looks like she's a Dwarf that somehow grew into a Human body. 🤣
I dunno? It's possible they went with that design choice? But I know thing, my Geralt is going to murder that person regardless. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh come on! You weren't supposed to admit that about the personality test. 😂😂😂 Now I don't feel special anymore, well I feel... special, but not not in a good way now. 🤣
You should totally get your Wii out, and place it on loops for several hours. That being said, there are videos online about stuff like Nyan Cat, Gandalf Sax, Where has the Rum gone?, They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard! etc., and then loops for 10 hours (if you search for the 10 hour versions). Those are GREAT, I love them. I would sometimes play those videos, usually for at least several hours. But, I could understand how someone may not necessarily want to. 😂
Oh yeah! You were making THE choice of a lifetime. I am surprised you are THAT far honestly. Damn...
Currently, I am brawling with some guys and just became champion of the port city (the one before you set sail). Going back to Velen first though to become champion there. That being said, I'm only doing it for the money lol. Good money to be made from all the fights together. As for the story thus far, well, the Baron is dead. So is his wife. Wasn't my plan for this to happen, but what can you do? I didn't like the Baron, I thought he was a maniacal wife beater who enjoyed making a fool of himself.
Well then, if you want a story... let me create one of for you. Starting with several paragraphs for Chapter 1 of a story I will call "The Golden Age of Chaos".
Characters (Male Dwarf: Hornack, Female Human: Selene, Male Human: Craven. Best I can do on such short notice, as I usually take a while to come up with names (and titles). 🤣🤣🤣 The rest to come later I guess). Thus, here are the first bits of a story just for you, Katie:
Hornack: "My love grows for you every aching moment I am without you."
Selene: "Is this why you are now as tall as I am, my love?"
Hornack: "Laugh all you will, but we both know the pain in your heart is what lets that sadness burst out of your chest. It has become your way of protecting that fragile love for me.
I may be a lowly Dwarf from the Mining Caste, yet I know the worth of gold is nothing in comparison to that bond we share. Aye, 'tis true that many have threatened our love because they couldn't stomach how such a beautiful woman such as yourself could adore a Dwarf like myself."
As he softly spoke to Selene, she became teary eyed as she couldn't imagine a life devoid of his love. Slowly, her hand delicately caressed his face.
Selene: "I... I am sorry. I too know the pain in your heart. I wish it wasn't so. The moment I met you all those years ago, I knew I would love you. There was a brightness within you, a light that would drive the darkness from my heart, when I had nothing to live for. I was at the precipice of the end, as I felt no one understood the spirit within my heart."
As she spoke those words, melancholy grasped at Hornack's heart. Feint tears rolled down his cheeks as he knew that their love felt forbidden. He then gently placed his hand upon hers, still on his face.
Hornack: "Don't you dare cry for me! I am here now, which is what does matter. The night your brother Craven came, I remember the ominous night sky as we drowned in pourin' rain. Hand in sword, he told me he would kill me should I pursue the one I loved - you. Then, in a flash as he drew his sword, I was ashamed I had to fight the brother of the woman I loved. When it was all said and done, he laid in my arms and said, "I will haunt you for the rest of your life if you ever hurt her..." as he then faded from this world."
Selene: "Oh! Do not blame yourself! Even though I mourn the loss of my brother, he was mad! To think he knew better than me when it came to you, I..."
Falling on her knees, she burst out in tears, and her hands covering her eyes as she cried. Knowing full well the rest of her life would feel like a cursed existence, Selene vowed to herself to never let her kin dictate the person she would be. Truly being her height now, Hornack clutched her. His left hand clasped the back of her head, towards his chest.
Hornack: "There will be a place for you and me, sweetheart. If not here, then perhaps in the mines or in the greenery of a distant land. Wherever you are, I will be there with you and for you. I couldn't imagine a life where you are but a distant memory. As for your brother, I truly am sorry he had to die by my hands. I... can't imagine how the death of your twin brother must feel. Aye, though I suspect that there is a hollow feeling where your heart is.
Every day will be a painful reminder that your life is but a half-life. I'll never be able to fill it, but at the end of it all: I promise I will be the one to bury you so you never have to bury me. You've suffered so much already, and I couldn't bear the thought of you having to suffer more than you need to."
Selene: "Thank you, my love"
----------------------------------------------
Alright, I gotta go cheer up now lol. I had to feel those emotions in order to write that lol.
