I told her that I'm not going to do a dwarf playthrough anytime soon, and she sent me this link explaining her reaction AHHHHH - YouTube 😂😂 Any normal playthrough is 'vanilla' in her opinion, but I think vanilla is an amazing flavour. 🍦😆
Easiest difficulty is the WAY, Lol. If I played on harder difficulties in some games I'd have never finished them. 😂 Me being such a pro gamer *sarcasm intended*
BTW if you aren't into Geralt's outfit, the ursine armor is a nice one when you get the diagrams to craft it. There's others too, but that's one of my favourites in the base game. My favourite in the game plus DLC's is the manticore armor, I like that armor the most. 😊
Also the wild hunt are elves from their own realm, it's explained in the game, but not to the point I appreciated (Me being a diva 😂). It's difficult to know that straight off the bat if you've not read the books. They dress in such unusual outfits it's hard to actually know they're elves. 😂
It's absolutely fine to talk about your favourite games with passion! I get all nerdy about The Witcher TBH. 😂 I completely get that there's some games that have a place in your heart for many different reasons! I will totally look into NWN after my DAI playthrough. 😊★

That does not sound like an upset woman there, your friend 😂 So... I guess she decided to remain friends with you after all lol.In many games, I usually play Human since they have some basic advantages that other races just don't have. That being said, other viable races are either Elves or Half-Elves (if the game has them). As for Dwarves, I only played as one in the original Dragon Age Origins. I mean, I get why people find it hilarious playing as them. 😂 That being said, NWN has so many races and even more classes that it's insane to think you could have a fav class. 🤣
I concur. Playing on harder difficulty in modern games is like a death sentence for your character. I mean, for real, how is the easiest difficulty something I consider to be maybe like a 3 out of 6 in terms of difficulty? 😂 And then, the second highest is like a new game+ type of thing, but without your stuff and a considerably higher difficulty level because you don't have end game stuff. Don't worry, I know you're a pro gamer. E-Sport gamers have nothing on you. Nothing. I promise! I should know, I'm as good as you :D
There are legit some games I have NEVER finished because I just couldn't because the end boss (or near end boss) was so difficult. If I recall correctly, the PS2 game which I loved called Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, had this specific way of weakening the near end boss and all... I was like: "wtf is this?" As for Final Fantasy XII, which is the worst of the bunch... I couldn't beat the end boss. I was like: "...Uhm, so doing minimal damage to a boss that has 2+ million HP. Ok... ok. I'm screwed" I just gave up at that point. For the first one, it's a shame, since The Third Age is a great RPG imo. Fairly good characters and a good story. I just don't have the patience to have to perform specific types of attacks in order to really weaken the enemy, and then use further attacks to improve my own attacks, and THEN attack - sure, lemme try like 30 combinations and see what hurts the boss 🙄 . Older RPGs never had that type of bs. Older RPGs were simple: Attack and/or use magic, and items if need be, period.
Ima consider that armour your referred to. That is... if I ever get the diagram for it 😂 The one I have right now looks like a red and white padded armour. 🤣
Major spoiler girl loooool. I did not know they were Elves. I thought they were some evil badasses that looked awesome, and terrifying at the same time. Wait, so are you calling ME a diva as well, because I'd want all those explanations in plain sight (in the game)? Well, there goes all my spirit as a man, now a diva. 😂😂😂 I can't pull that off as a "diva". I know I can't cut it as one. Unless you wanna teach me how to be a manly diva like James Harden. 😂 (if you don't watch b-ball, don't worry, I'm not a huge huge fan of b-ball). This is what I am referring to about James Harden (such a popular gif):
Awwwww, you are a sweetheart! 😄 Aside from the clearly dated graphics, lemme know what you think of the story and game mechanics. If you play the game, if you meet a Dwarven Monk... Please get him. That guy can be hilariously dark. I mean, there are some very interesting characters in the game. Lemme say this: the Neverwinter Nights (OG) is literally the reason why Dragon Age as well as The Witcher franchises exist. It defined the genre in a way that was based on story. Not only was it driven by story, but driven by character development. If there is one thing I know you would appreciate is everything that you can do in the original game (plus expansions). There's no game, imo, that ever came close to Neverwinter Nights (OG - not to confused with the MMO of the same name) that did what they did with a game. Maybe it's my younger self speaking, but what can I say? lol.
If anything, I'm happy I can share things with you that I couldn't with others. Which is the reason why I'm actually trying a game I never would have otherwise. It's nice to be able to connect with someone in that way, since most of the time people won't care about XYZ. I've never met another gamer where either they were actually interested in something I had to say in regards to specific games (regardless of the game's age), or where I was like: "yeah I'll try that game [because you're recommending it]". That, and you do make me laugh.😂 Oh! And the fact that I was the person who finally convinced you to play DAI, that's golden [in a good way]! 🤗🤗🤗

Thank you for sharing 🙂 I do appreciate it. It's always nice to see what people do, and what their preferences are when it comes that.

Amazingly well written reply, I could never! Lol.
What's hilarious about the Dwarfs too, is the fact the game mechanics make them instantly grow taller for certain cutscenes. 😂
I get what you mean about some games being so tricky you can't finish them! I have had that problem with some, but I've usually realised my difficulty was just one mark above easiest. 🤣
OMG I'm so sorry I spoilt that for you! But I will still say they are still evil badasses that just happen to be elves 😂 James Harden's expression is how I felt when I saw some armor in TW3, LOL. I get what you mean by the red padded armor! 😂🤣 BTW, fun fact, I think you should get along with Geralt seen as your a ISTJ and on the 16 personalities website they consider Geralt a ISTJ. 😄
There really are games that are certified OG status! Games that start a precedent of games with themes that go deeper than a FPS (Sorry to FPS games 😂). And you find yourself going back to those games that have that fuzzy feeling about them, I know I do. Even games that aren't even known by many but they have a special place for me, sometimes it's because it just gives you major nostalgia or just because you love them! Like how annoying the Mii music was, and now it's certified platinum (at least to me anyway) 😂
And thank you! 😊★ I completely understand what you mean about people being put off because of a games age, I'm not as I looveee so many games that are considered little older now, they don't deserve just to be ignored because they might be older than a year or two. I think you were spot on about DAI holding up to this day, graphics wise too, I think the same about TW3 and they're basically the same age. With Dragon Age I was always like "hmm should I play it, it looks like a game I'd like" but never played it for some reason, but with it being one of your favourite games of all time, I couldn't ignore that. 😄 I also haven't purchased a new game from EA in ages, and by ages I mean years. 😂 Living under a premium rock problems! Lol.
Edit: Completely forgot to suggest to put the gwent level to the easiest too, as it really took me some time to learn how to play it properly. 🤣
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Thanks! Not sure what was great, but I accept the compliment. 😄
The moment you realize you suck at a game, and that the second difficulty is too hard for some reason compared to the first difficulty is the instant you know someone programmed difficultires but forgot to program them ingame. 😂
Gwent? Yeah... that thing is like the weirdest thing to understand playing honestly LOL. Like... you want me to tell you when I think I can win? Ok, sure, ok game.
Male Dwarf character: "My love grows for you every aching moment I am without you."
Female Human character: "Is this why you are now as tall as I am, my love?"
I almost wrote an entire love dialogue lol, but decided it may be too much XD I actually really want to LOL, since that's what I'm good at lol. I'd try for it to not be cheesy.
Naw, you're alright. I should have figured humans don't recklessly use magic in this game. 🤣 That and the fact that they are called the Wild Hunt. Only Elves live in the forest. Even Lord of the Rings know that. 😂
Sometimes, I wonder what type of colour blind blacksmith and armour smith existed that thought they were creating a masterpiece. Like for real. Guy thinks red and white are great colour combinations. Commander of the army be like: "Yes indeed! Let us hide within these luscious ferns and trees. The enemy will obviously never see us!"
You hated the Wii music? Interesting. I know some youtubers say they liked it. I guess it might have been either you love or hate it type of thing. I actually never paid attention to it. 😂 So... I literally have no opinion about whether I liked it or not back then.
Awwwww, that is so sweet that you did the test multiple times just to see what types of people were like me. I prefer thinking that than you googling it or something. 😂
You said: "With Dragon Age I was always like "hmm should I play it, it looks like a game I'd like" but never played it for some reason, but with it being one of your favourite games of all time, I couldn't ignore that"
That is definitely the sweetest thing anyone could do when it comes to gaming. I do appreciate your words, thank you! 🤗🤗🤗 Rather, I should say in general, as gaming is a real investment time wise. Especially for a game like that. It means a lot to me. Thank you :D I know it may sound corny saying all this, but I have been a gamer all my life, and it's always nice having someone who actually gets it.

Believe it or not, Gwent has a standalone game! 😂 That's how iconic it is! Lol.

Lol! I wouldn't of minded a full Dwarf story! 😂
Maybe that was the aim of the red and white armor, for everyone to see them and be like "ohhh, those guys are looking snazzy in that hedge over there" then the enemy would be so distracted with the colours, they get surrounded and captured. 10/10 design IMO. 🤣
It's a nice thought to think I'd actually have enough patience to do that test multiple times, but I don't. 🤣 Here's the page for all the personalities. Personality Types | 16Personalities
I didn't hate the Mii music, I actually always grooved with it, 🤣 but it does get very repetitive if you spent too long in the Mii channel, but if you didn't it was fine. 😂
Thank you! 😊 As for DAI I've sided with the mages because..well....they're mages so why wouldn't I, Lol. It seems my mage inquisitor is extremely biased. 🤣 I must admit I didn't even know I was making a big choice at the time. 😂
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
I know lol, I saw the game on Steam... but the TW3 version looks so much better than the standalone game (go figure). 😂
Strangely enough, Ciri (adult) looks way better made than Ciri (kid). The kid version looks like she's a Dwarf that somehow grew into a Human body. 🤣
I dunno? It's possible they went with that design choice? But I know thing, my Geralt is going to murder that person regardless. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh come on! You weren't supposed to admit that about the personality test. 😂😂😂 Now I don't feel special anymore, well I feel... special, but not not in a good way now. 🤣
You should totally get your Wii out, and place it on loops for several hours. That being said, there are videos online about stuff like Nyan Cat, Gandalf Sax, Where has the Rum gone?, They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard! etc., and then loops for 10 hours (if you search for the 10 hour versions). Those are GREAT, I love them. I would sometimes play those videos, usually for at least several hours. But, I could understand how someone may not necessarily want to. 😂
Oh yeah! You were making THE choice of a lifetime. I am surprised you are THAT far honestly. Damn...
Currently, I am brawling with some guys and just became champion of the port city (the one before you set sail). Going back to Velen first though to become champion there. That being said, I'm only doing it for the money lol. Good money to be made from all the fights together. As for the story thus far, well, the Baron is dead. So is his wife. Wasn't my plan for this to happen, but what can you do? I didn't like the Baron, I thought he was a maniacal wife beater who enjoyed making a fool of himself.
Well then, if you want a story... let me create one of for you. Starting with several paragraphs for Chapter 1 of a story I will call "The Golden Age of Chaos".
Characters (Male Dwarf: Hornack, Female Human: Selene, Male Human: Craven. Best I can do on such short notice, as I usually take a while to come up with names (and titles). 🤣🤣🤣 The rest to come later I guess). Thus, here are the first bits of a story just for you, Katie:
Hornack: "My love grows for you every aching moment I am without you."
Selene: "Is this why you are now as tall as I am, my love?"
Hornack: "Laugh all you will, but we both know the pain in your heart is what lets that sadness burst out of your chest. It has become your way of protecting that fragile love for me.
I may be a lowly Dwarf from the Mining Caste, yet I know the worth of gold is nothing in comparison to that bond we share. Aye, 'tis true that many have threatened our love because they couldn't stomach how such a beautiful woman such as yourself could adore a Dwarf like myself."
As he softly spoke to Selene, she became teary eyed as she couldn't imagine a life devoid of his love. Slowly, her hand delicately caressed his face.
Selene: "I... I am sorry. I too know the pain in your heart. I wish it wasn't so. The moment I met you all those years ago, I knew I would love you. There was a brightness within you, a light that would drive the darkness from my heart, when I had nothing to live for. I was at the precipice of the end, as I felt no one understood the spirit within my heart."
As she spoke those words, melancholy grasped at Hornack's heart. Feint tears rolled down his cheeks as he knew that their love felt forbidden. He then gently placed his hand upon hers, still on his face.
Hornack: "Don't you dare cry for me! I am here now, which is what does matter. The night your brother Craven came, I remember the ominous night sky as we drowned in pourin' rain. Hand in sword, he told me he would kill me should I pursue the one I loved - you. Then, in a flash as he drew his sword, I was ashamed I had to fight the brother of the woman I loved. When it was all said and done, he laid in my arms and said, "I will haunt you for the rest of your life if you ever hurt her..." as he then faded from this world."
Selene: "Oh! Do not blame yourself! Even though I mourn the loss of my brother, he was mad! To think he knew better than me when it came to you, I..."
Falling on her knees, she burst out in tears, and her hands covering her eyes as she cried. Knowing full well the rest of her life would feel like a cursed existence, Selene vowed to herself to never let her kin dictate the person she would be. Truly being her height now, Hornack clutched her. His left hand clasped the back of her head, towards his chest.
Hornack: "There will be a place for you and me, sweetheart. If not here, then perhaps in the mines or in the greenery of a distant land. Wherever you are, I will be there with you and for you. I couldn't imagine a life where you are but a distant memory. As for your brother, I truly am sorry he had to die by my hands. I... can't imagine how the death of your twin brother must feel. Aye, though I suspect that there is a hollow feeling where your heart is.
Every day will be a painful reminder that your life is but a half-life. I'll never be able to fill it, but at the end of it all: I promise I will be the one to bury you so you never have to bury me. You've suffered so much already, and I couldn't bear the thought of you having to suffer more than you need to."
Selene: "Thank you, my love"
