I started a granddaughter and a nephew on The Sims and Sims 2 and then 2 more granddaughters & a great nephew on sims 3.. Of them all I think only two granddaughters still play Sims 4.
It is lovely that you introduced your grand daughters, nephew and great nephew to The Sims @Bluegayle 🙂 They would have enjoyed simming at the time and have had lots of fun playing the game with you and talk about their sims.

So it seems I have another great grandchild on its way in Fall 2024 so looks like we the legacy continues.
Wow where does the time go.
If I count my children (my son played the Sims for a very short while) I guess we are a 4 generation of playing Sims family.
😲
This is a simplayer in progress 😉

Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your new little great grandchild! @Bluegayle ❤️That is exciting and lovely! Maybe one day this little child will be a simmer just like her great grandmother 🙂

I once met one person who played the sims. This was around the launch of the sims 2 because we talked about where to buy the brand new base game. I haven't seen this person for over 15 years, no clue where she is now. And that's the only one I ever met who already played the sims when I met them.
And then there is my daughter. I convinced her to give it a try. She created some sims and her save file still sits on my PC. But unfortunately it was only a phase.

I do indeed know Sims players IRL.
One of my very closest friends and I have both played Sims games over the years infact we've often played the same console games as we've grown up together.
Sadly my friend had to give it all up after learning she had Functional Neurological Disorder a few years ago. So she likes me to send her pictures from my game. I taught her daughter how to play it though and some of her young friends play it too.
We did have a small disaster when my friend bought her daughter a new Xbox without realising her packs were on PlayStation. So we found a sale and scrambled to replace them between about 3 of us. It was chaos with her mother, her uncle and me trying to do it without her knowing as it was a surprise and we wanted them loaded up ready to play too. We couldn't remember what packs she had before either. Like I said... chaos. 🤣
When the base game went free it started popping up in conversation with neighbours and with my friends kids and a few of them had started downloading it. The tweens next door to me love it and always have questions when I see them. I gave my old Xbox Series S to them (it was like a family member so it was a whole emotional rehoming thing lol). The youngest is severely autistic and highly sensory and it's so joyous to see him find something he loves and he gets so animated talking about it. 🥹
But in a group of about 8 or more Xboxing households I do get the eyerolls from some of the lads! If I have to hear once more that one downloaded it and deleted it immediately without getting past the opening titles....! I keep telling them they'd like the occults but they are having none of it. But I don't get them either with their headsets on and games like COD or DBD (shivers, ugh).
So I suppose it's each to their own. 🫤
