- Sure do. It's not as fun without sound.
- Yes I do, I like listening to my sims talking, i like listening to the TV when they are watching and I quite like some of the music that comes with the stereo (such as Retro, Baroque and Electronica); even the music on Build/Buy is all part of the experience for me.
The only exception I make is the emotion change "Sting" sound, I find it rather irritating to have that noise every time a sim changes emotion, particularly if they change emotions quickly in succession, so I have that switched off. - Sometimes I like to play with sound on, but I play in a common area of my house and I don't want to disturb others. Other times I like to watch videos or TV while playing.

- wildirishbanshee7 years agoSeasoned AceI play with sound on, game music off (but not radios) and that makes me happy. I've learned to just ignore emotion stings lol.
- I play with pandora on and just the sound effects of the Sims without background music.
- AfterMidnight137 years agoSeasoned NewcomerWhen I’m playing the game, yes. I turn the sound off when I’m building to listen to my own music.
- Trowicia7 years agoSeasoned VeteranSometimes. Sound is always on, but music is situational. (I allow the Object Music to play, but mode music no)
- Simmerville7 years agoLegendAlways play with sound on. Might do a build session with no sound, though.
- No, because a lot of the music and sound effects are annoying and I'm sensitive to constant repetition. I'd like to pick and choose which sounds to hear, but I feel like many of them are lumped in the wrong categories and it leads to me turning everything off.
For example, I originally liked having the UI sounds on because I like the blips and bloops of pressing buttons. But if I leave it on I have to hear the same annoying jingle every time a Sim completes a whim or even changes emotions, which is excessive in my opinion.
Once the voices started to get too repetitive I turned those off as well, but apparently Sim babies aren't under the Voices category, they're under the sound effects category (I know they only cry for a few seconds until your Sim can get to them, but if I wanted to hear a baby cry I would just have one in real life.) So I had to disable all the sound effects just because of that one thing.
tldr; Basically I wish I could hear the weather sounds, household sounds like kitchen knives cutting and doors closing, but without all the little cutesy jingles and music.
