Do you play with sound?

I keep the sounds of the world on, but sim voices are turned off permanently until they update them. I've gotten very tired of hearing the same voices over and over, as the range of them in game is very small. Also I find that sims in general talk too much - especially to themselves. I don't like the random screaming and outbursts of laughter they do. It's unsettling and annoying.

I play with sound all the time

Everything is on. I can't play without sound it makes the game feel more alive.

Just like with any other game I play, I always have my sound on. I feel like it gives some sort of immersion that you don't get when you play with the sound of. Surely I sometimes do it when I'm waiting in the train or somewhere else. But it often takes away some of the fun for me. As someone who works on games herself, soundtrack, voice acting and environment sounds became a very important part of the games I play and work on. It really adds some more depth to it in my opinion.

But of course I can also see how this isn't everyones cup of tea, some of it can get quite annoying after some time haha. Especially if Sims voices or the soundtrack isn't your cup of tea (but I often found myself enjoying the soundtrack from each and every Sims game).

i like the clicky ui noises as you can tell.
the master volume is only halfway because i do listen to other things while playing, like music or podcasts.

I like that way with ear buds, either to listen to the thunderstorms or the radio.

If I'm building a house or something that'll take more than a few minutes, I'll often turn off the sound and listen to my own music. But when I'm playing the game, I always have the sound on - I love listening to the little, ambient noises like footsteps, cooking, etc., especially now with Seasons. Last night, my two Sims were at work and school when it started storming, and even though no one was home, I slowed the time down just so I could listen to the sounds of the rain and thunder. I love it - the sounds are so immersive. In the past I would mute it occasionally, but I found myself losing interest more quickly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yes most of the time I do with earphones. but some days I don't and just listen to music instead

On live mode, I always have the sound turned on and my full attention is on the game. I usually have it running too during CAS or build mode, unless I'm watching something else on another screen. I'd probably have the music running all the time on build mode if I can pick and choose what to listen to. I do love some of the music from some of the packs, but others but so much. And, always with ear buds on.

Just wanted to add, I love the rain and thunder storm sounds from seasons!

Only in CAS when I choose voices, most of the time sound is off. Sometimes I forget to give my sims good voices.
