Do you play with sound?

Unless I'm in CAS or Build/Buy mode, then sound is on. I can't stand playing with the sound off, especially now that we have weather and I can listen to thunderstorms

Music in buy and build mode is off, but all of the other sounds are on. Love the sound of the storms.

I have the intro music, build/buy and CAS turned off. I wish I could turn off the blaring music that plays when a lot first loads too, it's very jarring when all other music is off up to that point. o.O Everything else is on. I love the ambient sounds in the game. I haven't experienced a thunderstorm yet, just got through Fall and Winter. It's Spring now though so hopefully soon! :)

I wish I could wear headphones while playing, I'm sure there's sounds I'm probably missing. My laptop with it's busted screen backlight is hooked up to my 60" flat screen though and I sit on the couch to play. I'd have to get a lonnnnnng cord for headphones. Oh well... *shrugs*

Oh yeah, gotta have the sounds! Anything that makes me feel more fully immersed in the game. For instance, instead of speeding through things like meal-eating, I'll sometimes position the camera so that it's like I'm sitting at the table with them while they eat (I've noticed I mostly do this when they're getting really old and are going to be dying soon; I'm weirdly sentimental like that.) My brother just got VR for PS4, for playing Skyrim and I'm jealous, lol - I wish we could play Sims with VR, but for now, I'll keep the sound on and take the camera down to sim level.

Sound is on all the time, I need to hear everything. When sims go to a nightclub, dj booth music is on high! (Love the music in this game).

If anyone irl turns on the tv or tries to talk to me, I put on my Bluetooth headset :p

Nope, only when i really want to be detailed with my sims and create their voices or have them as a musician etc. most of the time im listening to my own music in the background so the sound stays off in the game.

I play with sound effects on but with music off as I usually listen to my own music while playing the game :smiley:

Reading everyone's replies it seems listening to our own music while playing is a popular thing for us Simmers :smile:

I play with sound on! It feels so much more immersive that way. The only time I have the sound off is when I am in CAS or building.

The sound kind of helps me concentrate, probably because it's more immersive. So I rarely play with sound low/off.

I play with the sound on and now with seasons I love hearing the sounds of the weather.
