Due to numerous technical difficulties, I have played my Global Superstar and his nuclear family several times. I had to restart him after the StrangerVille Patch and things went wonky with RTF. Turned out I didn't have the latest version of that mod. But, the damage was done. Game save was corrupted, but what was worse is my star was corrupted. So, I simply started him over from a teenager, instead of having him born in game again. The story changed, of course. This time I had the use of the latest RTF, which had a few amenities it didn't have in the prior version.
One of the technical glitches that occurred after we got the IL patch, (sans any mods this time until MCCC was given the all-clear) was the game seemed to target my Rock Star for death by Hysterical. He died twice, even though I removed the buff with MCCC. Third time, he went Hysterical and I exited the game and used a copy of the save I had backed-up prior to the patch.
Although I didn't start from scratch this time, I set up the Sim I had created to be his spouse and her family, instead of five female Sims for him to meet, date, and either dump or what have you. I also disabled death by emotion, just until this weird glitch is addressed. Sadly, his intended had meltdowns every time he responded to a female fan who flirted heavily with him. I call it his weak-knee affliction. Nor, did she settle down again after they were engaged, which is what happened the first go-around. I had him break it off and he was on the 'hunt' again. After two more bad relationships, I created an entirely different Sim for him. They are now happily wed with four small children. In order to stop her jealous fits (and no she doesn't have that trait, I think this is something built into the RTF mod) I had to cheat him into a Player so that she wouldn't be jealous. They have two toddlers, the girl being the eldest and then an actual set of twins.
While I awaited the updating of the two mods I use, and word on a third one, I began my ancestral save all over again. This save takes place in the 18th century, and I am excited to play off-the-grid. Sadly, we can't use that lot trait in Willow Creek. But, perhaps, this will be the impetus for me to get to the end of their story, this time. Always something happens that makes me set it aside.
