Do you upgrade old homes and sims with new pack content?

My game is like a history book of styles! I just realized that I hardly ever upgrade my sims or their homes with new BB/CAS content. Most sims I created when I got base game, still have hair and cloth...

I feel like I'm so odd. Like I don't even touch the new content I just bought until I need it or until it fits the story Im playing. Case in point I just bought Cool Kitchen Stuff like a few weeks ago and I haven't used anything from it yet. But its there when I need it I guess. :)
