I used to think the game speeds were fine, but then watching my sims die off one at a time so fast without getting to have a proper chance to get to know them and how they work, it just seemed so empty. One day i decided to adjust MC game timing and i haven't looked back since. i now have so much time to do everything i want and dealing with multiple family members is far, far easier. TS4 base game time, you'd be lucky to get the chance to manage a few sims a day, and you'd be pausing time, assigning directions and the like, and you'd be doing it all the time everytime and it doesn't fit a natural progression of events.
after the adjustment, you can deal with all 8 sims without needing to pause and the autonomy per sim is a lot more slower, so you can intercept any instruction given by the game and make your own magic, assuming any instruction was given at the time. it is so much more interesting taking your time to build events around you rather than having it dictated by the base game speed.
