Do you wish the days would go slower?

I just do not have enough time in a day to give proper attention to each sims needs and wants. One sim wants to learn her magic. Her sister is a baker and owns a retail bakery. Husband is in the military career and trying to advance. All while having a toddler who needs to build up their skills.

The days go so fast. Do you concentrate on one sim per day or try to multitask? I mean, if I'm at the Bakery with my one sim, that's all I can do. But if I'm back home, the other sim can practice her magic while dad trains for the military and both can help build skills with the toddler.

Just seems like the game's timer is too fast when you have so many sims to attend to.

  • I have time speed to 50 instead of 25 thanks to MCCC and it works so much better.
If a sim has one hour left before going to work, instead of choosing between eating or showering, they can do both and more. An outing to the restaurant doesn't take the whole evening.

Time is slower but similar enough that things still make sense in game mechanics, and not too slow that I'll get bored.
I used to pause all the time before to micromanage, now I don't need to. If I forget to send a sim to sleep at 11pm, by the time I notice it's midnight at worst, not 4am like before.
  • Agree with a lot of the tasks taking more time than they should. Since my scientist acquired a special shower through his job in GTW, at least those go a lot faster now.

The length of the days is fine. It's the amount of time it takes to complete tasks that's the problem. It takes like 2 hours just to eat a meal. :D

  • When my sim gets off work at 4:00 pm and goes straight to dinner it will usually be after 11:00 pm by the time he gets home. That’s my issue.
  • No, but I do wish sims ate and showered faster and didn't repeat the same animations on one single action as much.
  • I find retail/resturants/clinics etc really make giving attention to more than one sim hard especially if you don't want to have your household also live on that lot. I wish we could have a genuine home business or sale our goods online. If I'm focusing on one of those things I usually will just make their other household members also work in the store but usually I allow a day or two for each sim while multitasking things like childcare. I'd love to see daycare or preschool for toddlers/kids make a comeback to help them with skill building and getting to know other sims their age.

No, cuz if they want to speed up the animations, it will be too weird. Yes, eating is kinda slow but there are a lot of other stuff like talking/socializing, etc, which for example, takes 5 sim minutes for sims to shake hands. But you can't possibly make this animation any faster or it would look unnatural. The only way is to slow down the time so it will be more realistic.

good thing about eating on a slower game speed is that your sim can eat food within minutes, by giving orders to walk around once, eat some food, orders to another location, eat some more food, more orders... you can clear the plate very quickly that way. if you leave them to it, it can take upwards of an hour. you can't do that on the default game speed.

you can also get a lot more socialising in as well on a slower game speed.
