Being the parent of a 12yo who's a Simmer, I think the game hits the lower side of the T rating (teens start at 13, it's not just 17-19yo). Considering some of the interactions in it, I don't see how it's childish or fitting an E rating.
Sure, it'd be nice if things like getting juiced would be included and it's obviously tamer than 20 years ago when the rating itself was more lax.
But "children don't play this game" is not true. They do - all you need to do is look at comments on popular uploads in the gallery. "Kids look at adult content anyway" is an argument equal to "people break laws, why bother having any".
For me personally, I don't see the need for more "raunchiness". It's not what I've ever looked for in this particular game.
