Do your sims look like their parents and elder ancestors?

I always get a nice mix. I normally notice it in my videos when the baby has grown up to a child. Ex. Cassandra Goth in my remake of TS1, has Mortimer's skin tone, and I believe his eyes, but the rest is solely Bella.
