This topic was prompted by a comment in another thread. @LMLS2143 indicated she/he missed Brindleton Bay because it's been a while since she/he played a save there.
I only play one save, one family so I have venues and extended family and friends to visit in all worlds.
Depends on the world for me. I love this fan art by EmilyJayneDraws where you can envision they are not so far apart after all (kinda like driving distance, in some cases like hours and hours lol)
I try to have a household in each world in rotational play. They don’t travel often and if they do, it’s for a reason I have to justify in whichever world(s) would be close by, unless it’s the Star Accolades. But I don’t have a very strict rule about it. If they get invited out, I let them go if I feel like it - even though sometimes they end up at the bar in Selvadorada.
Very often. I've set up community lots in every world to visit and do vacation often. I also play in rotation and most of my sims friends live in other worlds. The world I visit least is willow creek.
Yes. I feel like the ease with which Sims travel is a benefit of the Sims 4, so I try to take advantage of it as much as possible. The worlds are too small otherwise.
We have vampires, aliens, mermaids, etc. I can suspend my disbelief for quick travel too.
Yes. I play as if the “worlds” are more like smaller regions in one large land, so they’re easy to travel. The only barriers I create to that is the separation between my supernatural region (The Myst) and the human region. I use mods to lock humans out of Forgotten Hollow and Glimmerbrook, and restrict townie travel out of their worlds, some. My supernaturals like to stealthily visit human regions, though.

Normally yes, as I get bored otherwise, though I have played the Newcrest challenge and is currently trying to play a challenge where a sim is only allowed to move into a world that has been "unlocked" - ie. gen 1 has access to one world until (if) they move in with someone from another world. Their child has access to two worlds until (if) they move in with someone from a third world. I want to see how long it takes me before all my worlds are open for travel. Right now I'm on gen 1 and stuck in Oasis Springs.
Yep, almost every single sim day my sims go to some other world. One of my favorite things about this game at this point in it's life is just how many total lots we actually have available to us and I love to go out there and visit them and one of the things that makes me love to play it more than any of the others in the franchise is just how quickly I can do it (i.e. really fast load times on my machine compared to past games in the franchise).
The only worlds I treat as "exotic destinations" .. or whatever you want to call them, are the world's the game itself treats as "destinations" rather than "locations". i.e. the ones you need to use vacation to visit.
I lived in Southern California for 20 years, so the idea that a person could visit the beach in the morning, the desert in the afternoon and the mountains in the evening all on the same day without getting on a plane completely seems realistic to me.
There are so many places to visit in the game with all of the packs installed that I actually have to keep a master list of what lots are where in my world so that I don't lose track: Library: • Willow Creek • Newcrest • Windenberg • Britechester • StrangerVille Gym: • Willow Creek • Windenberg • San Myshuno • Del Sol Valley • Mt. Komorebi Spa: • Oasis Springs • Sulani • Evergreen Harbor • Mt. Komorebi • Granite Falls • Tartosa (Beach) Café: • Willow Creek • Windenberg • Strangerville Restaurant: • Oasis Springs • Newcrest • Magnolia Promenade • Windenberg • San Myshuno • Brindleton Bay • Sulani • Del Sol Valley • Mt. Komorebi Bar: • Oasis Springs • Newcrest • Magnolia Promenade • Windenberg • Forgotten Hollow • Brindleton Bay • Strangerville • Sulani • Glimmerbrook • Evergreen Harbor • Del Sol Valley • Britechester • Henford-On-Bagley • Selvadorada Karaoke Bar: • Windenberg • San Myshuno Bowling: • Sun Myshuno • Magnolia Promenade Pool: • Oasis Springs Beach: • Sulani • Tartosa Lounge: • Oasis Springs • Newcrest • San Myshuno • Brindleton Baby • Del Sol Valley • Mt. Komorebi • Tartosa Nightclub: • Willow Creek • Windenberg • Del Sol Valley Vet Clinic: • Newcrest • Brindleton Bay Dog Park: • Newcrest • Brindleton Bay National Park: • Brindleton Bay • Granite Falls • Henford-On-Bagley Park: • Willow Creek • Windenberg • Mt. Komorebi Art Gallery/Arts Center: • San Myshuno Museum: • Oasis Springs • Selvadorada Skating: • Windenberg Café • Del Sol Valley Club • Near parks in open world of Willow Creek + • Newcrest (near far right and top nhood in summer) • Oasis Springs commercial area • Magnolia Promenade • Windenberg Old Town • Brindleton Bay (National Park) Special: • Ruins (Windenburg) • Bluffs (Windenburg) • Chalet Gardens (Windenburg) • Myshuno Meadows (San Myshuno)
In my head, I have "clusters" of worlds that are close together and others that are further away. Depending on what style of story I'm playing, I've sometimes charged my sims "bus fare" via cheats to travel outside their cluster. (at least until they get their broom as spellcasters)
I'll put my clusters in a Spoiler for those who are curious
Cluster 1 is Willow Creek, Newcrest, Magnolia Promenade and San Myshuno Cluster 2 is Oasis Springs and Del Sol Valley, with Strangerville "on the road" between Del Sol Valley and San Myshuno (think any of the towns on US Route 66) Cluster 3 is Brindleton Bay, Evergreen Harbor and Glimmerbrook (With Granite Falls being a National Park/Campground type place, akin to Yellowstone, Yosemite, or Glacier) Cluster 4 is Windenberg, Britechester, Henford-on-Bagley and Forgotten Hollow
Sulani, Mt. Komorebi, Selvadorada and (once I get it) Tartosa are not part of any cluster and usually reserved for Vacations.
But yeah, I have sims pop to other worlds all the time so that I don't have to try to have everything in one world.
I have a Rock Star in my game. Someone else on these forums suggested their singer Sim went on Tour. That inspired me to place concert venues in the other worlds. The main focus has been on Newcrest, since it's basically empty. I've also placed eateries in other worlds, too. I often send my Sims on Dates so I decide where they're going and so, in that sense I often visit other worlds. I use Sulani, sometimes, for a honeymoon. Haven't figured out where to place a nice restaurant, however. I even have a concert venue in Strangerville. Talk about eerie. LOL
I should've just said yes, but basically there are certain worlds that I consider close enough to each other that my sims' visiting on any day is not a big deal. So if my Windenburgians want to visit Henford-on-Bagley for a little day trip or the fairs, cool. But if they want to go to Sulani or Mt. Komorebi, that's a vacation or a special holiday.
