Does a Valedictorian not get a diploma?

My sim worked really hard in high school and I was super proud she got Valedictorian. I was very scared that graduation won't work or show in my game, I have had bad luck with it, but this time the event showed. My sim practiced her speech everyday before the big day. When she arrived at the graduation she was not wearing a gown, so I thought Here we go, its not gonna work again. So I quickly took a pic of her at the one background, and just waited it out.

Time ticked by and then all of a sudden she shooshed into her gown and started walking up the stage stairs to do her speech :)

However after the speech the principal came and a pop up said to wait for her name to be called. It was never called, the graduation ended and she changed back to normal clothes and went home empty handed. Did this happen because she is a Valedictorian?

Please any help would be appreciated <3

You’re lucky to have got that far. My sims graduated on a Tuesday when she aged up to YA and it said she was Valedictorian. I enrolled her in Uni and had her live on-campus but when Sunday rolled around, there was no a graduation event at all ?. I’m starting to think that your sim can’t have a job or even split from the household if you want to have a graduation.

My sim is almost done with her degree at uni now, but she went to the auditorium via travel option and gate crashed that graduation, looks like it happens 6pm every Sunday in the game regardless of what your sims are doing. Perhaps give that a go @MayaRose1138 ;)
  • She got another diploma and had the right clothes on, but the picture were still the same as the other one. So next time I will try and change her actual everyday clothes so there is just one option to wear and see what happens, bring on next Sunday LOL

She’s missed one Sunday and I really don’t want to go back in my saves to find it, so maybe I’ll try for this Sunday and see if it will work. If it doesn’t, oh well. I’ve got four kids in another save from the same family, and I’m keeping them all at home until the Sunday, so I’ll see what happens there. Can’t remember whether the oldest one was a Valedictorian but if any of the younger ones are, that will be good :)

It should work. Just wait for about 5:30 on Sunday and then travel to the Auditorium. Wait for 6pm you will see the building logo come up and then change the Auditorium to the graduation ceremony. Shortly after sims will start arriving. Wait for the Valedictorian to do their speech and once the Principle starts handing out the diploma's click on her and say receive ceremonial diploma (something like that) Your sim will go up and receive it. If you want it to look authentic then you should just for that day have her Everyday outfit be a graduation outfit. I do hope it works for you :) Good luck and happy simming ;)
