- LarrikatevenSeasoned RookieI haven't for a while, but sometimes I've found them helpful if I've had a lot going on in one household, and just need to get a Sim out of the way for a while (there are other ways of doing this too, of course, but if there's a dog in the house, why not?)

Like idk but I almost feel like the short walks have become even longer xD
Perfect to me if playing large chaotic household :p way to get one out of sight.. "Hey, take Jesse and have a walk.. 10 hours sounds good!" :D- Same as @Ellupelluellu. I'll use medium and long when I want to get a sim and the dog out of the house.

The funny part is that .. that's my real dog's name xD - SimplyJenRising SpectatorI have no clue why I read that as walls. :D
I stick to short.. or use a mod (LittleMsSam)
I've always felt pet walks are wayyyy too long for both the dog and the sim. Needs are so depleted by the time they finally return home.SpoilerI even had an elder dog expire on a walk because it took so long. The game wasn't sure what to do and both sims froze. Resetting wasn't working so I took the risk, saved, and restarted. Suddenly there's an urn on the sidewalk miles from home and everyone is mourning. - simsimsereNew TravelerAbsolutely not. The length of the walks is my main gripe with C&D and the reason why I don't want to have dogs often. In some neighbourhoods the short walk simply takes too long, both sim and the dog being nearly dead by the end of it. I truly wish the devs would recalculate the routes.

I stick to short walks which as you observed aren't exactly short... Or my Sim just doesn't walk and stays in the house. Walking to the toilet seems to be all the exercise she needs these days :D
It just feels so unrealistic xD like I want the kind of short walk my sim can reasonably do in the evening after dinner and daily chores within like 30-40 minutes. Not 3 hours ? - mariefoxprice83Rising Vanguard

I never use other than short walks unless the neighborhood is really small because my Sims usually give up walking and either fall asleep on the road far away from home or have a bladder failure.
The bladder failure, and the concern for the sim's other needs, is why I rarely use the medium and long walks. - elliebretonSeasoned VeteranEven the short walk is too long for me. I tend to send them on it and when they've got a fair way I will click back in front of the house to just get them to walk home again.
I did once pick a point on the map and use the heel command on a trained dog to follow my sim but I dunno if that counts as a 'walk'. - I use all 3 depending on how long I need/want the sim and dog to leave me alone.
