Does anyone actually use medium / long walks?

I tend to have my Sims give their dogs short walks.
I think I did have one take a medium walk, but ended up canceling it, because I needed the Sim home for work.

I have my sims take their dogs on "short walks" during the work week, and then I'll have them go on "medium walks" on the weekends. I very rarely use the "long walk" option.

The bladder failure, and the concern for the sim's other needs, is why I rarely use the medium and long walks.

I use my shorterdogwalks mod. Even with that installed I very rarely USC the long walk option.

Even the short walk is too long for me. I tend to send them on it and when they've got a fair way I will click back in front of the house to just get them to walk home again.

I did once pick a point on the map and use the heel command on a trained dog to follow my sim but I dunno if that counts as a 'walk'.

Nope. The short walks take my sims like four hours and I think that's to long for walking a dog. :D

I use all 3 depending on how long I need/want the sim and dog to leave me alone.

Do you think the excessive length is a bug that could be reported?

I'm using the Medium walk quite regulary. I use this to exhaust the dog, who was really needy and attached to the owners. After that walk the dogs fall instantly asleep at home, and my sims have some time for their Chores.
