Does Anyone Else Miss The Matchmaking Site?

I can't quite recall now, but I do believe it was in Sims2. I'm certain someone can come along and correct me. I never played the Original Sims. But there was a function that allowed a Sim who desired some romance to either make a phone call or click on a computer to call up a Matchmaker. It had it's negative aspects. The Sim chosen wasn't always the most desirable. Too old, too young, whatever the case, but I do wish we could have a better way for our Sims to meet other Sims who are also looking for love. Right now, (as I have always done) I have the Sim in the game along with her family. My Sim has always managed to randomly meet her, that is up until now. Had I not needed to roll back to rid myself of a patch-related problem, this wouldn't be a concern. They had already met, randomly. However, the MWS pack is due out tomorrow and my couple still hasn't met. Face/palm. I played all day yesterday, too. She still hasn't shown her sweet face. She's a music lover, and he's a musician/Rock Star. I thought at first, since he's managed to meet both of her parents, that the target Sim was stuck at home babysitting her younger sisters. So, I created a twin for her, still she's a no-show. Today, I created a triplet for her returning the names I had originally. The other two Sims, for two of his brothers, are also in the game. They have made themselves equally as scarce. I'm beginning to think things are purposefully stacked up against me. :open_mouth: Currently, I have my Sim chatting. Next, he's set to look for a pen-pal. Yeah, I'm to that point of desperation. I may just give in and have him stop by her house …

If you play with mods, you might be interested in MizoreYukii's Arranged Marriages or in LittleMsSam's SimDa Dating App. Neither is the same thing as using a matchmaker, but they both add alternatives to what the game itself has.

I may take a look at the Arranged Marriages, since my story does include one Match made that way. Thanks.

Temporarily use a teen neighborhood anywhere you send him. And also if you know her traits and likes/dislikes that should help too. Active sims and those who like fitness frequent gyms. If she is artistic you might find her at a museum or art gallery. If she likes to sing she might be at a karaoke bar. If she likes to read, or likes logic etc. she might be at a library or somewhere you might find a chess table, rocket ship, etc., also being a teen neighbor hood it should double the chances. If you make a club and set it to teenagers with skills they both have she may show up in the choice for club members. Or you could go in and play her family and make her a leader to 3 clubs, and give them specific places to meet, and you might meet her there, or be able to choose your sim as a member of one of her clubs and then your sim could start a club gathering at at any place you wish.

The curious thing about this, is that I did place a mailbox on the Karaoke Bar lot. His sister called for the girl intended to hangout on said lot. The popup indicated she was on her way over, but she never made it. Instead, moments after the Starlight Accolades was over and he went off on a photoshoot, she showed up in the parking log of the PBP Studios! Long story, shorter, I canceled the photoshoot and once he appeared again, he introduced himself. It was love at first sight. Both had friendship and romance bars full. It's as if the game recalls their relationship from pervious iterations of my Cantrell saves. So far so good. He took her out on a date to get to know her better. They got on so well, that he asked her to be his girlfriend, followed up by giving her a Promise Ring. They are on their way. :) Four more game weeks and they'll both be YAs. Yay.
