Does anyone else think the maid is pointless now?

Does anyone else think that maids are pointless in the sims 4? I don't know about your experience with them but I find that they rarely show up, they don't put leftovers in the fridge, they walk in on...

The Sims 2 was the last game with good Services.

The only reliable ones in 3 were the Repairman (as long as he doesn't chat) and the Mailman.

Pizza Man would drive up and walk away, maid would socialise and steal items, the gardener never watered all the plants etc. fireman showed up after my whole kitchen burnt down.
It seriously drove me crazy.

Yet in The Sims 2 they were programmed so well.
