Does anyone else think the maid is pointless now?

Does anyone else think that maids are pointless in the sims 4? I don't know about your experience with them but I find that they rarely show up, they don't put leftovers in the fridge, they walk in on...

In Sims 3 they had the beds to make, but in 4 they don't need to do that, so my maid will put one plate in the dishwasher and then just stand there for a couple of hours before leaving. It's kinda pointless.
