Does anyone else think the maid is pointless now?

Necro'd thread, but yeah. More than two years later and we have roombas and butlers, plus younger sims can build character values by doing them.

All my maids do is charge me each time I load my save or go to my home lot for doing nothing.

Personally, I don't bother using the maid service. If I'm that desperate for maid services I make a sim and tend to have them do all the chores and such for the entire household so the other sims are free to do other things.

Kind of necro'd thread but yeah, especially now more than ever, maids are useless except for cheating, if you want to role play Ben Affleck. Using vampire power to command other sims, buttlers and upcoming skeleton workers are much cheaper and better alternatives.

This is a really old thread but no. I think you can choose not to use them and have other options. We can have a nanny, maid, butler or even bring a cleaning club to your house (with GT). I really only hire them though if I want to use them for drama or actually want a klepto maid, new love interest, new victim... ect. You can always change them up in CAS a little with the cheat including traits.
