@Jacknchloe it was probably a situation outfit, which is an outfit category that is separate from all the standard ones. Some of those are really, really bad. I just use MCCC to force them to do an outfit switch when it happens in my game.

There is a mod that reduces the places where situation outfits are used, if you are willing to use mods.

I would rather not use them only because I did once and if kinda messed up my game. Good to know about the situation outfit. I didn’t know there was such a thing. Thank you!

No problem, @jacknchloe! I respect your choice regarding mods. Better to not use them at all then to use them but not have the patience to make sure to also maintain them so that they don't break your game.

I wish you luck on your townie makeover project! I do the same thing in my game, and mostly it works well. I do use mods, but I do not use any that remove situation outfits...so I still see craziness in outfit choices too. Sometimes it's funny....just sometimes.

@stormkeep Since you already have MCCC, you might use its replace situation outfits feature. I'm not sure in which module it is, but you can use it to alter specific situation outfits to one of the existing categories. For example, I have the romance festival set to party outfits and the spice festival to everyday outfits.

@MDiannaSanders Now that you mention it, I've stumbled on that feature in MCC and had considered using it. Just sometimes I get a kick out of the situation outfits so I haven't turned any of the replacers on yet. Some day I probably will. Thank you so much for reminding me it was there though, because it's one of those things I forget is there. MCCC has sooo many features.

If you don't have MCC and do want to change an outfit, there's an option in the Friendly menu that says "ask to see outfit..."
They keep the outfit you pick for the remainder of your time. But, it's only the outfit category name, you don't see the actual outfit until they put it on. But you can keep asking them to change with no risk of ruining the conversation.

Can anyone tell me what to do? My sim is an actor and he can't get married because this message show up "Marrying a sim in your employ would be inappropriate. Dismiss them from their role to further pursue a relationship." What can I do?

Try having the two sims break up with any other romantic relationships that they have with any other sim, then see if that helps the issue,
