Does anyone let their kids stay home from school or do a 3-day weekend?

I usually try to have a "vacation" day when I want to focus on skills or want to do a family event and the parents are off of work. When I was younger I used to remember being over joyed when I'd wake...

Is there an actual way to skip school if you are sick? I just thought you'd cancel the interaction to go to school if they are sick and you'd atleast not get a penalty. I haven't had sick sims yet.
