If the GeekCon Festival starts when the household I'm playing has a teen with a knowledge aspiration then I have the teen leave school early so they can attend. Their grades never suffer and even if they do they can either do extra credit or complete a school project to get them right back up.
The Runaway Teen Challenge that I'm playing will require a camping trip to Granite Falls as part of the Outdoor Enthusiast aspiration so the teen will miss at least two school days for that. I've always had to have a Sim go back to Granite Falls a second time to look for plants or insects that I couldn't find the first time. So that might mean another weekend camping trip.
It's true, as somebody said, that once the teen has an A grade they can skip a day of school or not even do homework for almost a week before the grades start slipping into the B zone.
I'm guilty of pushing my teens to do as much as they can in connection with grades, gardening, collections, aspirations, and skills. They rarely get a day off.
