I would not buy Paralives as it currently looks. I don't enjoy building when things are ultra cartoony vs more realistic. That being said, I really hope they do take off just so the Sims has some real competition to make them listen to what people actually want.
I have literally NEVER been critical of the sims4 in the past, even after playing every other iteration of the sims. But I don't care who mandated it, the recent rebranding was a massive waste of time and resources. Yes, that is, in my opinion ?.
