Does Sims 4 run better on Pc than Sims 3

I have played both on several laptops (nowhere near gaming laptop specs) and both games have run very well with no lag or problems. I had the entire Sims 3 collection on one (when I had a laptop with a disk drive). I can get a digital copy from Amazon? I don't have a disk drive anymore for a CD.
You can download it through origin, I dont have a CD slot either, I put the code in origin and it let me download that way.
Digital downloads are not available on Amazon anymore. I just looked.
Get the CD version and inside is a code you put in origin without touching CD and it downloads.
Also FYI to everyone else of course sims 3 isnt going to run as smoothly as sims 4 , sims 3 is an old game and sims 4 is more modern this is a very unfair comparison. Im kind of tired of these two games always being compared to each other.
