I’m looking into getting a PC again and wondering how well sims 4 actually runs? I found sims 3 to be really choppy and laggy for me..
I’m currently playing on console and would much prefer it for pc
I would say it's better. I didn't have many issues with Sims 3 but I seem to have hardly any on Sims 4. The issues I do have are nearly always my own fault! lol - EricasMyTouchQ7 years agoSeasoned Ace

I have played both on several laptops (nowhere near gaming laptop specs) and both games have run very well with no lag or problems. I had the entire Sims 3 collection on one (when I had a laptop with a disk drive). I am going to eventually re-purchase my missing Sims 3 packs via Origin (except Katy Perry's Sweet Treat pack which is no longer available) and see how well they run on this laptop which was a last minute purchase back in September after my Dell laptop's battery died.
You can get sweet treats from amazon, I just ordered mine last week.
I can get a digital copy from Amazon? I don't have a disk drive anymore for a CD. - BerryCharm7 years agoRising Traveler

You can download it through origin, I dont have a CD slot either, I put the code in origin and it let me download that way. - Lizzychicago7 years agoSeasoned Ace

My techy son says this probably won't work on the high settings and to take a pass. - icemanfresh7 years agoLegendIn general it does. I have a gaming laptop so TS3 runs smoothly for me, but even then it still crashes more often than TS4.
- In my experience, Sims 4 runs infinitely better than Sims 3 ran on PC. There is some frustrating simulation lag when you get past City Living expansion pack, but its so much less intrusive than the lag and crashing that came with Sims 3, even on some newer pc's. I'd say its well worth the change as long as you don't expect sims 3 when you download sims 4. They are very different games with a similar theme.
- I play 4 and 3 (all packs and store content installed) on an Alienware desktop and they both run equally well.

Digital downloads are not available on Amazon anymore. I just looked. - Both Sims 3 and Sims 4 plays very well on my PC. Then again, mine is a custom built PC~

I have a top of the line PC and even it gets a little herky-jerky (what most people here call 'laggy') with Sims 3 once I install all the EP's and mods that I like. I just don't use the term laggy because it isn't actual performance lag ... it's the freaking game engine (just mho).
Sims 4 runs great by comparison. I Also have occasional crashes with TS3. TS4 runs smoothly as silk and has never crashed on me once that I can recall.
